Abyss Sequence-Chapter 437 - 12: Eve
Relocate?
Even Yan Luo was stunned for two seconds before understanding what the Lord of Mayin City meant.
—They want to move from Alfheim to Blue Star!
After a brief thought, Yan Luo understood why the Lord of Mayin City wanted to do this.
First, Blue Star’s medical facilities are definitely much better than those in Alfheim. Relying solely on the current medical equipment brought in to treat an entire city’s elves is undoubtedly a drop in the ocean;
Secondly, the water supply in Mayin City has already been contaminated, and the Lord doesn’t know how many parasites are waiting to hatch or control bodies within the elves, nor how many elves have not been parasitized. Therefore, staying away from the infected environment is the safest course of action.
Other cities currently have no spare effort to support Mayin City, but Blue Star surely has enough capacity to protect the elves of Mayin City.
No wonder the Lord of Mayin City is the most knowledgeable elf in the territory. To think of these solutions in such a short time is truly admirable.
Feeling a bit moved, Yan Luo asked the Lord of Mayin City, "Lord, are you sure you want to do this?"
The lord responded with a complicated smile: "We have no other choice now."
Mayin City seemingly has many options, but other than the solution the Lord just thought of, they have no other ways to resolve the parasite incident.
"Alright."
Yan Luo nodded, took out the jade talisman, opened the space portal, and returned to the Crimson Abyss.
When Yan Luo returned to Blue Star, he received a communication from the United Government.
"Thank heavens, Mr. Yan, you finally answered."
The United Government employee on the other end of the line sighed with relief.
Yan Luo got straight to the point: "Has the United Government approved Mayin City’s application to join Blue Star?"
The employee was taken aback, "Uh, yes, that’s correct, we have approved the application..."
He wanted to say more, but was interrupted by Yan Luo.
Yan Luo nodded and said, "Great. The residents of Mayin City plan to move now. You have one day to prepare about 1.21 million elves who will be coming through the Crimson Abyss to No. 2 Crimson. Before officially starting the operation, you need to have enough security and living resources ready."
The employee’s face changed, "Wait..."
"Don’t say ’wait a minute’, the residents of Mayin City are experiencing a cataclysmic disaster. It’s out of desperation that they come to seek our help," Yan Luo interrupted again sternly, "If the rescue is not timely, many elves will die unnecessarily, and that’s something I don’t want to see. So, you need to report this immediately and urge your superiors to act quickly!"
After speaking, Yan Luo hung up, leaving the overwhelmed employee alone at his work station.
He was just a low-level government employee, and even though he worked for the United Government, at heart he was just a grassroots employee, lacking the ability to ’urge superiors’.
With a mindset of giving up, the employee reported Yan Luo’s words as they were, without any artistic modifications to soften Yan Luo’s tone.
As expected, his superior got angry upon hearing Yan Luo’s original words.
See, anyone would get upset in such a situation!
No matter how Yan Luo’s message to the United Government employee got reported up to the parliament, after ending the call with the employee, Yan Luo contacted Wu Zechuan. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"What? The Lord of Mayin City is preparing to relocate the entire city?!"
Even Wu Zechuan, upon hearing such startling news, was utterly flabbergasted.
To relocate an entire city’s elves to Blue Star is no small matter.
Currently, No. 2 Crimson has a population of only about a hundred thousand, less than one-tenth of Mayin City, so it is simply incapable of housing so many elves.
Even as a transit point, No. 2 Crimson is inadequate.
Even if all shelters were used, No. 2 Crimson couldn’t accommodate a million elves.
Not to mention No. 2 Crimson; if Lingquan City were to accommodate a million elves, it would also be a significant challenge for Lingquan City.
However, according to the information provided by Yan Luo, bringing all the elves of Mayin City to Blue Star is the more correct approach.
