Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 251-An Excuse To Stay
Lara:
When I woke up in the hospital, all I could think about was the timing of my collapse.
I was glad it happened.
The stress had finally caught up with me.
The doctor entered with a file and informed me that they had taken blood for tests. They would explain what had happened once the results were ready. For now, he believed I had been under extreme stress.
"Don’t tire yourself. Don’t exhaust yourself. I’m telling you, I’m with you. I will never allow Kash to keep Iris at the mansion," his mother assured me.
She had stayed with me the entire time, and when I woke up, she came into my room.
Since then, she has been trying to comfort me.
No, I don’t think it will work anymore.
I have seen the resilience in his eyes, and I am starting to wonder if he only married me for the crown.
What are the chances?
I let out a small cry and pressed my face into my hands.
It hurt to realize that all this time, I had been loyal and loving to him, and he had not been the same.
How did I not suspect it?
Thinking back, the fact that he would not let me touch him should have been a red flag. I told myself I was giving him privacy. I believed I was respecting his space.
I guess this is where I fucked up.
I should not have done that.
I should have confronted him and demanded he sleep with me.
"Lara, Iris has one thing that you don’t have," his mother insisted.
"That is the only reason I can think of for why he suddenly went back to Iris."
She was still delusional, acting as if there were some other explanation for his sudden shift.
"You’re going to say the children, then stop," I warned her.
She straightened in her seat and looked at me, sadness in her eyes.
"Because I know for a fact that is not the truth. The truth is that he wanted the crown. That is why the minute he got it, he kicked me out."
The call he made to my father, the honeymoon trip, everything was just him trying to fool me.
"Oh my Goddess, I’m so stupid," I muttered, burying my face in my hands as I started to cry again.
"So what are you going to do now? Just sit back and let her have him?" she demanded, watching me with disapproval.
"What else can I do? Beg him to keep me?" I shot back.
"I tried. It didn’t work. He made his decision. It is final."
I responded harshly, annoyed that she still refused to understand the simple truth.
He played me.
"And did you call him? Did you ask him to come see me?" I questioned, playing with the sheet over my body.
Even though I knew he had played me, I still found myself staring at the door, wondering if he would show up.
That was the saddest part.
What hurt the most was that he did not even remember that before his snake of a mate arrived, we were lovers too.
He forgot everything.
"He’s busy right now, but I’m sure he will come. He’s my son. I know him," his mother insisted, making excuses again.
I felt him slipping through my fingers.
And I knew I would not be able to watch him leave.
Some miracle had to happen.
Something that would make him choose me again.
This time, I would win his heart.
And I would get rid of that stupid ass bitch.
"I think he never forgave me," I murmured, sniffling. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"For what?" his mother asked.
I closed my eyes and turned my face away.
"Are you forgetting that I cheated on him once?" I replied.
"I should have known a man never forgets that easily."
The silence from his mother told me she hated talking about the night I hurt her son.
"But I’m telling you, I was just drunk that night. That is how it happened," I added.
"You know, some people even say it is considered rape if someone is drunk."
I tried to justify myself.
The sad part was that I was not drunk.
I only got drunk afterward.
I met a masked man. He was charming.
I fucked with him in the club’s bathroom.
Then we moved somewhere else.
We drank together because we both knew we wanted to end up in another intimate moment.
After that, we both passed out.
When I woke up, he was gone.
I was glad he had left.
It was not like I wanted to stay with him.
But that one night ruined everything.
"Don’t beat yourself up. Let’s first find out why you passed out. They will bring the test results, and then we can leave. I’m taking you home with me. And if he kicks you out, then I will tell him he is kicking me out too," his mother assured me.
She was the only good thing in my life at that moment.
When she said that, hope stirred inside me.
If she pressured him, it might help.
Then it felt as if the moon goddess had finally heard me.
After hours of waiting, the doctor walked in smiling, holding a file.
"What is it? Are we free to go now?" Lady Vivian asked, not noticing the smile on the doctor’s face.
"She can leave, but don’t you want to know the results?" the doctor replied, her smile widening.
"Is she okay?" Lady Vivian pressed, confused.
My eyes remained fixed on the doctor’s expression.
"More than okay. But you need to take extra care of her because she is going to give birth to our alpha king’s heir," the doctor announced.
My hands flew to my mouth.
Lady Vivian turned to me, disbelief and happiness written across her face.
That was it.
This was my chance to return to Kash’s life and fix everything.
This time, I would not repeat my mistakes.
I would not wait for him to throw that bitch out.
I would do it myself.
