"Go ahead."

"Is there anything else you’ve taken care of without my knowledge?"

Silence.

Not a nervous silence.

A measured silence.

Then the answer came.

A polite phrase.

But it carried weight.

I almost smiled.

"The definition of ’inconvenience’ is relative."

"I tried to adhere to your standards."

I raised an eyebrow slightly.

"My standards?"