Because Blue Star evidently can’t support the daily water needs of a million elves from afar, disinfecting the water source is just a temporary measure that can’t ensure that the entity responsible won’t contaminate the water source again with parasite eggs.
Disinfection isn’t something that can happen constantly; it consumes too much and can harm the water supply.
So, relocating a million elves en masse to Blue Star is the most correct approach for now.
Wu Zechuan was only momentarily shocked, quickly regaining composure as he directly set aside his current work to contact others, starting arrangements to aid in the relocation.
No. 2 Crimson definitely can’t accommodate a million elves but must fulfill its role as a transit point.
"Besides this, there is something else I need to tell you."
Yan Luo’s voice came through the headset while Wu Zechuan multitasked, assigning tasks to subordinates to reach out to the influential figures within No. 2 Crimson, all while listening to Yan Luo.
"During this time in Alfheim, we encountered one of the two Saints of the elf race, Fuer Hongfeng. He is a half-blood of elf and human Saints, having lived for at least eight thousand years. He knows some things about the universe, and most importantly, he knows how Evil Gods are born."
Hearing this, Wu Zechuan felt a tremor inside, "How are Evil Gods born?"
"An Evil God is born from the ideological trends of a civilization. As long as there is contact with Magic Power, an Evil God is bound to emerge. The ancient Blue Star Civilization, our ancestors, chose to fracture their ancient civilization and seal Magic Power because they understood this after learning it from aliens. They were too powerful; once an Evil God was nurtured, it would inevitably sweep through the Milky Way, and perhaps even cause their own demise. So, they chose to seal Magic Power."
"I hope to use the ’helping Mayin City relocate’ matter to awaken people’s pride and goodwill, hopefully turning it into a world-class activity with global participation. This way, honor might be etched in people’s hearts, and when our Evil God emerges in the future, we may weaken it somewhat."
Can this be done?
Yan Luo didn’t know.
But if you don’t try, how will you know if it’s possible?
After listening to Yan Luo’s explanation, Wu Zechuan remained restless, his mind tumultuous, even neglecting his task assignments to subordinates.
Fortunately, he soon regained his composure, exhaling a long breath of stale air.
"I will help you convey this matter to the high-ups of the United Government," Wu Zechuan said.
The high-ups of the United Government must be aware that Evil Gods emerge from the ideological currents of civilization. Based on Blue Star’s current cultural form, if an Evil God is to be born from today’s Blue Star’s current, it might become the worst Evil God embodying abstraction and malevolence.
On the other end of the phone, Yan Luo nodded, "Then I will contact Aunt Min."
The mass relocation of Mayin City’s elves has almost become a foregone conclusion, but waiting for the United Government to officially start would be too late. So Yan Luo plans to bypass the United Government and first inform the Lingquan City Government so that they can prepare in advance.
After hanging up with Wu Zechuan, Yan Luo began to reach out to Min Jinglan.
In just a few days, Yan Luo contacted her again, and Min Jinglan had a bad feeling.
And she was right; Yan Luo wasn’t contacting her for good news.
"Aunt Min, the situation in Mayin City is critical now. They plan to relocate the entire city to Blue Star, with approximately 1.21 million elves. The city closest to No. 2 Crimson is Lingquan City, and I hope you can help arrange housing and food. Don’t worry about the initial relocation work, the Hunters of No. 2 Crimson will take on many tasks."
Min Jinglan found Yan Luo’s self-centered manner of speaking quite troublesome.
Accommodating a million elves—is this a small matter? Is it something that can be casually arranged?
"Xiaoluo, this matter..."
Min Jinglan wanted to say something but was interrupted by Yan Luo: "Aunt Min, I know this is difficult to execute, but this is a great opportunity to act first and report afterward. If the United Government gets involved, the benefits that the elves of Mayin City bring might not be fully received by Lingquan City."
Upon hearing this, Min Jinglan quickly said, "I will arrange this matter immediately!"
If not, should they just watch as the benefits that originally belonged to them are taken away?
