Chapter 343: 343 Extreme

[Margaret’s Perspective]

Just like me, Elliot shared an unspoken understanding with Donald. Utilizing the chance when Donald distracted the attention on the field, he slowly approached the helicopter with a few Lycans.

Donald, of course, would not abandon Eric and the others, and at the same time, he didn’t want Henry to escape from him again. That would be too unfair to those who had died in this rebellion war!

Levi didn’t respond to Donald’s question immediately. Holding his gun, he looked at Henry, who had already collapsed to the ground, and after a long pause finally continued, "You wouldn’t understand these things. You have stood high above for too long. It’s time for you to fall and see!"

"Does your aunt know about your trip south? Did she cry and make a fuss to stop you? Speaking of which, I really haven’t seen her for a long time. I should have attended your and Margaret’s wedding to ’congratulate’ you, but who knew about Martha..."

"Enough, Levi! If you keep babbling, we really won’t be able to leave today!"

The one who interrupted Levi was Henry; he swayed as he stood up, seeming to want to sprint towards the helicopter.

Realizing his intention, Donald and I almost simultaneously took action. I fired two shots at the ground tiles near his feet, while Donald quickly completed his shift and pounced directly at Henry.

Everything happened too quickly, too quickly for the helicopter’s gunner to react. Wolf, carrying Henry, smashed through the roof’s railing and almost fell off!

This was the 22nd floor of the building; even with the robust physical qualities of a werewolf, falling from such a height unscathed was impossible! More likely, they would smash into a pulp, beyond any hope of recovery.

This was something I absolutely couldn’t accept. I screamed Donald’s name hoarsely, completed my shift in half a second, and transformed into a streak of light, shooting out!

As Donald was about to be pulled off by Henry, I bit onto his hind leg with my mouth. Although this method was clumsily hilarious, the rescue effect was astonishing, slowing their descent considerably.

Soon, more Lycans rushed up to help pull them up. My stress dropped drastically, I spit out the silver fur from my mouth, and looked eye to eye with Henry hanging in the mid-air. "Levi can’t save you!" I declared.

A sneer flickered through Henry’s icy wolf eyes, as if he was talking to himself, "Is that so?" he said.

The next moment, Henry did something that made everyone’s jaw drop. He swatted away Donald’s wolf head, opened his mouth, and bit off his own hind leg that was being held, falling directly in the posture of hanging upside down!

"Don’t you think of escaping!" This was Donald’s roaring voice.

I tensed up every nerve in my brain and shouted urgently, "Donald! Get back here!"

My voice acted like a powerful seal; Donald immediately crouched in place, his wolf eyes regaining some lucidity. He was about to jump down to kill Henry!

"Quick! Pull Donald back." I said to the Lycans beside me and quickly stretched my neck to look over the edge of the roof.

Henry’s figure continued to fall. I couldn’t understand why he chose such a sure path to death. Did he think that smashing into pieces was a better fate than falling into my and Donald’s hands?

This curious thought was soon answered. How could someone as unkillable and sneaky as Henry easily decide to face death willingly? He still had a backup plan!

As we and Henry reignited the battle alert, Levi had already made a certain decision. Without hesitation, he kicked Eric out of the cabin and directed the helicopter to sweep backward and downward, clearly aiming to rendezvous with Henry.

He took a black crossbow from a subordinate’s hand, squinting as he focused on Henry falling.

Then, without hesitation, he pulled the trigger. The specially made crossbow bolt, with a steel cable attached, swiftly shot downward, the next second piercing through Henry’s shoulder. The bolt head locked onto Henry’s bone, the cable instantly taut, miraculously holding onto Henry’s falling body!

I widened my eyes at this scene, swallowed hard, and incredulously turned back to look at Levi in the cabin. He just waved his hand at the pilot behind him, smiled at me with a light smirk, and said a word before turning his head and disappearing into the cabin.

The noise of the helicopter blades was loud, but it didn’t carry his words to my ears. Still, by clearly reading his lips, I knew, he said: "See you next time!"

I took a deep breath, feeling like I was about to explode on the spot from anger! Henry, Levi, each one of them was a fanatic extremist, a madman to the core. Ordinary people could never truly understand what was going through their minds.

Henry’s bitten-off hind leg was thrown aside by Donald, who then walked over to me, gasping heavily. In a hoarse voice, he asked, "Are you alright, Margaret? Are you hurt?"

I didn’t turn back to look at Donald, just stared at the helicopter disappearing into the night sky and muttered dejectedly, "The enemy is really too terrifying. I’m beginning to question what is really going on with this world. I..."
