Addicted After Marriage: Marrying My Abstinent Boss-Chapter 195: How About I Feed You?
At this time, calling an ambulance might take half an hour.
His assistant needed to follow up on subsequent tasks, so they stayed behind.
Sophia could only drive Faye’s car to take him to the hospital; after all, he was injured because of her.
"Careful." She helped Faye sit in the passenger seat, cautiously fastening his seatbelt.
Faye frowned; the pain was real, but at this moment his heart felt warm, the warmth inside was more than the pain on his back.
So he didn’t feel too uncomfortable.
The woman, securing his seatbelt, brought a fresh scent that swept away all his injuries.
He thought, how wonderful it would be if this woman were his. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Sophia didn’t notice his gaze, after fastening the seatbelt, she closed the passenger door and went to the driver’s seat.
"Tell me if you’re uncomfortable, don’t just endure it." Sophia’s hands trembled with tension, and her grip on the steering wheel was slightly sweaty.
Thankfully it only hit his back, had it struck his head, what would happen if he became dazed?
Such a handsome person.
She frowned deeply, feeling more panic inside.
"Teacher Hale over there..." Sophia felt worse when she thought of Teacher Hale.
Faye comforted, "I’ve already messaged my assistant, and I’ll be on a business trip for the next half month. Plans have been made to take her on a trip, so don’t worry about it."
Even though he said so, Sophia still felt awful inside.
Teacher Hale only had one son, and she was already very unfortunate, her son just brushed past the gates of hell.
If something were to happen...
Sophia frowned deeply.
"Sorry for causing you such an injury..." Her voice choked slightly.
"Silly girl, don’t say such things. Anyone standing next to you wouldn’t just stand by," Faye chuckled softly, feeling tender towards her worry and couldn’t help comforting her.
He forced a smile at the corner of his mouth, swallowed a lump in his throat, his hands clenched tightly on his lap.
"Thank you, if it weren’t for you, I might’ve gone up to heaven," Sophia was terrified and panicked.
At the moment the steel frame fell, the mesmerizing face of Zane flashed in her mind.
But he wasn’t there.
She thought she was going to see her great-grandmother.
Unexpectedly, Faye saved her.
This wasn’t the first time Faye saved her.
The last time was in the hospital when Sienna and Beau schemed against her, leading her away with some thugs.
Again, it was Faye who saved her.
What a coincidence!
"Why are you even mentioning thanks with me?" Faye laughed softly.
He wished things could be like before, where upon seeing him she’d call out Faye, Brother Faye, Brother over and over, pleasing to the ears.
Don’t know when Sophia became a bit shy.
Sophia drove with anxiety to the hospital.
She wasn’t very familiar with Westmere’s hospital, and she hurriedly called for a nurse at the emergency room entrance.
"Madam." She was called by a somewhat familiar, urgent voice.
Sophia turned her head for a glance; it was her bodyguard, Ansel Gallagher.
Quite a surprise, meeting him here.
He panted, sweat on his forehead, "Wait here, I’ll handle it."
"Hmm?"
Sophia was slightly stunned, without time to react, Ansel was already coordinating with the nurse.
She steadied herself, watching Ansel begin to busy himself.
He opened the passenger door for Faye.
Faye froze for two seconds.
"Mr. Ellison, I’m Mrs. Sterling’s bodyguard, please bear with me," Ansel politely turned side to unfasten the seatbelt for him.
Faye scooted back, frowned, not looking too pleased.
Where did this person pop up from?
The nurse brought a stretcher, laying Faye flat, and began briefing Ansel.
Sophia wanted to say something, but security asked her to move the car and come back, to avoid blocking others behind.
She had to drive the car away first.
The remaining matters were temporarily left to Ansel.
Ansel was assigned by Zane to stay with Sophia, ever since the studio incident, Zane became worried whenever Sophia went out, whether alone or with others, Ansel had another task to accompany her.
From yesterday to now, Ansel stayed nearby without appearing, fearing to give her any trouble.
Early this morning, he accompanied them to the factory, unable to enter, he could only wait outside, seeing her rushing out, speeding to the hospital with Faye, knowing something happened.
He drove himself following them to the hospital, realizing this guy was the one in trouble.
He sighed in relief.
Luckily it wasn’t madam who was hurt, otherwise he’d face a pay cut.
When Sophia returned, he had completed the checkup, and moved into a VIP ward.
The factory manager arranged visits, with a few leaders there arriving too.
Ansel stayed dutifully aside, fearing any accident might happen to Faye.
Faye had a dark face the whole time, unsure of the reason.
Seeing Faye converse with others, Sophia called Ansel outside.
"Did Zane have you come?"
"Sir ordered ages ago, to protect you." Ansel wasn’t one to talk much.
He was someone Zane rescued at the border, he didn’t have much skill other than fighting, lacked a proper job, since Zane retired, he always stayed by his side.
Sophia never had much conversation with him.
Hearing him, a warmth surged in Sophia’s heart.
Ansel had been with her for days now.
She particularly felt like calling Zane, yet feared he’d be asleep, so sent him a message detailing the events today.
"Madam, are you alright?" Ansel asked.
"I’m fine." But him...
Sophia glanced into the ward.
Faye was hooked to an IV drip, visibly looking worse.
"I’ll watch over him today." Ansel seriously said.
Sophia also thought so.
She considered hiring a nurse, Ansel refused, saying he could handle everything.
Sophia didn’t push the matter.
After over half an hour, the people inside finished chatting and left, coincidentally Ansel brought back three meals from outside.
He set up a table on the bed.
"Mr. Ellison, unsure of your preference, ordered some things." Ansel placed the opened meals on the table.
Faye squinted, clearly unwilling, his expression hadn’t improved since seeing Ansel.
Seeing no response, Ansel added, "Want me to feed you?"
Faye’s face turned darker.
"No, thank you." He clenched his teeth, not saying more.
Ansel raised the bed, placed down his own items, and began eating his lunch.
Nearby, Sophia was carefully peeling an apple.
Faye turned to glance at her.
"Are you not hungry?" Sophia looked up to ask.
Faye smiled, shaking his head, pretty hungry, just...
"Not eating?" Faye.
"I’ll eat after peeling this apple, you go ahead." Sophia lowered her head, focused on her task.
"Mr. Ellison, want me to feed you?" Ansel nearly stood.
"No!" Faye picked up chopsticks and started eating.
Ansel nodded, observing him closely, and said nothing more.
