Alpha's Bite Between My Legs-Chapter 38: The Engagement Ring
"Lady Rosina, a pleasure to have you here," Draco greeted when he saw Rosina entering the dining room.
"Good morning, Your highness," Rosina curtsied and sat on the opposite end of the table. The servants immediately set her plate and food to eat.
Draco and Rosina looked at one another and kept eye contact the entire time without saying a single word.
After the servants were done, Rosina started eating peacefully, but she could feel Draco’s stare digging into her skin.
"Did you have a good night’s sleep, Your highness?" Rosina asked with a smile and took a bite of the sausage while looking directly at Draco. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"I had a hard time sleeping, Lady," Draco answered and drank his coffee while maintaining eye contact.
"What caused your hardship? You seemed busy with work in the palace," Rosina stated and put the sausage near her mouth, but she didn’t take a bite, rather, she licked it with mustard sauce on top.
"Ah yes, I had seen a very fascinating being that my mind tends not to forget," Draco answered and followed Rosina’s tongue. That action was enough to drive him toward the edge.
"I see, I wanted to hear about it, especially what happened after," Rosina smirked and lightly sucked the sausage before taking a bite.
Draco pursed his lips and took a deep breath to control himself. He glanced at the servants standing on the side, who were clueless as to what they were talking about.
"Leave us alone," Draco stated and all servants immediately left the room, leaving both of them alone.
"That’s an impressive move," Rosina giggled and put down her fork that contained the sausage. Her expression became serious and a smirk crept on her lips. "You seemed busy last night."
"Am I?" Draco laid back and stared at Rosina’s lips down to the robe she was wearing.
"Hmm, yes. It was music to my ears," Rosina smirked and leaned with her hands on her chin; teasing him.
Draco raised his eyebrow and chuckled in amusement. He never met someone who would daringly talk to him like that.
"I’m grateful that you liked the sound. You won’t mind hearing it quite often then?" Draco smirked and licked his lips seductively.
"Depends," Rosina replied and leaned back. Both of them stared at one another for a few seconds and the sexual tension in the air thickens.
*Cough*
Draco coughed and cleared his throat to soften the atmosphere. "Since you are here. I have something to discuss with you."
"What is it?" Rosina started eating her breakfast again since it was getting cold.
"Our wedding."
Rosina choked the milk she had drank and coughed aggressively since it got out of her nose.
"Are you okay, Lady?" Draco stood up, concerned about what had happened to Rosina.
"Ye-yes," Rosina wiped her face with a cloth before facing Draco seriously. "You are talking about our wedding?"
"Yes," Draco replied and sat down. "I want to know your opinion."
"Well, I want a simple wedding since it’s only a pretend one," Rosina stated and played with her eggs. The wedding slipped from her mind for days and she didn’t expect it to happen very soon.
"I see. Do you want to invite any guests?" Draco asked before taking a note from his pocket. Writing down the information he had gathered.
"For me, I would like it if the wedding is civil with just the two of us, but it depends on your liking as well," Rosina shrugged and didn’t pay much attention to the details and would just follow Draco’s decision.
"I see. I will think about it and inform you ahead of time," Draco stated and wiped his mouth before standing up and went toward Rosina. He took something in his pocket and slid it beside her.
"What is this?" Rosina looked at the small red velvet box.
"Your engagement ring. We’ll be meeting the Monarchy later at 2:00 in the afternoon. A carriage will be waiting outside by that time to assist you. Don’t be late," Draco explained and left the room before Rosina could speak.
Rosina sighed deeply before opening the box and saw a gigantic diamond ring in a rose shape that sparkled so much.
"Too extravagant," Rosina muttered before taking it out and put on her ring finger. "Good thing it fits."
Rosina stood up and placed the ring back on the box before leaving. Her servants were waiting outside for her. She didn’t say a thing and went back to her room as they followed behind her.
"Did you get the notice?" Rosina asked after entering her room.
"Yes, Sir Ferro told us earlier for the Monarch’s meeting. The Prince also prepared the clothes you’ll be wearing later as well," Fina explained and Sal went ahead and showed the box that contained Rosina’s gown.
"Well then, let’s get ready now," Rosina stated and took a deep breath before she went to the bathroom for a bath.
Hours goes by, and Rosina’s back was aching from sitting for too long. Fina and Sal were working on her hair and make-up for her to look presentable.
Rosina could sense that they were nervous base on how they repeatedly made mistakes and did few retouches, especially on the hair.
"Are you two okay?" Rosina asked and made them stop working.
"Yes, Lady. We apologize for our mistakes," Fina said and bent her head down.
"We wanted the best when you faced the King and Queen, Lady," Sal pouted shyly. Both of them were anxious that Rosina would have a bad image to the Monarchy if they did a bad job dressing her up.
"Hmm, I only wanted to be simple and highlight my natural features. For the hair, you can make it into braids," Rosina stated and gestured them to the areas she wanted to emphasize.
"We’ll do our best, Lady!" both Sal and Fina exclaimed and started working again.
Rosina smiled at their hard work and determination for her and the final look didn’t disappoint at all.
