Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 209-Kissed Her And She Slapped Me
Luca:
I guess my constant flirting made Iris a little uncomfortable. She gave me a weak, awkward smile before pointing toward the inside of the mansion, likely referring to wanting to go and check on their children.
As she stepped away, I could not help but stare at her for too long. Kash did not need her.
He already had someone in his life. What bothered me the most was why Iris could not see it. Why could she not be stubborn enough to demand rejection?
Why was she dragging it out so much? I guess I would never understand. To be honest, it irked me.
While I was busy thinking about Iris, someone else stepped outside, as if she also needed a moment to breathe in peace. Lara’s eyes landed on me, and she instantly straightened her posture.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, forcing a smile.
She could not fool me. I knew she was bothered by watching Kash and Iris together, especially by the fact that Kash was holding lunches and dinners for her family.
"So, couldn’t get married, huh?" she remarked, taking a deep breath as she adjusted her stance.
She held one arm in front of her body and looked ahead at the view. It was probably going to rain too.
"Yeah, things could not go well between us, and just as we broke up, her brother and mother started forcing us to be together." I had to come up with an excuse, a lie, to hide the truth from this woman.
That could be very dangerous. I knew that because I had seen her around for a while, and I had noticed the way she looked at Iris and her children with so much disdain and anger.
"It must bother you so much that she’s back with her husband, almost like she used you," Lara taunted, trying to sound as if she held empathy for me. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
But I knew the truth. This woman could not even hold empathy for herself. If someone paid more attention to her, she would even grow jealous of herself. That was her truth.
"No, it’s fine. I’m happier now, and she is happy where she is," I replied, just to get under her skin.
I could tell she wanted to provoke me, to push me into making a mistake. I was not going to give her that.
"Right," she responded bitterly.
Like I said, she was trying to turn me against Iris.
"Anyway, that club you go to sucks," I remarked, trying to change the topic.
"It does," she agreed. "I can see that. I remember this one time I went there, and I was so drunk that I woke up in a stranger’s clothes. Of course, Kash knows about it, but it’s just a funny story to tell our children later."
Lara, being Lara, started yapping about herself. I had noticed she would not talk to she-wolves like that, but she would be overly nice to male wolves, as long as they were related to the she-wolves she hated. Otherwise, she would not even look at them.
"Really? Someone else’s clothes? You mean a man’s clothes?" I asked, laughing.
"Yeah, and I’m pretty sure he wore my clothes. I don’t know where he went. I don’t know who he was. He just left me in the room. Oh my Goddess, it was so embarrassing," she muttered, rolling her eyes as if she remembered something.
It was me who spat my drink out.
"Yeah, right. My clothes," she repeated.
She probably thought that was what my reaction came from, so she repeated the words. However, my mind went numb for a moment. I stared at her face, and suddenly, it hit me. I recognized her.
"What?" she asked, finishing her drink that she had grabbed from a server with a rude gesture of her finger, signaling him to step out of the mansion.
"What is it? You’re scaring me," she added.
I had to shake myself and look away.
"Nothing. I just need to go inside," I told her, excusing myself as I rushed away.
I could hear her grunt behind me, almost in confusion over why I was suddenly leaving, but I had a very good reason. I recognized her. And with that, I began to remember a part of my past, and it scared me.
"Are you okay?" Iris noticed me and asked, but I rushed to grab my wallet from the table.
"Um, no. I would like to take my leave now," I told Iris, not even looking at her.
When I turned around, I noticed Kash standing behind her. It was one of those things where wherever she went, he seemed to appear out of nowhere.
She turned to focus on Kash, and when she turned her head back again, something inside me flipped.
I was anxious, angry, and worried, and I decided to damage their relationship with one clear move instead of waiting around.
"Anyway, take care," I remarked.
As soon as I said that and stepped towards her, I gave her a quick peck on the lips.
It was casual, but it was on the lips. Even she was paralyzed for a moment.
I could already tell Kash did not like it. When I pulled away and started to pass him, he grabbed my arm and slammed me against the wall.
"What the fuck was that?" he shouted, forcing me to look at Iris as she rushed forward and stood between us.
"What are you doing, Kash?" she snapped. "You have no right to attack someone. I’m not yours to take that step for."
I wanted that to happen. I could already tell their relationship was strained because of Lara. Kash had the audacity to be angry at someone else for giving his wife a friendly kiss when he was spending nights with Lara.
"Iris, don’t fucking test my patience. How many times do I have to remind you that I don’t want you close to him?" Kash yelled at her.
Instead of taking it from him, she pushed him away, pointing a finger at his chest.
"Stay away from my business," she told him.
That was all she said before she turned around. Then she suddenly slapped me across the face. I stood there stunned, my hand pressed to my cheek.
"Do not fucking kiss me again unless you have my consent," she warned.
That was where I fucked up. Her reaction was a little too strong. Then she did not wait for either of us and walked off, leaving Kash and me glaring at each other.
