An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 139: A lady on my bed
Chapter 139: A lady on my bed
They both stopped when Riven yelled. He looked at them, making sure that they both stopped their attacks, then he spoke.
"Look here, I don’t know what differences you two have with each other, but as you two can clearly see and tell, I am confused—utterly confused.
So please do me a solid here—what the hell is going on?" he asked.
The both of them paused for a moment, not saying anything more. Then the lady spoke.
"There are some things that are far above what we can say to you, as we are sealed, the both of us.
What I can tell you is that she is my sister, and we aren’t of this world, but we are connected to it. If you want to know everything, then you have to keep getting stronger. The stronger you are, the more mysteries you can unlock.
I told you before, all the stars around me are seals, like I have said. If you wish to grow stronger and also get answers, then you can touch one of them. But be warned, each one of those stars is tied to trials and battles that will try to kill you.
The more you unlock, the more access you get to my past. I believe my sister is doing something similar with you. The only issue is that the methods we were sealed with were different, and so it makes our effect different," the lady explained. She said a lot, and Riven understood much of it.
It still didn’t make full sense, but he could wrap his head around it. Right now, he felt like the answers to everything were right in front of him, yet they refused to give them to him.
"Sigh, you have always been selfish, sister—talking about how to release you by breaking the seals, as if that’s what is important," the iron maiden said.
"What do you mean? I’m giving him a way that he’ll get stronger for what is coming," the lady said.
"You should have led with that," the iron maiden replied.
"What is coming, please? I feel like that’s something very important for me to know," Riven said.
"Something is coming. It has decimated worlds before, and it is coming for yours. It was never able to access this world before because some sort of power was stopping it. But then you, an outsider, came," the lady said.
"Your presence weakened the structure of this world, and it allowed it to slowly start seeping into this world.
We have been watching everything with you, even when you saw those visions of other worlds. The destruction and chaos you see there are caused by the same thing that is coming here, and it is all because of you and your actions," the lady said.
"Because of me?" Riven asked.
"Yes. You are something that doesn’t belong, and as such, you have changed everything that is to be. Your world is under a threat—something looming over all your heads, and soon it will come.
You have to move faster, grow stronger, or what you see in those visions will happen to your world—a world on fire, with everyone dead and gone," she said.
Because of me? My actions? These two know that I don’t belong here? It doesn’t make any sense. I haven’t done anything that should bring the destruction of the world, right? This can’t be all my fault, right?
All I wanted was to spite Frozen Fish, not to sabotage the lives of everyone that lived here. Are they all going to die because of me? This can’t be happening, right? Riven began panicking. He looked up, thousands of questions filling his mind—questions he needed to ask. But as he looked up, he saw everything getting blurry.
What’s happening? Wait, I have a lot to ask.
He tried to take a step forward—splash. He was pulled back into the water, and he saw the world of flames vanish right before him, his body sinking deeper into the water until he finally made it out the other side.
The moment he did, his eyes opened back in Yue’s real world. He jerked up, but a sharp pain all over his body sent him back down to the bed.
"Arghhhhhhh," he groaned in pain.
It was then he realized that he was lying inside the infirmary of the academy.
That place—I have to find a way back. I need them to answer my questions, but let’s leave it for now, Riven thought.
He turned his head a little to see around him, and he noticed someone beside him—someone that he didn’t expect even in the slightest. Sofia. Her head was rested on the bed while she was asleep.
What the hell is she doing here? What’s going on? He started thinking of what exactly would make Sofia be here.
Suddenly, she lifted her head, her eyes opening. She stretched her body and let out a yawn. She opened her eyes fully, and her gaze met with Riven’s eyes.
Riven immediately looked away, not wanting her to get weirded out. He still recalled when she called him disgusting when they first met.
"Is there something on my face?" she asked.
"Uhhh, no," he responded.
"Then why did you look away?" she asked.
"Uhm, it’s nothing. I just didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable that I was staring at you," he said quickly.
"I was sleeping beside you," she let out a small yawn. "If anything, you should be the one uncomfortable. That being said, I wouldn’t leave even if you found it uncomfortable," she said.
"Huh?" Riven turned to look at her. "First question—why are you here? If I recall, you don’t like me," he said.
"I didn’t hate you. I simply misjudged you," she said. Her voice sounded innocent, as if she wasn’t capable of any sin.
"But when everything happened, you saved me. I passed out, but I could still tell who held me thanks to my spirit zone.
And you made sure to not be inappropriate. I also learned from the others about what you did during the battle," she said.
