Gabrielβs point of view
"Sir, Miss Thompson is downstairs. She wanted to see you," the maid stated. πππ¦β―πΈπ¦ππππ·β―π.πππ
I raised my head because I was surprised to hear that Olivia is here. She hates going here as she hates me, so this is surprising.
"Iβll be there," I replied.
She nodded before heading out and close the door. I looked at the mirror in my desk, fixed my tie and hair before spraying a perfume in my shirt. I marched outside my office to see Olivia. I went down the stairs and paused at the middle when I saw her, she was talking to a maid.
Her beauty is one of a kind. I only wish to have custody with my child, but to have that I need to win her trust and heart.
"I wasnβt expecting to see you here," I murmured.
The maid excuse herself and leave us alone. Olivia face me while raising her eyebrow, she seemed pissed. "Me too, Gabriel. But I know youβre behind my motherβs decision!"
I frowned, "What are you talking about?"
She take her phone out and do something with it. After that, she showed me a picture of her mother and our son. Olivia take it away from my face and said, "Did you help my mother kidnapped my son?"
"First of all, Olivia. She didnβt kidnapped our sonβ" she cut me off.
"My son, Gabriel. Heβs only my son, not yours, not ours. Now, be honest. Did you convince and help my mother?"
"I may or may have not convince or help her, Olivia."
Her eyebrows met and sheβs cute when mad. I canβt help but to chuckled, causing her to looked at me sharply.
"Whatβs funny, Gabriel? Oh, do you think this is funny? Do you think helping my mother kidnapped my son will change my mind? How desperate you are!"
I sighed, "Look, Liv. She ask me for help and I thought you knew about the vacation. Besides, itβs only one week vacation. Your mother wanted to help you, so do I."
"Well, I donβt need your help nor her help. I am fine," she answered.
"Why are you so mad? It was your momβs choice, not mine. She told me to help her arrange their vacation, and I did. Gavin seemed looking forward with the vacation, Olivia. If you can see how wide his smile is. Maybe you wonβt get mad like this," I commented.
"For pete sake, Gabriel. Heβs going to school and being tardy isnβt something I taught him," she said.
"Perhaps he inherit that from me," I stated.
I notice how she pauses like she wasnβt expecting me to say that. Iβm still holding on the DNA result, and hoping she would tell me the truth even though I already know the truth. I want Olivia to tell me Gavin is our son, and I want her to give me custody.
I will prove to her that giving me second chance is worth it. That risking everything is worth it.
"Iβm leaving," she murmured.
She turn around and was about to leave when I heard a creak coming from above. I looked up and saw the chandelier losing itβs screw, it was about to fall on Olivia.
"Olivia!" I shouted before running towards her.
I hugged her and pulled away from the location as the chandelier crash to the floor, scattering the glass pieces. I use my body as shield to prevent her from getting hurt, but my wasnβt save. I had a cut on my arm but I endure it.
"Are you okay?" I asked when we stood up.
She looked at the crash chandelier in horror before turning at me and widened in shocked after seeing my wound.
"Youβre hurt," she said.
"Iβm fine. We should get you check, Olivia."
"No, Iβm fine. But youβre not," she replied.
Olivia ripped the sleeve on my shirt and saw the deep cut in my arm. She take her handkerchief before wrapping it to my arm. Our faces were so close that I can hear her calm breathing, she stop and stare at me. Eye to eye.
Suddenly the our surroundings become quiet. Her brown eyes was stunning, and I am mesmerizing by it. It was like speaking to me.
"Young master! Are you okay?" The butler break the silence between us.
She parted from me before clearing her throat and replied to Sanchez, "Heβs hurt and definitely need to see a doctor."
I stood up and respond, "Iβm okay. Thereβs no need to see a doctor."
"Look at your arm, Gabriel. You are bleeding to death and has a deep wound, so you need to see a doctor."
"Sheβs right, young master. It seemed disturbing," Sanchez seconded it.
"Iβm alright," I insist.
She rolled her eyes, "Fine. If you say so, go ahead. Donβt see a doctor and let your blood dry out. But donβt make me feel guilty once you die because you run out of blood, Gabriel."
I smiled, "I wonβt."
I donβt know why but Iβm happy to have her attention. Olivia was worried at me despite not showing it for some reason, and Iβm enough with the attention Iβve get.
"How did the chandelier crash?" Sanchez questioned.
"The screws might loosen up, so thatβs why. Call a repair man to fix the floor and buy a new chandelier same as this because it was my momβs," I command.
"Here, take this."
I glanced at Olivia before taking the paper on her hand. "Whatβs this?"
"Thatβs my new number. I change it when you try to contact me two days ago, but youβre allowed to call me once you decided to see the doctor. I will cover the expenses," she explained.
"I will protect this with my life."
She looked at me weirdly, "Itβs just a number. Anyway, Iβll forget about what you did to my son because of what youβve done for me."
After saying those things, she left without further words. I watch her until she enter her car and drive away to the gate.
"You look in love, young master."
"I think I am, Sanchez."
"But you must be aware of your relationship with Miss Olivia. She is your step-sister, and your feelings for her will bring chaos to the family."
I exhaled deeply and answered, "I know, Sanchez. But Iβm willing to risk it just to have her heart."
