Chapter 1780: Altheaโ€™s Ongoing Training

By now, she was very close to leveling up, though they decided to solidify her fighting instincts instead of barrelling through another level up.

At this time, Althea was outside the territory with her husband, and she was training with him along with her brother.

Slash!

A sharp water slice cut the air, and also a few red locks, eliciting a gasp from its owner.

"Hey, sis! Donโ€™t sliced my hair any shorter!" Ansel yelled, placing his fire below his feet, allowing him to fly a bit and away from his murderous sister.

Althea rolled her eyes as she jumped from branch to branch, sending sharp water blades in his direction as she did so. "You wonโ€™t die, I wonโ€™t widow my best friend."

"..."

Wow, sister, great to know Iโ€™m on your priority list!

Ansel barely avoided another slice, though he almost tripped. He managed to keep himself balanced by adding a flare on his palms, boosting him a few inches to balance himself so he could continue running.

Anyway, since Althea wasnโ€™t holding back, Ansel got serious about attacking, too!

Whoosh!

Ansel sent two sharp fire attacks at around the same timeโ€”not an easy feat โ€”in different directions, and Althea could only avoid one.

A pile of earth appeared in front of her, blocking the fire. Water and earth happened to be what could kill fire, so obviously, Ansel was at a great disadvantage. Their matchup was also on purpose because he needed to be able to handle more enemy elementalists who had an advantage over him.

Fire had one of the greatest damaging potentials, but it didnโ€™t mean he could be complacent at all.

The trio was quite far from the territory, a few kilometers away, but close enough to easily run back in case of emergencies.

They were having a sparring session in the wilderness. Sparring in a normal sparring ring was not too bad, but the fact of the matter was that the legitimate fights wouldnโ€™t be in such contained spaces.

They had to be trained to use their abilities while moving, defending, and changing terrains. This way, their adaptability would also increase.

They were also required to move around, with Garan adding slippery surfaces to the field if they stayed for too long.

They were also allowed to use one potion per session, including the new agility potions, defense potions, and so on. It was also a practice that was happening among the guards. They had to familiarize themselves with the effects of the potions, get a better feel of each potion, and master their limitations.

Althea limited her elements to water and earth, partially because her wood skills were mostly non-aggressive. Also, using all three felt a bit cheating.

Another handicap Althea was given was that she would treat half of her mana pool as her max limit. This would train her to handle low-mana states better and budget her skills better.

Ansel, on the other hand, could use his fire as needed. Garan was there to put out any fire that could cause much damage.

Fufi and Snow were also roaming nearby, ready to warn them if there were threats approaching. Garan would then head out to clear these threats before coming back in.

Garan, after that incident during the war, had grown really strong, and his abilities were extremely solid. They didnโ€™t know the exact reason why, but it was a good thing.

While it was more of a berserk phase that he couldnโ€™t tap at willโ€”at least not yetโ€”the foundational stats had been improved greatly, and he could easily defeat people of the same level.

Even Gregor, who was 20 levels higher than him, acknowledged that it wouldnโ€™t be easy to defeat him. The old man said that it would be easier to take down a normal elementalist five levels higher than Garan.

This allowed some peace of mind as they battled outside the territory.

The fight was set to end every thirty minutes, with Garan as the objective judge of who the winner was. Ansel taunted him a lot, though, saying he wouldnโ€™t be able to judge fairly, and Althea did ask him to be fair.

Unluckily for Ansel, Garan had no need to be biased because Altheaโ€™s battle sense was not to be underestimated.

She was not nearly as strong as Garan, nor was she as great as the well-trained soldiers, but she was doing greatโ€”definitely better than Ansel, despite the latterโ€™s more destructive element.

BAM!

BANG!

Elements flew again, with Althea using her [Perfect Aim] to spread out water daggers, which ultimately weakened the fireballs Ansel threw at her.

This prompted the latter to improve the speed and power of his fireball, and the closer it got to Althea, the better he got at controlling them.

He got a bit too preoccupied with the whole fire-and-water fight, though.

"Ahhh!" Ansel yelled when Althea suddenly created a platform out of nowhere, hitting Ansel from below.

Althea appeared in front of him to kick him, and he managed to block it with an arm before twisting his body to respond.

However, Althea jumped back and quickly took some water from her space and slapped him against the tree.

BANG!

K.O.!
