Chapter 64: Damon’s Sister.

**Isabella**

"Isabella... I didn’t hear you approaching." Cross’s voice shook as he spoke, looking nervous as if he had been caught doing something wrong.

"Are you alright, Cross? You seem startled to see me," I spoke as I strode to him near the counter.

His eyes rotated around, purposely avoiding my gaze, and I became even more curious. "I’m fine, I... just."

"Something is definitely wrong," I said, noticing Felicia’s phone on the floor. "What were you doing with Felicia’s phone?"

He looked around nervously before finally meeting my gaze. "It was nothing, just forget you saw me here, please."

"Then I’ll check for myself," I bent down to pick up the phone, but he beat me to it and quickly grabbed the phone.

He was definitely jittery, and something was up, I could tell. "What are you hiding, Cross? Tell me. Is this about Kira?"

His eyes widened like saucers, almost bulging out of their sockets.

"I just wanted to warn her that my brother was after her, and I couldn’t use my phone. My brother put a tracker there."

"Do you have a death wish? What if your brother finds out?" I gritted my teeth, shaking my head in disbelief. I was certain Razor must have taught him a lesson, and yet here he was, begging for more.

"I... just wanted... to warn her and say goodbye to her," his voice shook with emotions, making my heart tug hard.

I wanted to tell him that Kira should not be trusted completely, but I didn’t want to hurt him. It was really weird seeing her with Ian. Ian isn’t a big fan of Razor and his family; he must definitely know Kira was dating Cross.

"You’re right... my brother will kill me if he finds out."

"Exactly, so just try and forget about her, please."

He nodded, his face failing miserably. "I must have momentarily lost my mind, trying to disobey my brother after what happened to me."

"What did he do to you?"

Cross swallowed hard, his fingers trembling slightly. "It was the syringe torture... for six hours while chained to the bed," he explained, his breathing already rising as he recalled everything. "I have to go now."

I watched speechlessly as he ran out of the kitchen.

**Ian**

"So you couldn’t get Razor’s wife, is that what you’re telling me right now?" Damon’s voice boomed as I stood in front of his desk, lowering my head.

"I’m so sorry, sir. I don’t know how they traced my friend to the Hives club," I recoiled in fear.

"I helped you, Ian. I fucking made you into one of my enhanced wolves, and this is how you repay me?" He slammed his fist on the table.

He was right. He had rescued me from a rogue wolf attack months ago and brought me to his mansion to treat me. I would have died if he hadn’t saved me. Plus, he also made me a fucking enhanced wolf.

"Give me one last chance, sir. I won’t disappoint you again," I begged, hoping for another opportunity to redeem myself.

"And how are you going to fucking do this?"

"Isabella’s mom is currently sick and is about to be admitted to the hospital. When she goes to see her mom, I’ll go there and bring her to you."

"And Razor?" Damon furrowed his brow, tapping the desk slowly.

"Maybe we can finally use the enhanced wolves and attack his pack. He’ll be distracted and won’t be in the hospital with his wife."

"Hmm," Damon nodded thoughtfully, before smiling at me. "That’s not a bad idea. Then I’ll use his wife to lure him here, finally killing him."

"And then you’ll let her go with me, right?" I asked nervously.

"Of course. That was our agreement. I don’t need Isabella, just Razor."

"Thank you, sir."

"You can stay here for the time being, since that bastard is searching for you."

I bowed my head slightly. "Thank you, sir."

I was ecstatic. If this plan went well, I would rescue Isabella, and we would finally be together, away from all the drama.

The door suddenly opened, and Lisa, Damon’s kid sister, stepped inside.

"How many times do I have to tell you to knock, Lisa?" Damon rolled his eyes as she went straight to the couch and sat down.

"Oh, please, Damon, there’s no need for all that," she scoffed, crossing her legs comfortably. "What’s going on here?" Her eyes moved from Damon to me.

"We were talking about your failed attempt at bringing either Razor’s wife or brother," Damon said.

Lisa looked away, running her fingers through her ash-blond hair. "I almost had him this time, but Razor and his men suddenly barged in. You should be glad I managed to escape."

"Yeah, I’ll kill any motherfucker who ever tries to harm my little sister," Damon smirked at her before turning to me. "You may leave."

"Thank you, sir," I gave a slight bow before exiting the office.

As soon as I stepped out of the office, Lisa followed after me, calling my name.

"So you’re staying here for a while, right?" She asked, placing a hand on her hip.

"Yes, thankfully, until all of this dies down."

"Same here. My brother wants me to lay low for a while."

"And what about Cross? Are you sure you don’t care about him, really?"

She looked away, avoiding my gaze. "I don’t give a damn about Cross, Ian. Not after what his family did to my mother. I’ll stop at nothing to see him and his brother pay."

"Alright," I nodded skeptically. "I had actually thought you were starting to develop feelings for him after the whole Kira identity stuff."

"Never," she gritted her teeth. "I’ll be the one to rip out his heart!" her lips slanted with contempt.

I nodded my head, although I wasn’t totally convinced. I’ve seen the way she looks at Cross’s picture, the longing in her eyes. I hope she’s right, for her sake, because Damon is planning to kill both Razor and his little brother, and I can’t fucking wait for it.
