Aether Chronicles: Birth Of A Legend-Chapter 222: He’ll Live
''You!'' Selene roared, . ''How dare you touch him!''
The Demoness sprinted forward as she launched into a flying kick. A boot connected against the woman's face with a sickening crack, sending her sprawling off Raegar and crashing into a nearby table.
''He is mine!'' she bellowed.
The older woman rose quickly, unfazed, violet eyes glinting due to the unmistakable power of a Tier Ten sorceress. She wiped a trickle of blood as her smile widened into something cruel. ''Bold, but foolish,'' she hissed, raising a hand.
A wave of dark energy surged toward Selene, who barely dodged, the force grazing her shoulder and leaving a burning sting. The red-skinned girl ignored the pain and lunged again, sword slashing through the air.
But the woman was too fast, countering with a barrage of bolts that drove the red-skinned girl back. Each blow landed harder, and the Tier Ten's power was overwhelming. The Demoness' vision blurred as she stumbled.
When the stranger saw this, she laughed, a cold, mocking sound, as she prepared a final, devastating spell. Just then, the door slammed open, and Drusilla stormed in, crackling with raw, vengeful Aether.
The Fairy's eyes locked onto the scene, and fury ignited like a wildfire. ''You'll pay for touching him!'' she snarled, hurling a bolt of shadow energy that struck the sorceress square in the chest.
Selene seized the moment, scrambling to join the Fairy. The two fought in tandem, her sword skills and raw ferocity complementing the Fairy's spells. The woman faltered under their assault.
Drusilla's shadows coiled around the woman. This managed to slow the crazy bitch down, while the red-skinned girls strikes kept their enemy off balance. Together, they pressed their advantage, their shared rage and determination to save Raegar fueling every blow.
The room pulsed due to the chaos as the girls fought alongside each other, their movements a deadly dance against the crazy woman. Drusilla's Aether wove patterns, binding her limbs tighter with each passing second, as Selene's sword struck, each slash chipping away at the defenses.
Moments later, the woman snapped, a gaunt face contorted, and hurled erratic bolts of dark magic, but the duo's synergy was unbreakable. The Demoness parried a crackling spell, redirecting it into the stone wall, which shattered in a spray of debris.
Meanwhile, Drusilla countered using a surge of Dark Aether that forced the enemy to her knees. Their combined assault was relentless, yet the woman clung to power with a manic tenacity, mocking laughter now replaced by guttural snarls.
The woman's eyes, wild with obsession, darted toward Raegar, still drugged, as if twisted devotion fueled her resistance. The duo exchanged a glance, their unspoken agreement clear. They would end this together.
The Dark Fairy summoned a vortex of darkness, enveloping the woman and slowing her movements, as Selene lunged, sword aimed for a decisive blow. But the enemy was not so easily defeated.
She let out a guttural scream, unleashing a shockwave of dark energy, forcing the duo to brace themselves against the blast as they went skidding backward. The room trembled, dust raining from the ceiling, and for a moment, it seemed the woman might turn the tide.
Then, from the shadows, a figure surged forward. Raegar, freed from his chains by sheer willpower, erupted into the fray, his twin daggers gleaming. His face was a mask of rage, his movements a blur as he launched himself at the sorceress, aiming for her exposed neck.

Moments before.
Raegar's heart pounded in his chest as he watched the battle unfold, the air thick with the acrid tang of sweat and desperation. The girls were faltering, their movements sluggish and uncoordinated.
The woman, a whirlwind of malice and raw power, moved like a predator, making his blood boil. Her laughter, sharp and mocking, cut through the chaos like a blade, each cackle a taunt that stoked the fire in his gut.
He soon realized this stranger was no ordinary opponent; she was a force of nature, a crazed storm reveling in their struggle. And she was winning. Rage erupted inside him, a tide that drowned out the haze of the lingering drugs.
Clenching his fists, he reached deep, tapping into his power that had long defined him. His vision sharpened, his muscles tensed, and a low growl rumbled in his throat as he activated Fusion Overdrive.
