Alpha Razor King-Chapter 79: Another Chance.
**Razor*"
I was fucking furious. I’d told Chris to leave, but somehow, he was still here.
"Do you really want to die, Chris?" I asked coldly. When he opened his mouth to speak, I raised a finger to shut him up.
"Go, right now. This is your last warning," I stated before walking into my office. I took a deep breath before relaxing on the couch. Next, I took off my suit jacket and flung it angrily onto the couch. I was clearly losing my patience.
I rested my back on the couch, shut my eyes, and after a minute or so, the door swung open. My eyes quickly opened. Who dared to come into my office without my permission?
Of course, it had to be Chris. It felt like he really had a death wish or something.
"Chris..." I started, but he cut me off.
"Boss, please, I beg you, just listen to me," he pleaded, getting on his knees in front of me. "Please, just hear me out."
"There’s nothing to say, Chris. You fucking betrayed me, that’s all!"
"I know," he lowered his gaze to the floor. "I’m so sorry, boss. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have dared to lust over your woman."
"Did you fuck her, Chris?" I asked without looking at him.
"No, sir. We only kissed," he answered regretfully.
I stared at Chris, disbelief and anger warring within me. "You kissed her and even let her escape after finding out she betrayed me?" I raised my brow. "And you want me to forgive you?"
"Boss, please, I regret everything I did," Chris pleaded. "I also thought I was doing the right thing because I knew how much you loved Tara then. I didn’t want you to do something you might regret."
"How incredible," I chuckled darkly. "And Isabella, how did you end up with her?"
He sighed, lowering his gaze back to the floor. "It was Tara. After we escaped from the mansion, she planned to kill her, so I quickly went to the hospital to save Luna. But Damon’s men got there first. I followed them to their hideout, and eventually, when she escaped, I followed her to Linkin Town."
"Did you know that Tara was working with that bastard, Tom?"
"No, sir," he shook his head vigorously. "I had no idea, I swear. We were going to come back after Luna gave birth, but we were scared of your reaction."
"And yet, here you are," I remarked snidely. "So, how did you and Tara find out that I was coming for you both?"
I didn’t miss the slight trembling of his fingers. "I... I... boss."
"Shut the fuck up!" I interrupted sharply. "It was Dean, wasn’t it?"
He swallowed nervously before nodding. "Yes, sir."
"Of course, who else would it have been?" I scoffed. Dean was obviously the one who alerted Chris and made him escape with Tara before I arrived. I knew this, but I didn’t bother to ask him. I didn’t even know why.
"You can leave now."
But instead of getting up to go, Chris crawled up to where I sat. His eyes were desperate, pleading. "Boss," he said, his voice trembling, "if I leave the mansion, I’ll probably get killed by Beta Tom and his men. It’s better I die by your hand instead."
I stared at him, incredulous. "What do you mean?"
"I mean," he continued, bowing his head down to the floor, "I betrayed you. I hurt you. And I know I deserve whatever punishment you give me. But please, boss, let it be by your hand. At least then, I’ll die knowing I did something for you, even if it’s just to ease your burden."
I was silent for a moment, processing his words. Slowly, I stood up from my chair and walked around the desk to stand in front of him. "Chris," I called, my voice softer now, "what you did was wrong. You betrayed my trust, and you hurt me deeply. But I also know that you were trying to protect me in your own way."
I reached down and lifted his chin, forcing him to look me in the eye. "I won’t kill you, Chris," I said firmly. " but I’m still so angry at you. However, I’m going to let you stay, just because you have been protecting my son all this while. For that, thank you."
I watched as surprise registered on Chris’s face, followed by tears streaking down his cheeks. I had never seen Chris cry before. "Thank you, boss, thank you," he whispered. "I’ll never betray you again, sir. I promise."
"You had better," I replied, my tone firm. "This is your last chance."
Chris nodded, wiping away his tears. "I understand, boss. And I won’t let you down again, I swear."
