Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Mission

"Queen! What are you doing here...? What happened?" Grayson asked in a serious tone.

"You haven’t been in class for weeks, and I need your help. The Despicable Deity’s Inheritance will reveal itself within the next month. I need to be able to enter it by then and you’re the only one that can help me do that." Queen said sincerely.

Queen had once challenged Grayson to see if what he taught was actually true and if it could benefit her. He told them that they had been practicing wrong this whole time and if they truly wanted strength, restarting their progress was what they needed to do. That was exactly what Queen did.

Immediately after she regained her consciousness, she went to the Garden of Donations and began to practice from the beginning. She was now back to the Odinary Realm.

"Yeah, I can see that." Grayson said as he observed Queen’s body. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

’She might actually not be a waste of my time.’ Grayson thought to himself.

He then placed his hand on Queen’s shoulder, which startled her. However, in the next instant, they both appeared in the classroom of the elite.

"What-!" Queen said to herself with shock.

Young hosts could be seen all around chatting and showing off as the room was now used as a chill spot.

"All right everyone, get seated!" Grayson shouted, but everyone continued as though they were deaf to his words.

(Sigh)

With a heavy sigh, Grayson then released numerous high grade shadows at once, which he had stock piled. Each shadow went to their respective student and had them take their seats.

Normally the students wouldn’t be able to see or interact with the shadows, but Grayson intentionally made them visible for what was to come next.

"Let go of me!"

"What the hell are these things?"

"I’ll kill you!"

Words of retaliation were now coming from the young, angry hosts.

"Listen up you over privileged wankers. I will be doing S rank missions until the inheritance reveals itself so I won’t have the time to hold your hands throughout your training.

The creatures now standing behind you are basically my servants. They will keep an eye on you and guide you when I’m not around." Grayson said out loud.

"Like hell I’m going to let a servant tell me what to do." A host said then tried to attack the shadow behind him.

The shadow then placed its hand on the young host’s shoulder and held him in his seat.

"I can’t move." The host said in disbelief.

"As you can see, they are not weak. Many of you must already know, Queen, who was in the highest realm amongst you. She has now restarted her progress from scratch.

Restarting your progress is a great risk at the moment, with the Inheritance coming up. However, in the long run it will prove to be worth it. For now, you all just focus on solidifying your realms. Forget the system and its beast cores. For these remaining weeks, until the inheritance appears, I want you all to kill as many beasts as possible.

The Inheritance you will be going to is filled with dangers even I can’t deal with. I was asked to prepare you for those dangers. You lot won’t grow being babied in a classroom. You need strength; you need experience.

You will no longer be allowed back into the city. I hope you got some mighty clean underwear on you. Each of you is required to find a path that is unique only to you. This is a big step forward into becoming a Mythical Host. Use your battles to feel the way exousia flows through your bodies, that is how you will discover your path. Most importantly...survive!" Grayson said then each shadow swiftly held a student’s shoulder.

They were suddenly warped with Grayson outside the city. Deep within the forest, the young hosts began to panic.

"Where are we?"

"What do you mean we won’t be allowed back into the city?"

"What are we going to eat?"

"We are in the forest just outside Madsus City. Further ahead is some mountain ranges rich with all manner of beasts. Your goal is to kill 300 beasts before the Inheritance appears. Anyone who fails to do so will not enter the Inheritance." Grayson said coldly.

"How the fuck are we supposed to kill 300 beasts in such a short amount of time!" Lucien shouted feeling annoyed.

Lucien was the grandson of one of the sect leaders of the Hardon Sect. Growing up so privileged, he felt that him being subjected into doing such a thing was beneath him.

"That’s what my shadows are here for. They will help you when your life is in imminent danger from the beasts, but everything else is on you. They can also mimic the flow of your energies. Use them as a cheat sheet to your own body.

If you are worried about food, eating the beasts will provide the nourishments you need. The flesh of beasts have icredible vitality. Due to their beast cores, exousia has been pumped into them from birth. Eating the flesh of a beast with an affinity to a similar element as yours can greatly strengthen your body and affinity to that element. You have five months...Good luck!" Grayson said then warped away with Queen.

"What the fuck!" One of the hosts said out loud.