The world responded. The Aether, the lifeblood of the planet, surged toward him like a tidal wave. It crackled in the air, a shimmering aura of blues and golds that swirled around his body, drawn to him as if he were a lodestone.
His frame swelled, muscles rippling as his power ascended to Tier Ten. The drugs, once a suffocating weight, burned away in the crucible of his will, their hold on him shattered like brittle glass.
Raegar was furious and let out a roar that shook the ground. He surged forward, his boots pounding the earth as he closed the distance between himself and the woman. His hands moved in a blur, summoning his twin daggers.
The blades materialized, their edges gleaming with a deadly promise. Each dagger was an extension of his will, forged from the essence of the stars and honed by his unyielding resolve.
When seeing him, the woman's eyes widened, her smug grin faltering for a fraction of a second as she registered the shift in the battlefield. He was no longer a bystander; he was a storm incarnate.
Raegar lunged while his daggers arced through the air toward her throat. His daggers were mere inches from their mark when a flash of steel intercepted them, the clash of metal sending a jolt through his arms.
The woman collapsed, knocked unconscious by an unseen strike, but his momentum carried him into a new foe. His eyes snapped to the interloper, Elara Crowhurst, the Tiger Demi-Human Professor.
She stood before him, her curved saber still humming from the parry, radiating an authority that demanded respect. But his rage left no room for reason and lunged, his daggers weaving deadly strikes, each one fueled by the Aether.
Elara met him blow for blow, her movements fluid and predatory, as if she were born to fight. Her blade flashed, deflecting his attacks. The chamber became their arena, stone walls cracking as they bounced off them, vaulting over debris in a whirlwind of sparks and steel.
Raegar's heart pounded, his muscles screaming, but he pressed on, driven by a need to reclaim control. Selene's voice cut through the chaos. ''Elara, stop!''
A faint echo reached him, swallowed by the bloodlust raging in his mind. To his left, Drusilla's wings flared, their Aether sparking as she wanted to get involved, but the pace of his duel with Elara held her at a distance.
She was formidable, her Demi-Human agility allowing her to twist and dodge his frenzied strikes with an almost infuriating skill. Every time he thought he had her, she slipped away, her green eyes locked on his, unyielding and calculating.
The fight reached a fever pitch, their blades a blur of motion. Elara feinted left, and Raegar, anticipating her strike, moved to counter, only to realize too late it was a ruse. Her powerful kick slammed into his chest, the force like a battering ram.
The air was ripped from his lungs as he was hurled backward, crashing through the chamber's stained-glass window. Shards exploded around him, glinting like stars as he plummeted into the cold night air, the world spinning in a kaleidoscope of pain and fury.
As he plummeted through the frigid night, the darkness below rushed up to claim him, a yawning void that mirrored the chaos in his heart. Yet his mind clung fiercely to the battle, replaying the image of Elara Crowhurst standing in the shattered chamber.
Above, through the jagged remains of the stained-glass window, he caught fleeting glimpses of Selene and Drusilla scrambling to the edge, their faces etched thanks to the shock and desperation.
Their gasps echoed in his ears, mingling as the Tigress commented. ''He'll live.''
Just then, a pair of glinting streaks sliced through the air, hurtling past the two girls, who stood frozen at the shattered window's edge. The blurs, Raegar's daggers, thrown during his fall, forced Elara to pivot sharply. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Her curved saber flashed in a deft arc, deflecting the blades with a resonant clang that reverberated through the chamber. In that same heartbeat, he reappeared, vaulting back through the broken window.
His boots hit the stone floor and launched forward, channeling his fury into a powerful kick that connected squarely against her lower back. The impact sent Elara staggering, her lithe form hurtling toward a stone pillar with a muffled thud, dust cascading from the ceiling.
But before he could press his advantage, a pair of strong arms enveloped his upper body from behind, their grip ironclad. This caught him off guard as the Tigress appeared and punched him in the jaw.
His world went black as he heard her voice. ''The drugs are dangerous, get Aiko to check him out.''
