Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Seize the Moment and Enjoy Life

Ian Lynch couldn’t understand what kind of mind would come up with such a silly plan; it was truly embarrassing.

Shelley Lynch looked at the door firmly shut and felt a surge of aggrieved unwillingness.

She didn’t want to go abroad; she wanted the shares!

Before Sophia Lowell and the others returned, Zeke Lowell had promised to give everything he earned in his lifetime to Ian and Shelley Lynch.

It was just something that happened over the past two years.

Now that Sophia has arrived, all the plans are disrupted.

Shelley Lynch thought that after traveling the world, she could naturally take over, living a life of superiority right after graduation.

If she had returned earlier, Sophia wouldn’t even be able to step through the door now.

She called Tim Sawyer to explain the situation.

Tim Sawyer said nothing and hung up the phone.

Shelley’s brain really is dumb; not only did she fail to accomplish anything, she also exposed herself.

Now it’s even harder for her to get things done!

Ian also proved to be smart; as soon as Shelley mentioned Tim Sawyer in front of him, he knew that this idea could not have come from his blockheaded sister.

After the incident with Tim Sawyer and Nancy Sawyer, no one dared to mention their names, and yet Shelley dared to compare Tim Sawyer to Sophia, truly overestimating herself.

Ian walked out the door, heading to the first floor.

Zane Sterling was sitting on the sofa making a phone call; seeing Ian come down, he hung up the phone.

"Sorry for the trouble." Ian felt overwhelmed.

Zane ignored the previous issue, knowing Ian would handle it. This all had something to do with the shares anyway.

He didn’t want to make things hard for Ian, who indeed found himself in a tight spot.

Zane asked, "Is my sister pregnant?"

"How did you know?"

"Been reading some books on the topic recently." He smiled slightly.

Ian nodded meaningfully, "The situation isn’t stable yet. Only a few people know. We’ll talk when the time is right."

Zane likely guessed.

"By the way, any news on Tim Sawyer recently?" Ian asked.

Zane shook his head.

He hadn’t seen this person in a long time, even just hearing the name made him uneasy.

"Why bring this person up?"

"Be cautious around this person."

The fact that Ian brought this up naturally meant he had his reasons, but he raised this at a critical juncture, which was probably related to Shelley.

Zane guessed a few things.

Ian didn’t hide it, saying, "Shelley’s actions were probably taught by Tim Sawyer."

Hearing this confirmed response, Zane felt quite frustrated, and anger emerged within him.

*

Early the next morning, Zane left first.

Sophia Lowell had a good night’s sleep; she didn’t wake up until the sun was high, only getting up when Willow Sterling called her.

She had now figured out the habits of The Sterling Family: if asleep past midnight, they’d likely wake up only by twelve the next day.

So she didn’t get up so early.

It was Willow who got up a bit earlier, waking up from hunger.

Last night, the two had agreed to go to the backyard studio for a break and to relax.

As Sophia Lowell finished washing up and headed out, she coincidentally ran into Shelley opening the door.

Seeing Sophia made Shelley feel a surge of heat, recalling the absurd things she did last night.

But she still felt unwilling in her heart.

15% of the shares was not a small amount, and they were about to slip away.

She furrowed her brow and braced herself to go downstairs together. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Sophia had no idea what had happened last night, and neither of them said hello, as if by mutual agreement.

In the dining room.

"Sis-in-law." Shelley sat down next to Willow with a smile.

Shelley was fond of this sister-in-law; Willow would always bring her a portion of whatever she had, feeling they were like real sisters, except her brother was rather distant with her.

Willow didn’t deliberately keep a distance, giving face when necessary. She maintained usual interactions, but avoided involvement if problems arose.

She didn’t particularly like Shelley.

Having married into someone else’s family, it’s best not to strain relations unnecessarily; she wouldn’t break ties unless necessary.

"Shelley." Willow greeted her, and then waved to Sophia approaching, "Sophia, over here."

The seat next to her was reserved for Sophia, leaving Shelley awkwardly to sit on the other side.

She felt some jealousy, feeling like her cake had been taken by someone else, as her sister-in-law had always been nice to her at home.

Sophia smiled, "Willow."

She sat down, with a cup of cooled sweet milk and a crab yolk bun already on the table.

Willow secretly whispered in Sophia’s ear, "The outfit I asked you to make last time might not fit. Have you made it? If not, don’t make it yet."

After hearing this, Sophia’s mind struggled to catch up. Her gaze moved to Willow’s belly, guessing something yet not asking, nodding in agreement.

Willow liked communicating with smart people and didn’t need to elaborate.

After breakfast, Sophia drove Willow to the studio.

"Morning!" Corinne Chapman was watering flowers in the courtyard, while a recently hired aunt was cleaning.

"Morning." Sophia entered with Willow.

"Morning." Willow glanced at the aunt, finding her familiar, but couldn’t recall where they had met.

Sophia stayed busy all morning, while Willow leisurely enjoyed her time in the courtyard.

In the upstairs studio in the backyard, Sophia and Hugh Irving were discussing the details of a customized evening gown, their collaboration getting smoother compared to the beginning.

"I’m going to take a few days off in early June," Hugh suddenly said.

Sophia found it strange; Hugh was always focused on design every day of the year, so taking a break was quite rare for her.

"Did something come up?" she asked.

"My mom’s getting married for the third time." Hugh smiled lightly, "The guy is 7 years younger than her."

Sophia didn’t comment. She knew Mrs. Irving had a captivating charm and maintained her figure well. Her collagen-filled face was bought with money, so being with a young lover was unsurprising.

"So you’re attending the wedding?"

"I skipped her second wedding; I want to see the third."

"Sounds good. I’m quite envious of Auntie, living life to the fullest without worrying about the future, just being happy at the moment. You should open your mind too."

What Sophia wanted her to open her mind about wasn’t Mrs. Irving, but issues related to Hugh herself.

Sophia knew Hugh had a bit of a liking for Ethan Sinclair but was just scared.

Live in the moment.

Hugh pondered her words and smiled.

"Live in the moment"—Mrs. Irving had said those words to her before too.

When Mrs. Irving married Hugh’s father, she went through a lot of hardship, starting a business from scratch with him, only to later fall for someone else. When they divorced amicably, she didn’t shed a single tear.

The following year, she took the assets from Mr. Irving, supported a young lover, invested in stocks, and built her wealth. She married again in the third year, only to divorce within half a year.

Now she’s about to marry again.

Mrs. Irving said the ten years with Hugh’s father were a miserable part of her life she couldn’t speak of, and leaving him made the entire sky bright for her.

Living in the moment is the best testament to oneself.

The process doesn’t matter; what’s important is that she never wronged herself at any time, doing whatever she wanted.