Back at The Bartender’s:

Grayson, alongside Queen, appeared next to Azrael out of thin air.

"Wait here." Grayson said then disappeared.

A few minutes later, he came back holding two mission tubes.

He then handed down one of the mission tubes to Azrael. "A horde of Legendary Beasts has been gathering and attacking villages. It won’t be long until they set their eyes on the major cities in the west. Take Queen with you and get her to at least the Ascended Realm before the inheritance appears." Grayson said to Azrael.

"So this is the mission you had in mind. I won’t fail you." Azrael said with determination in his eyes.

"Seeing how the Inheritance will be coming soon and the required level for entering is an Ascended Host, Azrael will personally deal with your training. I don’t want you to just be in the Ascended Realm. I want you to dominate it and be stronger than you were before. Most importantly, you need to prove that I did not make a big mistake leading you to do this and hope no one else is stupid enough to pull this shit."

"*sigh* Where will you be?" Queen asked with a sigh.

"In the north. Something about the grimmes waging an all out war to seal the biggest source of exousia to Evnoia." Grayson answered.

"Oh-..." Queen and Azrael said in unison.

Grayson then went to his room to pack for his journey. In just a few minutes, was ready to head out. He made sure to store the 4 remaing barrels of alcohol in his cloud. This was going to be a long journey and expeling the rest of Dunamis’ intent could him good.

Just as he walked out of his room, he saw Lilith standing outside his door.

’This can’t be good!’ Grayson thought to himself.

"Trying to leave without me again?" Lilith said condescendingly.

"Lilith, I was on my way to your room to-." Grayson began to say then got swiftly cut off.

"Save it. Just tell me where we are going." Lilith commanded.

(Sighs)

"On a mission, to the north." Grayson said with a sigh.

"Good, let’s go." Lilith said then walked ahead towards the stairs.

Grayson soon followed and caught up with her. Just as he was about to warp away with her, The Bartender stopped them.

"Grayson, Lilith, I’m glad I caught you on your way out. Here’s your total bill." The Bartender said then handed them down a slip with a lot of zeros on it.

"What The Fuck! OVER 40 MILLION ELECTRUM! How the fuck did the bill get this high?" Grayson raged.

Grayson then turned to Lilith. To his surprise, she was no longer there. He could sense she was waiting outside.

’The audacity this woman!’ Grayson thought to himself.

"It was hard to keep track of her drinking these past weeks after the bill crossed 20 million. However, because we are such good friends, I’ll round it down to 40 for you." The Bartender said with an innocent smile.

"You knew this as I took those 10 barrels last night, yet you never mentioned anything." Grayson said to The Bartender with a poker face.

"Must have slipped my mind." The Bartender replied still keeping his innocent smile.

"I’m going on a mission right now, give me some time to make the pay." Grayson said.

"I don’t doubt that you will be able to pay, but you can’t just leave me empty handed. It would be a shame if I can’t even buy an expensive lunch for myself today." The Bartender said.

Grayson then took out 2 million electrum from his cloud and gave it to The Bartender with a heavy heart.

"This is everything I have on hand." Grayson said depressingly.

’Lilith!’ Grayson thought to himself with anger. He then finally walked out and met with Lilith.

"Hey Daddy." Lilith said seductively.

"Don’t you hey daddy me. How could you waste our money on booze?" Grayson scolded her.

"I was bored and you left me. Drinking is the only thing I could do to pass the time. I didn’t know it was so expensive though." Lilith defended herself with a pout.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t leave you here." Grayson said in a serious tone.

"You love me?" Lilith said playfully.

"Try again." Grayson replied.

"Do you really want to leave me here again and raise the bill even higher?" Lilith asked more seriously this time.

Grayson first stared at her deeply as if contemplating the realization of this.

"Fine, let’s go." Grayson said.

"You can still open your gates right?" Grayson asked.

"Yes why?" Lilith answered.

"Open a gate to where we landed when we first got to Evnoia. TThat will save us some time." Grayson said.

Lilith then opened a gate and they both walked through it. They were then met with a barren land with nothing but sand as far as the eye could see. A large section of the landscape was rough and destroyed. As if there was a battle there.

Recalling the events that took place last time they were there, Grayson felt regretful.
