Abyss Sequence-Chapter 452 - 27: Tracing the Trail
For fifteen days, Yan Luo has been bloodletting endlessly, day and night.
Although the Abyss Strategy Battle is about to begin, with Yan Luo being the only member of the strategy team to battle the Master of the Abyss, he still adhered to the agreement, preparing rewards in advance for participating Hunters.
The reward he prepared for them was "full share," meaning that for however many Hunters participated, he would draw the corresponding amount of blood.
Even though this battle will inevitably result in casualties, surely there will be redundancy, Yan Luo nevertheless prepared a portion of Saint’s Blood for each participating Hunter.
Having prepared the Saint’s Blood, Yan Luo didn’t store it away but instead returned to No.2 Crimson to hand it over to Wu Zechuan for safekeeping.
Yan Luo didn’t trust anyone else, always feeling that they might betray him.
Wu Zechuan was different; he was very aware of his position in Yan Luo’s eyes, understanding Yan Luo’s tolerance level — even if he were to betray, he would only distribute it to familiar faces around him.
But Wu Zechuan’s familiar faces had long ingested the Saint’s Blood, including his fiancee, leaving no reason for betrayal.
After handing the blood to Wu Zechuan, Yan Luo returned to Bright Silver No. 3.
In the past half month, Yan Luo had been using Magic Power to supplement his bodily nourishment, ensuring he didn’t bleed himself out to death; thus, his cellular transformation progress was only slightly short of fully transforming himself.
Nevertheless, Yan Luo no longer planned to wait; now, he was at his peak, so if not now, when for the Abyss Strategy Battle?
Even after fifteen days of bloodletting, with constant Magic Power supplementation, Yan Luo’s condition was excellent; he didn’t need rest.
Thus, he declared to the exploration towns around Bright Silver Abyss and all of Blue Star that the second Bright Silver Abyss Strategy Battle would commence immediately.
This time, the strategy team consisted solely of Yan Luo; he knew the location of the Master of the Abyss, as the strategy team in the first Abyss Strategy Battle had already identified its location.
Even if the Master of the Abyss surely changed location, Yan Luo understood its movement patterns and thought process; for a top-level Hunter like him, finding the Master of the Abyss was effortlessly simple.
Hence, after declaring the start of the second Bright Silver Abyss Strategy Battle, Yan Luo ventured alone into Bright Silver Abyss, treading upon the desert and moonlight towards the first target location.
It was the site of the first Bright Silver Abyss Strategy Battle where the strategy team fought the Master of the Abyss; once Yan Luo arrived, he might find traces of the Master of the Abyss.
Of course, it was only "perhaps," as nearly a year had passed.
Bright Silver Abyss is a stagnant world; here, time flows, yet objects don’t change with time.
Permanent terrain changes don’t occur here; even if an oasis vanishes, it won’t be long before it quietly reappears.
However, no permanent terrain changes mean small-scale environmental changes can occur.
For instance, marking trees in the oasis may persist, as long as the oasis hasn’t been "refreshed."
The location of the first strategy team’s battle with the Master of the Abyss was near an oasis, and Yan Luo was uncertain if there were traces.
If there were traces, he could track them, while if none were found, he could pursue based on Hunters’ sightings of the Master of the Abyss during Bright Silver Abyss activities.
The first strategy team had already summarized the Master of the Abyss’s behavior patterns, so by following their conclusions, Yan Luo could easily find the Master of the Abyss.
The internal space of Bright Silver Abyss is larger than the Crimson Abyss; even now, though Yan Luo could fly, traversing this Abyss would take over twenty hours.
The entrance to Bright Silver No. 3 was somewhat far from the first target location, but for Yan Luo, it was only a matter of hours.
He needn’t even fly; mere walking would lead him to the target in several hours.
Yan Luo strolled upon the silver sands, leaving a long trail of footprints which occasionally wind and sand blew away the shallow imprints.