With that, I turned and walked back to my desk, leaving Chris to collect himself. I sat down, wondering if I was making the right decision. But deep down, I knew that Chris deserved a second chance. After all, he had been loyal to me in his own way, and that was something I couldn’t ignore.
I awoke to sun rays streaming straight into my face, feeling as though I had barely slept for an hour. I dragged my feet out of bed and walked into the bathroom to take my bath.
After almost an hour, I was done preparing for the day. A knock sounded on the door, and I invited the person in.
Dean walked in and knelt in front of me. "The car is ready, boss."
"Good, and you’ll be coming with me. I need to speak to some more people. There must be a way to lure Tom out of my damn pack."
"Let’s go," I motioned for him to follow me as we walked out of the room, making our way towards the dining area. Isabella was sitting there, with our little pup in her arms. I leaned over, pecking his soft cheek gently. He was just too adorable, and I couldn’t believe he was mine.
"Good morning, sir," Isabella greeted.
"Good morning, Isabella," I answered curtly before going to sit at the head of the table. I didn’t bother to check her reaction because, honestly, I wasn’t interested.
"I just need a little breakfast before I leave for today’s affair," I said. Isabella stood up, looking around. "Should I get you your breakfast?" she asked, her lashes fluttering nervously.
"I already got it covered," Kelsey announced, carrying a tray towards the dining table. Isabella’s lips formed a frown, but she didn’t say anything.
"I made some toast and orange juice for you, boss, just as you like," Kelsey said, a little more excited than needed to be.
"Drop it and leave," I replied coldly, not bothering to look at her.
"Yes, sir. If you need anything, just call me," she said before making her way out.
One thing about Kelsey, no matter how badly I treated her, she just kept on coming back. It was fucking annoying.
I ate my breakfast silently, lost in thought. At some point, Isabella took our little pup upstairs, probably to lay him down since he was fast asleep. I wanted to ask her how he was feeling, how she managed during the pregnancy period, how the whole experience was, but I couldn’t. I was still so angry at her.
Standing up from the chair, I adjusted my suit and began walking out of the dining room. I froze in my steps when I saw Isabella standing just at the entrance of the staircase.
"Razor," she called meekly. "I...I need to speak to you."
"Here I am, you can speak to me."
"No...I mean in private," she added shyly.
"Say what you want to say, Isabella. I’ve got no time to spare."
"Alright... I’m so glad you forgave Chris."
"Is that what you wanted to tell me?" I raised a brow at her incredulously.
"No."
I didn’t wait for her to finish her sentence before turning my back.
"Please... just listen to me," she pleaded.
I stopped, only because I knew she was crying now. "I said I was sorry."
I turned around, meeting her gaze. "You’re sorry? There’s nothing to be sorry about, Isabella. In fact, I’m the one who’s sorry for not being able to protect your parents."
"It’s not your fault, sir, it’s mine... I caused it."
Again, I wanted to tell her it wasn’t her fault, not to blame herself too much, but no words came out of my lips.
"I regret it, I... regret running away."
"It’s a little too late for regret now."
"You need to rest. I’ll see you later," I told her and began walking away.
"Razor, Razor, please," she continuously called in tears, but I had to steel my heart... I couldn’t let her move me.
"You forgave Chris, why can’t you forgive me?" She begged desperately, stepping in front of me.
"You’re not Chris. To me, you were my everything... and because of my obsession with you, my little brother is in trouble. So you’re not the one who needs forgiveness, it’s me, I need my little brother’s forgiveness."
"Razor, please, I’m sorry..."
"Stop apologizing... there’s no need."
"I’d rather you fucking punish me than tell me it’s not my fault!" She raised her voice in desperation before instinctively lowering her gaze to the floor.
It was obvious she was scared about cursing but I didn’t care right now. A year ago, I’d have bared her ass, thrown her over my knees, and gave her a sound spanking.
"You need to rest. I’ll see you later," I told her and began walking away.
"Razor, Razor, please," she continuously called in tears, but I had to steel my heart... I couldn’t let her move me.
