Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 269-Luca, A Friend Or A Foe?
Iris:
"When will I get answers to my questions?" Kash’s mother asked again, looking at each of us with a dangerously sharp gaze.
There was anger in her eyes, and honestly, I did not blame her. Someone had entered her house and tried to snatch her grandchildren from her. They had attacked her as well.
"Mother, I am handling everything. When I have answers myself, I will tell you," Kash replied.
As soon as he said that, I saw a wave of anger cross his mother’s face. It was as if she was not satisfied with that response.
"Whatever it is, I want answers soon. And I want to know what the truth is," she insisted, looking at me. It felt like a warning, as if she knew there was another truth connected to me.
Then she stood up and walked dramatically toward her room.
"Lady Vivian is not wrong. She has been the wife of an Alpha King, and now she is the mother of an Alpha King. Of course, she is worried about the safety of her territory," my father said, defending her.
If seen from one side, she was right. They both were right.
The problem was that if Lady Vivian learned my truth, she would be the first to inform everyone that I was a Lycan in the werewolf community. She would also be the first to turn people against me.
"For now, Iris needs to rest. Tomorrow we will sit together and figure out what is happening. By then, we may also have some idea who helped those people enter the mansion," Kash said as he extended his hand toward me.
I first turned to my father and kissed his cheek goodnight. Then I took Kash’s hand and stood up to go to my room.
When I looked back, my father and James were also heading toward their rooms.
As soon as we entered our room, Kash locked the door, and we both lay down on the bed.
"What do you think happened?" I asked Kash while cuddling him.
My ear rested against his chest, and I could hear his heartbeat.
"Someone from inside the mansion has rebelled. That is how they knew there was work going on in the kitchen today, and that movement in and out had become easier for outsiders," Kash explained.
He was only wearing shorts, and I was in a very thin, short nightdress. My fingers were touching the pendant around his neck.
He folded one arm behind his head and stared at the ceiling.
"Are you hiding something from me?" I asked softly.
He lowered his eyes and looked at me.
"I had Luca’s phone checked over the past few days," As soon as he said that, I lifted my head from his chest and slightly raised my body to look at him. My hand rested on his chest, and I could feel the rise and fall of his breathing.
"He was receiving many calls from your mother and your brother from the East," Kash continued.
My heart skipped a beat when he said that.
"But this was old data. He did not answer a single call, and he never responded to any of them. He only cut the calls," Kash clarified.
"So far, that is all we know. Tomorrow we will get today’s data," he added.
As soon as he said that, I hugged Kash and closed my eyes. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
I seriously did not want to believe that someone could fall so low. But then I remembered what he had said.
He wanted to return home. Had he, in his foolishness, made some kind of deal with the devil?
Thinking that, I slowly drifted back to sleep.
Early in the morning, we were all awake. Noise had already started coming from outside, and my children were running around.
Kash quickly took a shower, and I got ready after him. I wanted us to find out as soon as possible what had happened the day before yesterday and who had caused the rebellion.
It was dangerous. It meant someone had given our enemies access to our mansion.
Anything could have happened during that time. If they had wanted, they could have poisoned us.
So many thoughts were running through our minds. Still, we decided to spend the day normally for the sake of the children, or at least act normal in front of them.
"Mama, Mama!"
As soon as they saw me stepping out of the room, both of them rushed toward me and wrapped themselves around my legs.
I could not help laughing. I picked Amy up in my arms while Kash lifted Colin and walked toward the living room.
At that moment, the guest house felt crowded. I had a feeling someone’s mood was bound to sour.
By that, I meant Lara and Lady Vivian, who were sitting near the large window on coffee chairs, having their breakfast.
"How are you now, Iris?" Zoe asked from the other side of the couch.
She was sitting with my father. When I came out, I had noticed they were talking happily and laughing for quite some time.
"I am better," I replied.
As I moved toward the edge of the couch and sat down, I looked at Zoe.
"Thank you, Zoe. If you had not saved me, no one else would have even thought of it," I said, my eyes shifting toward Lady Vivian and Lara.
I did not know where Markus was. He was probably outside. I knew he did not enjoy sitting with the family.
"Oh, there is no need to thank me. You are my brother’s wife. You are part of our family," Zoe said, smiling before she looked back at my father.
"You were telling me something. Please continue. How did you see your friend fall into the water and then save him?" Zoe asked my father.
That was when I realized my father was telling her stories from his childhood, and she was listening with genuine interest.
My attention shifted back to Lara.
It seemed as if the two of them had their breakfast prepared separately, while everyone else’s breakfast was still being made.
"Iris, those people who came yesterday were sent by your mother, weren’t they?" Lara asked.
As soon as she questioned me in a bitter tone, silence filled the living room.
I looked at my children. They were staring at me with frightened faces.
