Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever-Chapter 14 - Don’t ever go close to her again
A few days ago, after Daisy was brought to the hospital by Ravyn, he had excused himself as the medical staff attended to her.
"You are fine," the doctor said after treating her injury, but Daisy grabbed his coat and demanded seriously, "Drain my blood. Tell Ravyn that I bled too much, and without Seraphine’s blood, I would die."
"But..." the doctor wanted to refuse, but Daisy glared at him. "Don’t forget that Seraphine already signed the divorce papers. I’m going to be the Luna, and would you rather be on my negative side?"
The doctor contemplated, then pursed his lips. "What if Luna Seraphine doesn’t give her blood?" He was there at the co-Luna coronation, and the woman he saw did not look like their Luna.
She had changed in ways no one could describe but Daisy seemed to be the only one blind to that fact. "She will," Daisy said assuring, having known Seraphine all her life. The latter was too kind to refuse. "And when she comes, I want you to drain everything. Make sure she dies in the process."
Daisy’s eyes were cold, and she looked nothing like the frail, sweet girl they had known all these years. The doctor shivered at the discovery of this side of her but nodded.
As soon as her blood was drained, the doctor went to inform Ravyn, urging him to go after Seraphine.
Daisy smiled triumphantly, but the doctor felt guilty. Still, when he saw Seraphine’s parents come to visit, he was relieved of his guilt.
Seraphine’s parents never visited her at the hospital, and yet they came to visit Daisy. But when Ravyn returned without Seraphine, Daisy’s joy began to shake. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
She had tried every means, including letting Ravyn give half of the pack to Alpha Voren in exchange for his convincing Seraphine to give her blood.
To her, she would be happy for as long as Seraphine was dead. Now Ravyn had returned, and Daisy wanted the good news.
"Daisy, you have to take the human blood," Ravyn declared, feeling like a loser as he added, "Seraphine is never coming back."
Daisy broke down, her hopes crashed as fake tears slid down her cheeks. "It’s my fault," she said in a weak voice. "I should go and talk to her. My life doesn’t matter. I know that even if I die, she would take good care of Bryan. Seraphine has been good to me all her life."
As the doctor listened from the corner, a chill ran down his veins. The devil no longer walked around with horns and a black hood. No, the devil was right there in the VIP ward, and that was Daisy.
She had portrayed Seraphine as bad, and even as the doctor realized it, he knew the Alpha would not believe his words about Daisy. No wonder Beta Corvine left. Perhaps he should too, before things got out of hand.
"No, you don’t have to go apologize to her. She’s vile, but I need you alive and strong. For me, and for Bryan," Ravyn said softly, sauntering and sitting beside her on the bed.
He kissed her on the forehead and pulled her into his arms, filling her with his warmth. "Don’t worry. Seraphine is out of our lives for good."
Something dimmed in Daisy’s eyes, but because of the embrace, Ravyn could not see it.
Daisy did not want Seraphine gone. She wanted her to suffer in the pack. She enjoyed seeing the pain in Seraphine’s eyes whenever the pack members talked badly about her.
That was what gave her joy. "No, please don’t finalize the divorce. I know she’ll regret it." Daisy did not care that Seraphine was Luna. Each time she refused to sign the divorce papers, it brought joy to Daisy because Seraphine only had the title, whereas Daisy had not only Ravyn but also her son.
Besides, Ravyn spent all his nights with her in her room, leaving Seraphine deprived.
For as long as she could continue seeing Seraphine in pain, her joy would be complete, but she was not prepared for what came next.
"That would never happen. She gladly disowned her parents, and now my parents have legally adopted her. They’re even ready to disown me for her."
Daisy stiffened in his arms and slowly pulled away, putting on another pity show to mask the pain of not seeing or hearing how broken she wanted Seraphine to be. "It’s my fault. I’m so sorry. Let me go and apologize to her."
Her heart ached because she could not get the last laugh. It was just like before. Whenever Daisy won over Seraphine’s parents, the then Luna and Alpha would stand for her.
She wondered if there had been a switch. They would rather take Seraphine’s side than that of their own son, Ravyn.
Ravyn’s expression was stern, and his voice carried warning. "Don’t ever go close to her again. That woman has lost her mind and can do anything. She even attacked Alpha Voren, and now he’s upset."
It was as if a bucket of cold water was poured over Daisy. Her knuckles turned white at her sides from balling her fists so hard.
Wherever Seraphine was, she wanted to be, not for partnership, but a constant thorn in her flesh. But Ravyn’s parents would never let her into their house. "I’m sorry for all the trouble. I’ll take the human blood, though it will make me weak."
Now that she thought about it, she could use it as a cover if she was not able to manage the pack like Seraphine did.
Blood transfusion from a human to that of a werewolf could make them weak for months until their blood revived, which could take longer.
Ravyn contemplated her words. The pack needed a strong, not a weak Luna.
Before he could think of something, the doctor cleared his throat. "Alpha..."
Ravyn turned to him. "We won’t give her human blood anymore. There is a better option..." the doctor began, Daisy turned pale, her teeth grinding together. Was he going to tell on her? What should she do?
