After the Fairy Maidens Fell to Darkness, They Captured Me to Ruthlessly 'Repay' Their Gratitude-Chapter 47 - A Familiar Humiliation
tln : Big thanks to Skoll’s comment about Chapter 7, refers to Twin Phoenix Sword.
A Familiar Humiliation
“But who told you I draw my sword merely for beauty?”
At the end of the black market, in the center of the crowd, stood a white-robed boy, his sword drawn, his tone calm and collected.
Behind him, the fox demon girl in the cherry-pink maid outfit looked at him with wide eyes, her heart finally settling, though she still felt a mix of emotions.
She was relieved that He Ange hadn’t sold her out; he was still a good person.
But she was also confused. If He Ange didn’t care about her beauty, then why was he standing up for her? Was it because she was the sister of the Fox Clan’s saintess? Or did he see her as a valuable asset for future dual cultivation?
Or perhaps...
Could it be that he simply liked her and wanted to protect her?
No, that’s a foolish thought.
Shaking her head to clear her mind, Xia Ranyue tried to avoid such strange ideas.
Meanwhile, Cao Dao’s expression had turned cold.
He had given the boy a way out, but instead of taking it, He Ange had chosen to mock him.
“Boy, do you really think that just because you’re from the Moon Sect, you can do whatever you want in Yong’an City?” Cao Dao sneered, publicly revealing He Ange’s supposed affiliation.
If this brat didn’t want to play nice, then he’d expose him.
By revealing He Ange’s identity as a Moon Sect member, he would stir up the black market. Everyone would know that He Ange was a demonic cultivator from the Moon Sect, and the local demonic cultivators wouldn’t take kindly to an outsider spying on them.
Cao Dao looked at He Ange with a mocking smile, relishing the thought of the boy’s reaction.

“Are you done?” He Ange asked, standing calmly with his hands behind his back, looking bored.
He wasn’t actually from the Moon Sect, so he didn’t care about Cao Dao’s accusations. In fact, it was convenient. Any future misdeeds would be blamed on the Moon Sect, saving He Ange the trouble of covering his tracks.
Cao Dao and Xia Ranyue were both taken aback by He Ange’s nonchalance.
How could he be so calm after having his identity exposed?
If it were Xia Ranyue, she’d be panicking.
“I’ll say it again. My fox demon sister is not for sale. If you’re not here to buy anything, please leave and stop causing trouble,” He Ange said coldly, stepping forward. As he did, the dark energy around him spread.
For a moment, Cao Dao was intimidated, sweat forming on his brow.
But he quickly regained his composure. He had faced many dangers in his life and wouldn’t be cowed by a young man.
“Men! Seize him!” Cao Dao shouted, raising his sleeve. From the shadows, several figures emerged, surrounding He Ange.
Each of them was at least at the mid-Foundation Establishment stage, dressed in tight assassin gear, exuding murderous intent.
“Did you really think I came to the black market alone?” Cao Dao sneered, his eyes narrowing.
He Ange, surrounded by assassins, snapped his fingers.
Cao Dao, startled, looked around nervously, expecting He Ange’s reinforcements to appear.
But after a moment, nothing happened. Only a cold wind blew through the market.
“Boy, you’re bluffing! Do you think you can scare me with a snap of your fingers?” Cao Dao growled, his anger rising.
“My people are here. You just can’t see them,” He Ange replied calmly.
“Stop talking nonsense—”
Before Cao Dao could finish, he felt a sharp blade against his throat.
Turning his head, he saw He Ange standing behind him, a thin sword pressed to his neck.
“When did you—?”
Cao Dao tried to move, but He Ange’s sword was too close. One wrong move, and it would slice his throat.
He realized that the boy he had been talking to was just an illusion. He Ange had been stalling for time, diverting his attention.
“Damn it! You cunning brat!” Cao Dao cursed, his forehead veins bulging with rage. He tried to unleash his demonic energy again, but He Ange kicked him in the leg, forcing him to his knees.
Now, Cao Dao was kneeling, his head held down by He Ange, while the assassins hesitated, unsure whether to act.
Capturing the leader was a classic strategy.
“This is the black market. You can’t expect to act like you’re in the official world,” He Ange said, patting Cao Dao’s face mockingly.
He Ange’s demonic bloodline was thrilled by the confrontation, making him more daring.
“Boy, what’s your name? Which sect are you from? Dare to tell me?” Cao Dao demanded.
“Name’s He. My senior sister is Mu Yanli. What of it? If you dare confront her, I’ll commend your bravery,” He Ange replied.
Cao Dao’s face turned green, unable to speak.
Xia Ranyue, watching from the side, was astonished. She had been ready to call in her own reinforcements to help He Ange, but he had subdued Cao Dao in seconds.
He was incredibly strong, using strategy and skill to overcome a more powerful opponent.
Once again, Xia Ranyue was amazed by He Ange’s abilities.
She even wondered if, had she tried to capture He Ange that night, she would have ended up like Cao Dao, humiliated and defeated.
Good thing she had let him go...
Hearing the name Mu Yanli, Xia Ranyue felt a strange sense of familiarity.
She remembered being pinned down and humiliated by He Ange, who had mentioned his Moon Sect senior sister, Mu Yanli.
It seemed He Ange often invoked Mu Yanli’s name.
Mu Yanli...
Could she be someone important in his life?
