Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 290-Always A Fool
Lara:
Everything was moving so smoothly, as if everyone was walking straight into the trap on their own. Iris had exposed herself as a complete fool.
I was happy watching her. That same foolishness had finally come between her and Kash. Otherwise, Kash would never have taken our side the way he did.
Just as she left with those shopping bags, Markus entered the house.
"Where were you all day?" Lady Vivian asked him, because I had already told her I suspected the two of them had gone out together. Kash still had no idea about that.
"I took Iris shopping today. She said she needed to buy something," Markus replied in a careful, casual tone, the kind that would not invite suspicion.
But the moment he said it, Kash stiffened. He stared at him as if he had just been hit with a shock.
"You were out with Iris?" Kash asked. I did not need to speak. I did not want it to seem like I was the one filling his ears. I wanted them to catch Iris in her mistakes naturally.
"Yes, we just got back," Markus answered casually. "I will go check on Zoe."
With that, he left. He had done his job, and he was doing it well. He was following everything exactly the way I had told him, without making a single mistake.
The big surprise for Zoe was my idea, planned with Markus. Through it, I was going to turn Lady Vivian, Kash, and Zoe against Iris. I wanted to show that Iris was worried about another woman’s husband because she liked entertaining men.
As soon as Markus walked away, I heard Lady Vivian’s sharp breath. She was so angry that her eyes had turned red.
"Did you hear that?" Lady Vivian asked Kash.
He slowly nodded.
"I heard everything. I saw it too," he replied, and it was clear from his tone that he did not like the fact that Iris had lied.
"Maybe they just went shopping," I said innocently, trying to remove suspicion from myself.
"If it was nothing, then why did she lie?" Lady Vivian snapped at me.
I pouted and lowered my head.
"I do not know."
I acted as if I had no clue. Whenever I spoke to Lady Vivian about Iris’s character, after saying enough to provoke doubt, I would soften my tone and say it might not be such a big issue. That always made me look innocent.
"Do you even realize there are already differences between Zoe and Markus because he does not give her time? And now your wife is taking that time from him," Lady Vivian said, her anger rising.
For the first time, I noticed Kash was not snapping at us. To be honest, it did look wrong. I had never expected Iris to be so blindly trusting of Markus, unable to see how others were watching her with suspicion. Even her own husband was beginning to show irritation.
I suppose it came from the issues already existing between her and Kash because of Luca.
"I will talk to her," Kash said to his mother.
"There is no need to speak to her right now. I do not want any drama yet," Lady Vivian replied immediately.
We did not want to act until we had solid proof, and that proof was coming the day after tomorrow. Something big was going to happen. After that, Kash himself would humiliate Iris and throw her out of this house.
Iris’s ego was going to get her kicked out in the worst possible way, and I was waiting for that moment.
"Just go to your room and give time to your wife. When you do not, she starts looking for attention from other men," Lady Vivian added.
My body tensed at her words. I expected Kash to explode, but he did not. He only grunted and started to get up.
I gently held his hand.
He stopped and turned to look at me.
"Please do not stress too much. And do not argue with her. You have worked all day," I said softly, blinking innocently. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Kash looked stunned. The kind of affection he had always expected from Iris was now coming from me.
"At least someone still cares," Kash said.
That comment made my heart ache for him.
"I always will, Kash. You are, and you will always be my priority," I told him in a confident tone, watching his eyes soften for me.
"You should go and rest too," he replied.
Earlier, he had said he would take me out for a walk. I had been excited, yet when he came home, I did not ask him a single question about it. I wanted him to see that I understood he was anxious because Iris had not been home. I acted as if his mental state mattered more to me than that walk.
And it seemed to work.
He had been looking at me with soft, gentle eyes.
"I am so proud of you, Lara. You made me realize I chose the right one for him," Lady Vivian said.
That comment alone made Kash look away.
"You both should rest too," he uttered, walking toward his room.
But this time, there was no urgency in his steps to be with Iris.
When he finally left, Lady Vivian held my hand and gave it a firm shake.
"It seems my son is finally opening his eyes and seeing her true colors," she remarked, a bright smile resting on her lips.
"Yes, but I am worried about him. He looks so upset because of it," I said, pouting.
She rolled her eyes at my sweetness and gently slapped my cheek.
"You are so innocent, honestly. Do not worry. Iris is earning her own karma by ruining my daughter’s marriage. She deserves to be exposed," Lady Vivian said, squeezing my hand again.
I pretended to look anxious about what would happen next. After that I returned to my room when I received a call from my father.
But the moment I answered, I realized it was a different kind of good news.
"They have found the children," my father said as soon as he heard me breathe on the line.
