Chapter 143: 086 Yang Ming’s Revenge_2
Though he said so, the old Emperor still waved his hand gently, and the maids bowed and withdrew.
Princess Dana, the beautiful lady sitting at the side of the long table with an elegant demeanor, said with a smile, “Your Majesty, since you have state affairs to deal with, I’ll return to rest first.”
“You don’t need to leave,” Edwan spoke suddenly.
Princess Dana appeared puzzled and turned her head to look at Edwan.
Edwan quickly added, “I trust you.”
Princess Dana’s eyes flickered slightly. She smiled and nodded at Edwan before retiring and leaving.
“Alright, you surely know how to apply what you’ve learned immediately,” the old Emperor patted the seat beside him, “come and sit, my poor Edwan. The attack on that captain is probably quite a blow to you; I truly hope you are clear-headed now.”
“I am supremely clear-headed, Father.”
Edwan sat upright in the chair, organizing his thoughts, and soon spoke,
“Father, you should know that over the years, I’ve spent a lot of money building an intelligence network, covering both inside and outside Ilando Star, to monitor those spies.”
“Indeed,” the old Emperor replied with a smile, “you’ve done very well.”
“So, in fact, I detected the New Federation agents’ plan quite early on,” Edwan said quickly, “they have been targeting Yang Ming for some time. The New Federation agents are convinced that the attack they suffered before—the series of explosions in the suburbs—was a plot orchestrated by me and Yang Ming, directly targeted at them.”
“Oh?”
The old Emperor gazed intently at Edwan, “Did you really plan it?”
“Yes,” Edwan responded calmly, his expression flawless, “I have a profound aversion to these New Federation agents, and I cannot let them threaten your safety, Father; those three Mecha are a huge problem.”
“Good child,” the old Emperor sighed, “if your brothers had half your dedication, this country wouldn’t be… Speak your mind, you’ve laid enough groundwork.”
“The Yang Ming who was killed by the explosion was merely a replacement robot…”

Edwan narrated calmly, telling the story Yang Ming had prepared for him.
In this tale, they sacrificed that limited-edition monster vehicle to feign Yang Ming’s death, deceiving the New Federation agents.
Because the incident happened suddenly, Yang Ming received the information only minutes before the New Federation agents acted, so there was no time for further discussions with Edwan.
“Now, we can take follow-up actions, Father.”
Edwan whispered, “I hope you can order the silent mobilization of the Third and Fourth Guard Corps, commencing a synchronized capture operation against the New Federation agents.”
“Oh?”
The old Emperor leaned back, his eyes reflecting a hint of contemplation.
Edwan immediately presented the prepared list of New Federation agents active within Ilando City and the forces on the Fifth Administrative Star.
The old Emperor frowned, “This plan seems a bit hasty; theoretically, we should convene a meeting with several generals. The Guard Corps are our royal family’s final elite force, so we must be cautious.”
“Father, if the information spreads or if we miss the current opportunity, the enemy will become alert.”
Edwan said,
“Pretend to capture agents throughout Ilando City while genuinely attacking the agent strongholds in the rebellious city of the Fifth Administrative Star, to dampen the New Federation agents’ arrogance. We can resolve all battles before dawn on Ilando Star!”
“Oh, this…”
The old Emperor raised his hand, rubbing his brow, “Edwan, you should not understand military affairs.”
“This is Yang Ming’s plan,” Edwan smiled, “I do not understand military affairs, but I know how to position talent. Father, I have learned from you for over thirty years.”
The old Emperor still could not make up his mind.
‘Edwan, if His Majesty continues to hesitate and can’t decide, you might try saying—perhaps we could consult the Sherman Empire’s Foreign Affairs Bureau to see if they support us.’
Does this work?
Edwan felt a bit doubtful.
This goading tactic is really… too superficial…
“Father, or perhaps we could consult the Sherman Empire’s Foreign Affairs Bureau to see if they support us.”
The old Emperor’s gaze subtly changed.
“Edwan, are you teaching me how to do things?”
Edwan quickly stood up, bowed his head in salute, “Father, please forgive my momentary slip.”
“I am the Emperor,” the old Emperor said indifferently, “the master of this planet, this country, under my rule, my words are the law. Summon Fremont inside and convey my orders.”
It really worked!
Edwan’s eyes lit up as he looked at his father, who suddenly exuded a heavy aura of authority, and he grinned.
…
Fifteen minutes later.
The Guard Army base beneath the Imperial Palace resounded with urgent alarm bells.
The Third and Fourth Guard Corps swiftly assembled, everyone handed in all communication devices, maintaining radio silence, with messages passed unidirectionally through captains, team leaders, deputy captains, squad leaders, and section leaders.
They mounted full individual armor with utmost speed and rushed toward their dedicated vehicles.
Hovering armored cars moved out like a swarm of bees from the underground base.
Nominally, this retaliatory capture operation was commanded by Fremont.
In practice, Fremont was standing at the command desk with a bewildered expression, watching new information continually appear and transmitting each mobilization message to the encryption communication devices of the squad commanders.
Not asking where to go, not asking who to capture, with weapons fully loaded and permitted to shoot any armed enemy on sight.
The convoy dismissed the usual road restrictions, speeding apart from the grand interchange bridge of the Imperial Palace like blooming fireworks, rushing toward various parts of Ilando City.
