Chapter 115: Chapter 114: Monthly Tickets 60+

Zhao Meimei stood by the table with a plate, watching Shi Yang.

The white shirt Shi Yang wore looked especially clean under the soft lighting. He leaned against the wall, holding a phone close to his ear with one hand while the other was tucked into his pants pocket. His casual slacks hugged his firm, long legs tightly, and his hips formed a round curve.

Zhao Meimei stared at him intently while he talked on the phone, occasionally seeing his eyes squint unconsciously, his lips pressed tight. His side profile was as handsome as a sculpture, and as she watched, she inexplicably felt a bit of sadness in her heart.

She turned around, her gaze drifting past numerous diners and landing on Zhang Xin, who was not far away conversing with Qu Chaozong.

Zhang Xin had a tall figure, wearing a black trench coat with a black V-neck dress underneath, and black high heels. Her long curly hair flowed down, showcasing a mature beauty that Zhao Meimei deeply longed for and admired during her girlhood.

Shi Yang hung up the phone and looked up to see Zhao Meimei dazed and lost in thought beside the table.

Zhao Meimei had taken off her school uniform jacket, wearing a light blue crew-neck sweater. Her figure was slender yet not frail, her long neck, slightly raised chest, and the sweater’s fit accentuated her extremely thin waist extending into her baggy school pants, hiding the rest of her curves. Her eyebrows were dark, eyes squinted, lips slightly pursed, her expression melancholy and evidently disappointed.

Shi Yang suddenly felt a pang in his heart. He strode over, instinctively wanting to hug her from behind. His hand paused halfway, then rested lightly on her shoulder: "What are you looking at?"

Zhao Meimei turned her head in surprise, seeing him, she smiled: "Nothing, did you finish your call, brother?"

Shi Yang nodded: "A client had some questions they needed to consult with me."

As he spoke, he glanced at the plate in Zhao Meimei’s hand: "Why didn’t you pick anything?"

Zhao Meimei folded her arms: "You choose, I don’t know what to eat."

Shi Yang casually took the plate and began selecting diligently. Zhao Meimei followed beside him, a hint of thought flickering beneath her eyelids: "Brother, do you like beautiful, mature women?"

Shi Yang seriously picked through the scallops: "There are many beautiful women; it’s more about compatibility and ease. You can’t live a lifetime with just a pretty face."

Since starting his company, Shi Yang spent many nights with clients in karaoke bars and saunas, encountering all kinds of women, often engaging in superficial interactions. But when things got serious, seeing women heavily made-up, like they wore masks, and smelling their overwhelming perfume, he lost interest, preferring to go home and relieve himself.

Shi Yang loved cleanliness, a slight obsession he couldn’t change.

In his busy work life, except for dealing with women he couldn’t approach or kiss, he rarely interacted with others. There was a female student working part-time at his company who liked him, and he found her attractive, but he remembered the saying "don’t shit where you eat" and refrained from flirting.

Especially now, since realizing his secret feelings, he had completely lost interest in other women.

Shi Yang caught Zhao Meimei in the corner of his eye and suddenly asked: "I heard from Zhang Xin that you and her brother, Zhang Zhao, have a good relationship?"

Zhao Meimei: "Not particularly, we don’t often hang out together."

Shi Yang’s sharp and precise thinking: "Zhang Xin looks pretty, so Zhang Zhao shouldn’t look too different. Is he as handsome as Xu Xu?"

Zhao Meimei tilted her head, thinking it over: "It’s different. Zhang Zhao is over 1.8 meters, almost 1.9, he looks alright, not as good as Xu Xu, but not ugly either."

Shi Yang asked: "Comparing Zhang Zhao and Xu Xu, do you prefer Xu Xu?"

Zhao Meimei’s thin eyelids lifted slightly: "He’s willing to hang out with me, Zhang Zhao didn’t pay much attention to me before, but he threw me a bag of candies today."

Shi Yang sneered: "He gave them to you, and you accepted?"

Zhao Meimei didn’t think much: "He threw them to me in front of classmates, if I threw them back, it would be too rude. Besides, he bought peanut candies, my favorite brand, I shared them with Xu Xu and Wang Jiayue."

Shi Yang poked around in the scallop pile with the tongs: "Hmm, today it’s a bag of candies, who knows what next time he might throw. As long as he does it in front of classmates, you’d accept even a bomb, right? It’s fine to throw it back, it might explode but it won’t hurt you, right?"

Zhao Meimei laughed heartily: "No way, I’m not dumb."

Shi Yang glanced at her: "Not dumb huh, yet you’d be easily swayed by a piece of candy."

Dumb indeed.

Shi Yang teased Zhao Meimei, trying to probe her innermost feelings, wanting to know if the most important person in her heart was still him and if anyone else was sneaking in to replace him, subtly warning her against those sneaky boys, not to let anyone woo her away with some treats and sweet words.

At the table sat four people, with Zhang Xin’s presence making the meal rather awkward. Usually lively Qu Chaozong went silent, the whole table only left with Zhang Xin occasionally chatting with Zhao Meimei. The two were not familiar, so their conversation topics were short-lived, quickly leading to a lull.

Halfway through the meal, Qu Chaozong suddenly remembered he had some business to attend to and left. Zhang Xin wanted to follow, but Shi Yang stopped her.

Zhang Xin returned to her seat, looked at Shi Yang: "What do you want to talk to me about?"

Shi Yang got straight to the point: "Miss Zhang, there are some things Chaozi couldn’t say directly to you; as a friend, I’m helping to relay them."

Zhang Xin raised an eyebrow: "Oh? What message?"

Shi Yang: "Not the same people, not the same household, I believe Miss Zhang should understand this, right? Chaozi looks rough on the outside, but he’s not the type who plays around outside, so..." freewёbnoνel-com

Zhang Xin suddenly laughed, her raised eye corner evoking a hint of allure: "What qualifies as playing? With feelings, it’s often about mutual consent. I like him, so naturally I will pursue him. If he falls for me, we call it dating. In dating, we might get married, or break up in the end, no one can guarantee such things."

Shi Yang squinted his handsome eyes: "If you put it like that, there’s nothing I can do. I just want to remind you to think carefully about why you like Chaozi."

Zhang Xin stopped smiling, seriously pondered, then replied: "If I say it was love at first sight with Chaozi, you might not believe it, but that’s the truth."

Zhang Xin picked up her cup, took a sip of juice, and said lightly: "I think you should understand this feeling, liking someone often comes without reason, right?"

After finishing her words, Zhang Xin inconspicuously glanced at Zhao Meimei, who was listening to their conversation with her chin propped on her hand, then smirked and laughed.
