They also didn’t leave behind the small animals that they had encountered. If they were only eating all the things that they could see, they shouldn’t have seen a lot of only barren land.

The sea creatures seemed to contain something in their bodies that was actually poisonous to the land, as those that they passed by already contained those poisonous substances.

And it also seemed that they had already taken something vital from the island; that’s why it would take a lot of time for other lands to recover and why they immediately became barren.

If it’s only the poisonous substance that they have, those substances would also dissipate over time because most of the barren islands that they had passed by don’t have those poisons anymore, except for a few islands that might have been visited by those sea creatures.

So, they certainly got something that is vital to the land; that’s why it deteriorated rapidly and would take a lot of time to recover.

However, the sea creatures that they were observing were obviously not high-ranking enough, as those that they were observing were only eating and eating those things that were around them until nothing was left.

"It seemed that there wouldn’t be any high-ranking sea creatures that would come, as it seemed that they already got what they wanted."

"Yes, there probably won’t be any more sea creatures, as this group is already enough to consume all the things on the island in a very short time."

"So, are we still going to continue watching them to learn more things about them?"

"No need. Let’s go and continue exploring everything and then get some energy for our ship before going back to the forest where the people on this planet are staying. If we manage to talk to those people, then we could learn more about these sea creatures."

"Indeed. But I’m quite curious about the substance that they were emitting that seemed to be poisonous to those on the ground. Can we get some samples? I want to study it for a bit while we are collecting the energy that we need."

It would probably take them some time to collect the energy that they needed, so he wanted to take the time to do something.

He had wanted to study more plants, but now that he saw those sea creatures and the poisonous substance that they have, he wanted to learn about it for a bit before studying more plants.

Storm had detected that the level of the poisonous substance was still very high, so they descended and collected some gas samples as well as the liquid samples on the ground.

Then they collected water samples on the island as well as the sea water around the island.

Afterwards, they continued moving around and passed by different lands which were still mostly barren.

Then they finally arrived at the other side of the land that they had stayed at for a long time.

When they looked around, they saw that there was actually another small place near the shore where old people from the forest were staying.

"I thought they were only at the west side, but it seemed that they were actually guarding the opening of the river that goes inland," Ryzel said while looking down.

The place where they had seen the shoreline where the old people were residing was actually near the opening of the large river in the land that was flowing towards the sea. It’s also the same in the place that they were looking at.

The place was also beside the opening of a large river going inland.

"Indeed. If their goal is to prevent the sea creatures from going inland, then they indeed need to guard the places where the large rivers are so that the sea creatures couldn’t go deep inside by following the river."

They only looked around a bit and then they didn’t continue going inland but changed their direction to go to the frozen land that they had seen before, as they had already finished going around the planet.

They hadn’t deeply explored the places on the planet, but it was still enough as they already had a bit more understanding of all the lands on the planet.

And aside from the people in the forest that they had seen before, they didn’t see any other people on the planet.

They’ve only seen some land animals and the sea creatures that they had seen before.

They wanted to communicate with the people on the planet, but they still needed to collect some of the energy that they had detected so that if those people really turned hostile, then they could just leave.

Of course, if they weren’t that strong, then they’ll probably return and get more energy for themselves, as Layton only planned to get half of the amount of the energy they had detected so as to leave some for those that were on the planet.