His walking speed wasn’t slow; however, under the magnetic field’s influence, Yan Luo’s weight greatly reduced, so he didn’t leave deep impressions in the desert sand.
The earth beneath his feet appeared shortened; Yan Luo seemed only to be walking, but every step spanned dozens of meters.
While walking, Yan Luo regulated his breathing, ensuring his state remained at its peak.
On this trek, an unwise City-breaking Level Demon emerged from below the sand to attack him—only to be immediately crushed by Yan Luo’s fist upon surfacing.
The Demon resembling a beetle couldn’t withstand Yan Luo’s punch; its hard shell shattered, and the magnetic field’s power penetrated the beetle Demon’s body, cutting off its lifeforce.
Casually killing a City-breaking Level Demon, Yan Luo didn’t even glance before taking giant lizard roast from his waist pouch, biting down.
Even if much Magic Power from the Catastrophe Level Demon’s roast dispersed, it remained the best supplement for Yan Luo.
After walking for hours, Yan Luo finally arrived at the first target location.
It was an oasis, Yan Luo looked around, then squatted down, placing his palm on the ground, using the magnetic field’s power to vibrate the earth.
Vibrations spread across the ground in all directions; this provocative shaking soon drew many Demons hidden beneath the sand.
They burst forth from the sand in droves, surrounding the oasis that Yan Luo occupied.
"None?"
Yan Luo scanned the surroundings, noticing no trace of the Master of the Abyss among the Demons, and shortly soared into the sky, swiftly charging toward one Demon.
Leaping mid-air to shatter the target Demon’s shell, Yan Luo reversed his fist, blasting down the moth that leapt into the sky from the oasis.
Stones and sand flew as fierce winds raged.
The battle between Yan Luo and the Demons ravaged the oasis, destroying most of it.
After slaying all the Demons, Yan Luo departed, leaving behind a heap of dissipating Demon corpses, wiping the blood and flesh residue from the corner of his mouth, awakening the terminal’s offline map, and headed to the second target location.
The Master of the Abyss for Bright Silver No. 3 was an enormous beetle, though insect-like, its scale was larger than most originally gigantic sized Demons.
This Demon, when active, was hard to remain unnoticed.
The identity of the Master of the Abyss had long been grasped by Hunters active within Bright Silver Abyss; upon discovering it, Hunters recorded observations and withdrew.
The Master of the Abyss was stronger than any Demon within the Abyss; this was one of the Abyss’s unchanging rules.
Moreover, they could summon Demons to protect themselves; unless a prepared strategy team faced the Master of the Abyss, ordinary Hunters encountering it head-on—if escape wasn’t possible—meant only death, no chance of victory.
However, that was true for other Hunters.
Yan Luo differed; he was a Saint, power inherent, not requiring engraving activation—unlikely to be injured even in chaotic combat.
Thus, the Master of the Abyss’s ability to summon Demons swarming became largely... no, completely futile—even providing Yan Luo an advantage.
Yan Luo could replenish Magic Power just by consuming Demon flesh; at his digestion rate, a chunk of Demon flesh couldn’t take more than minutes to convert into Magic Power supplementing him.
Under these circumstances, the Master of the Abyss summoning Demons to surround Yan Luo was practically feeding him supplements.
That’s why Yan Luo had the boldness to challenge the Master of the Abyss solo.
Finding a location in the desert was difficult, but if the oasis’s positions never changed within that desert, it was another matter.
Simply drawing auxiliary lines based on surrounding oases’ positions—where several lines intersected marked the target location.
Following the information Hunters gathered, Yan Luo sought the target site, soon reaching the second target location. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
According to the Hunter providing this intel, they had observed the Master of the Abyss hunting a City-breaking Level Demon, possibly just passing by; this wasn’t its den.
However, they were unaware that the Master of the Abyss still was a Demon, and since a Demon, it adhered to a "territory" concept.
The Master of the Abyss hunting here indicated it was within its territory.
Yan Luo arrived at the target location, surveyed the surroundings, nodded in marking, then promptly headed to the third target location.
