Achieving Nothing, I Can Only Be the Pirate King-Chapter 598 - 354: New Scores to Settle
Sage surveyed the surroundings, observing the battle remnants amidst the fallen corpses and those dilapidated internal structures.
He focused on a corpse kneeling on its legs, with its upper body leaning back against the wall.
Just above the head of the corpse, two indentations could be seen, very close yet varying in power, one deep and one shallow.
If one didn’t look carefully at these two indentations, the difference wouldn’t be noticeable.
However, Sage could tell that this was damage caused by the joint attack of the Long-armed Race.
The Long-armed Race has two elbows.
The mark was made by an elbow, and the distance negated the possibility of a double elbow strike, lacking a stable stance.
So it could only be that a member of the Long-armed Race struck down with an elbow, but missed the first time due to an instinctive squat by the target.
Yet...
Right at the center of the forehead of this corpse, there was a finger-sized hole, which was the fatal wound.
Moreover, it was so fast that the attack left no room for reaction or defense, turning the squat into a kneeling position.
Not only is it from the Long-armed Race, but also...
"Las."
"Master."
At Sage’s call, Las, who was following behind, walked over.
After a year, Las was now nine years old. Compared to the somewhat frail body when he first joined, he had become much sturdier.
Although he couldn’t compare to those extraordinarily talented ones, he had his own Demon Race specialty, and through long-term training, he had mastered the Six Styles.
Even among the Demon Race, his aptitude was the best.
Though only nine, he had already participated in some battles with remarkable performance, once managing to take down half a Pirates by himself.
This was nothing exaggerated, not to mention Charlotte Linlin subduing a Giant Race village at the age of five.
Jack at eight was already fighting around with Kaido, and Lucci at thirteen was executing solo missions.
The young have strength too.
"Let me test you, can you identify this individual’s specific traits?" Sage said.
"Yes, Master."
Las glanced around, first walking to a place where two corpses lay, just outside the camp, with a campfire nearby.
The burning wood was evidently only half-burnt and then forcibly extinguished.
Las with his pitch-black eyes, absent of any white, carefully observed the campfire, and then looked at the slightly decomposed corpses, saying:
"The abdomen shows slash marks, attacked at the same time with equal force, creating a gash. The traces of the campfire blow this way, related to wind pressure... likely a Soaring Slash."
He looked at the scattered corpses within the camp, saying: "The vital areas have finger-sized holes, like from Flintlock Guns, very fast, shot with extremely fast Flintlock Guns."
"But if it’s a swordsman capable of Soaring Slash, they shouldn’t continuously use Flintlock Guns, plus..."
Las looked at the ground, at those footprints seemingly made by heavy stomping.
"The footprints are chaotic, like dozens of steps taken at once. Hit by gunfire with no gunpowder, except for the two at the entrance with gashes, no other slashing marks."
He paused, then said: "Rankyaku, Finger Gun, Soru... our people must have reacted in the end, drawing their weapons, but some weapons fell too far from the bodies, with hands still holding the shape of gripping swords, indicating they slashed and were flung away."
"There are no other footsteps around the camp. On this soft soil, any step would leave a mark, indicating that the person left using some flying ability after the massacre here."
"Tekkai, Moon Step. Knowing five, the sixth would certainly be known too."
Las said to Sage: "Master, the opponent is a person proficient in the Six Styles."
"Excellent!"
Sage heartily laughed, ruffling Las’s head, "Well observed, exactly right!"
He realized something was off with the battle remnants here.
Having faced the three Pirate Emperors, Sage was a hundred percent certain, that his proficiency in Body Techniques was unmatched on the sea.
This level of proficiency allowed him to understand who made the move upon seeing the battle remnants.
That’s why he came personally.
Besides a Long-armed Race, it was also a damn Six Styles adept! 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Six Styles... yet not the Navy."
Lily furrowed her brows, instinctively glancing at Jabra.
"It’s nothing to do with us."
Jabra shook his head repeatedly, "Our Pirates are now on the not-easily-engage list, the government’s CP Organization wouldn’t make a move, and even if they did, they wouldn’t commit such acts."
Though agents excel at infiltration and backstab, they absolutely follow orders, if ordered not to act, they won’t.
If ordered to act, agents wouldn’t massacre on this little island, as it’s meaningless.
Fix Island garrison nearly two hundred people, not because its specialty is significant, purely because it’s close to Big Mom and Kaido, leaving so many as a front line guard.
Otherwise, a standard Pirates crew would be enough for an island of such size.
This number means nothing to the Disaster Pirates, aside from angering Sage.
