After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 94: An ability
By nightfall, Nina and the others found another cave to rest in. This time, Odian deliberately avoided choosing one that was long and deep. In fact, he had even considered finding a nearby tribe and borrowing a dwelling.
But Nina thought that would be too troublesome and stopped him.
Earthquakes didn’t happen every day, and they had already traveled far from the previous location. Besides, they had no idea where the nearest tribe even was.
That night, heavy rain poured down once more.
Seeing Kith and Finch still lingering outside in the storm, Nina felt a pang of guilt. After all, they had both been injured protecting her and the cubs.
She had noticed before that they often remained outside the cave, never seeking shelter even during rainstorms. Back then, she had deliberately ignored them, hoping they would eventually give up and leave on their own.
But today... she couldn’t pretend not to see them.
Holding an umbrella, she stepped out into the rain and stopped in front of them.
"Come inside and take shelter."
Joy flickered across Kith’s and Finch’s faces.
She was letting them into the cave.
They immediately rose and followed her inside.
Once they shifted back into human form, Nina handed each of them a dry piece of animal hide. "Dry your hair."
"Thank you," they said quietly.
They found a corner and sat down, wiping away the rainwater.
Yinny and Didi were playing with Odian. Linny perched on Nina’s shoulder, watching his older brothers with bright curiosity. The remaining egg babies rolled around nearby, entertaining themselves.
As Yinny played, he suddenly felt a strange warmth ripple through his body.
He swung his little paw instinctively.
A thin blade of wind shot out, slicing through the air—and straight across the back of Ridan’s animal-hide skirt.
Rip.
A clean tear split through the fabric.
"Ah! Who cut my skirt?" Ridan clutched the torn backside, glaring indignantly at the surrounding males.
They all stared at one another in confusion.
They hadn’t done anything.
Yinny hurriedly ran behind Odian.
Odian reached back and lifted him up, eyes bright with surprise.
"Yinny... you’ve awakened an ability?"
Yinny blinked blankly.
What’s an ability?
Odian took another piece of hide and held it suspended a short distance in front of him.
"Use the same method again. Try swinging your paw."
Yinny obediently waved again.
Another wind blade flashed out.
Rip.
The hide split cleanly in two.
Ridan, realizing it was Yinny, decided not to make a fuss.
Odian carried Yinny over to Nina, unable to hide his excitement.
"Nina, Yinny has awakened an ability. It appears to be wind-elemental. To awaken so young—his potential must be extraordinary."
Nina took Yinny and stroked his head gently.
"Our Yinny is amazing."
Hearing her praise, Yinny beamed happily.
Kith’s gaze trembled.
Yinny had awakened an ability—even earlier than he himself had.
He would grow into a powerful male one day.
Kith stepped forward and spoke earnestly. "Little female, please let me remain by your side. Yinny has awakened the same elemental affinity as I have. I can teach him how to control and refine it."
He continued, voice steady but sincere. "I’m not trying to take him from you. I only wish to fulfill my responsibility as his father. Please give me this chance. A cub needs his father."
Nina hesitated and looked at Yinny. "Yinny, do you want him to stay?"
Yinny blinked thoughtfully.
Abilities seemed powerful. If he learned properly, would he be able to protect Mother in the future?
He remembered how Nina had been injured before, and sadness filled him.
He had to become strong.
If this unreliable father could teach him, then... he could stay for now.
Yinny nodded, then nuzzled Nina affectionately.
But I’ll listen only to Mother.
Finch stepped forward as well.
"Didi will awaken our Nine-Tailed Fox clan’s innate ability someday. He will need guidance too. Our clan’s secret arts cannot be taught by outsiders."
His tone was sincere.
"Little female, I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way. I shouldn’t have ignored you and Didi. I truly apologize. I want to make amends. Please let me stay."
He had already made up his mind.
If he truly wanted to leave, he would have done so long ago.
He wanted to stay.
Nina lifted Didi into her arms. "And Didi? Do you want him to stay?"
Didi rubbed against her softly.
Didi listens to Mother only.
Nina looked at the two males before her, uncertainty clouding her heart.
Kith and Finch did not dare rush her. They simply gazed at her with sincerity and hope.
She stroked Yinny and Didi thoughtfully.
If Didi awakened a fox clan–specific ability and she couldn’t teach him... would his talent go to waste?
For their future... perhaps letting these two males stay—for now—was the better choice.
After a long moment, she made her decision.
"Alright. You can stay temporarily."
Relief and joy flooded Kith’s and Finch’s faces.
It was only temporary—but it was enough.
They would prove themselves.
Nina gathered her emotions and carried the cubs to bathe them. Odian stepped forward to help naturally.
Kith and Finch wanted to assist as well, but hesitated, unsure of their place. They stood nearby, quietly observing and learning.
At the very least, they carried out the used bathwater.
When everything was done, Nina returned to the sleeping area with the cubs and gently coaxed them to sleep.
Kith and Finch watched her tenderly soothe the babies, their expressions softening.
She truly was a good mother.
A good female.
Once the cubs were asleep, Nina closed her eyes and entered her system space. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
She needed to restock supplies—especially milk powder.
After completing her purchases, a notification sounded.
[Congratulations, Host. You have upgraded to Gold VIP. The system has specially prepared a small gift package for you.]
Nina raised a brow.
"A gift package?"
Little Bun pulled up the interface.
[Click to open. It’s something very suitable for you.]
Nina tapped the package.
Light shimmered, and a small seed appeared.
"What is this?"
[This is a Ghost-Cry Vine seed. Drop a drop of blood on it and it will recognize you as its master. Feed it plant essence liquid and it will grow quickly. In the future, you only need to give a command, and it will fight enemies for you.]
"Plant essence liquid? That wasn’t included in the gift."
She glanced at the now-empty interface.
[Available for purchase in the store.] Little Bun’s eyes shifted slightly.
Nina narrowed her eyes.
So that’s why you’re giving me gifts. To sell more products.
"I don’t want it. Give me something practical."
[Host, Ghost-Cry Vine is extremely powerful. It ignores most defenses, is highly durable, grows quickly, and is excellent at restraining and attacking enemies. The essence liquid is inexpensive—just a few drops a day. Raising one is very cost-effective.]
Nina checked the price.
It wasn’t expensive.
Keeping one might indeed be useful someday.
"Fine. I’ll raise one."
She took out the seed and let a drop of blood fall onto it.
The seed glowed and instantly sprouted into a tiny vine seedling, swaying happily.
Master, Master!
She fed it several drops of essence liquid. It grew rapidly.
When satisfied, the Ghost-Cry Vine transformed into a slender green bracelet and wrapped itself around her wrist.
Nina stroked it lightly and smiled before drifting off to sleep.

In a secret chamber within the City Lord’s Manor of the Wildlands.
Several black crystals resting upon a stone platform shattered one after another.
"They’re all dead," a tall male with dark runes crawling across his face said coldly. "Useless trash."
He crushed the remaining crystal in his hand.
"Haron. This time, you go personally. Bring her to me."
"Yes."
Two shadows detached themselves from the darkness and vanished—racing swiftly toward Nina’s direction.
