Chapter 1893: Chapter 392: Killing One’s Own Child Without Regret

At the moment Mahdi arrived on the battlefield.

Taking advantage of the situation, Michael broke free from Axel’s suppression and thrust a spear towards his father, like a meteor crashing to the ground, piercing through the air.

This spear was contrary to his previous overwhelming style, instead extremely concentrated, solitary, cold, countless beams of light forming a spiral, rapidly spinning and gathering force inward, while the core of the Spear of Light almost stagnated due to multiple light pressures, with material particles ceasing motion, reaching a temperature close to absolute zero.

This intertwining of extreme cold and heat, where extremes meet, returning to simplicity, was like a meteor falling from the sky to the earth, initially unnoticed, until it reached before one’s eyes, only then realizing the terrifying destruction contained within.

This spear had already reached the pinnacle, showcasing Michael’s true skill, kept hidden all this time, waiting for Axel to be distracted!

And whether Axel was completely drawn by Mahdi’s attention or simply didn’t intend to dodge, he merely glanced slightly aside, his expression unchanged, allowing the spear to pierce his chest.

The moment he was pierced, thunderbolts erupted from within him, clouds and mist-like threads, extremely dense, seemingly tangible, vibrating as if alive.

Rapidly circulating, the bright inscription array flickered with the thunder’s vibration, in an instant, Axel himself transformed into a thunderbolt, like a spark from the creation of the universe.

Michael’s Demon Spear could pierce through anything, the absolute zero spear tip halted light, penetrated lightning, but as it truly struck Axel’s chest, the absolute zero condensed by spiral lasers trembled.

Under electromagnetic oscillations deep into the microscopic level, the spear tip maintaining absolute zero shattered.

The Spear of Light dispersed, searing rays of light shot in all directions, causing molten geysers and craters across the Plains of Quinor. If not for the protection of the Imperial Capital during the Calamity of Light, the aftershocks alone could have killed millions.

"The Absolute Zero Spear, if it could hit my core, could indeed severely injure me."

Axel raised his index finger, forming a spear, stabbing towards Michael’s heart: "This is what I told you, the essence of the Sunbird is light, is electromagnetic, not high heat or flames. Focus on the nature of light, not its external manifestations."

"You learned well."

Michael did not reply, his right hand formed an empty grasp, once more forming the Spear of Light to clash against Axel’s finger. The sharp point flashed, breaking through the light beam, but the shattered beams, like petals, traced arcs, piercing Michael’s shoulder and wings.

"Damn, it’s a trap..."

The beams weren’t very damaging, but Michael inwardly cursed because they precisely targeted and neutralized the field constituting his Aether True Body, creating eight near-absolute-zero, sunspot-like cold nodes within him, disrupting his operation temporarily, even slowing his thoughts.

And at this moment, Mahdi, who was supposed to join Michael in attacking Axel from both sides, did not make a move. Instead, he trembled in the air, and invisible gravitational waves, like a stormy sea, swept toward a pure white sky curtain.

Sure enough, under the interference of strong gravitational waves, thousands of ’traps’ hidden in the Calamity of Light were revealed. Those were photon mines; if Mahdi dared approach recklessly, he would have met a grim fate.

Axel, directly intervening, could reflect gravitational counterforce through impact, but mines couldn’t be handled that way.

"Mahdi... a year ago you were at Third Energy Level, yet now you match my power. It seems Teacher Hiliard is gone; you’ve inherited his and your father’s entire legacy." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Just as Ian was about to detonate all the photon mines in one go, Axel’s voice rose again. With his will, the photon mines covering most of the skies detonated simultaneously.

Instantly, numerous sharp light fields erupted, intersecting midair, dividing into two, then four. Harnessing the Calamity of Light’s power, it constantly replicated itself in the atmosphere, refracting endlessly, ultimately bombarding Mahdi from all directions in a spiral, like the converging leaves of a Mimosa plant.

Mahdi took a step forward, his surrounding gravitational field like a tidal whirlpool, deflecting the beams, while simultaneously, his body turned crystalline, clear, bright, and transparent. Beams could not be deflected or reflected, piercing through his body, mostly passing through, scattered by the crystals within, striking the ground. A small portion transformed into a clear light, accumulating within, becoming Mahdi’s reserve energy.

But it wasn’t over. On the other side, Michael had already recovered, concentrating light into a sword. In the instant Axel attacked Mahdi, he slashed three times, each sword like a great ocean whale, devouring all the surrounding energy. For a moment, the sky was no longer unbearably hot but cold as winter, with only three sword lights slicing crisscross, tearing through the void.

Axel’s expression remained unchanged. His Aether True Body, appearing as a Seraph, met the attack, countless eyes shattering under Michael’s sword light, turning to golden flames in the sky. The shell of the Aether True Body cracked slightly, reflecting back to his human form, causing blood-red scars to explode across his entire body.
