Chapter 112: Something I Remember

"Everything can run smoothly. Look, like I said, there are only one or two people I respect as much as I respect Lady Nyx. One of them is my sister, I never disobey her, and if she asks me to destroy a country, I will do whatever I can, so you can understand how far I would go for Lady Nyx."

"But. There is one thing that must be understood. Never, ever, under any circumstances, will anyone under my command or authority be harmed, especially by you guys. Since Cassandra is not likely to stop chasing me, she will live in the Duchy. In that case, there will be both me and a direct Sage in my territory."

When Atlas uttered these words, everyone could do nothing but shut up.

"Here’s what you need to understand. If you do not break the rules, you will have all the territory I will give you. This region will be one of the regions in front of the mountain range." Atlas added, and then he held out his hand to Cassandra and asked, "Can I have the sketches?"

When Cassandra took out the area sketches, Atlas took the huge pages in his hand and then marked the area to be given.

"As you can see, I aim to give you this region," Atlas said.

One of the Archbishops was surprised when he saw the area and Atlas said, "This is in the southern part of the city to be established, in the widespread area above the forest area."

"It’s a pretty big area. The reason I’m giving you so many rules is that I’m only going to allow one church for the whole city. The Church of Time will be with you, though. After all, Chronos deserves as much respect as Lady Nyx," Atlas muttered as he folded the sketch paper and handed it back to Cassandra.

"You are welcome in my city if you abide by the rules that Cassandra has set in place, and if you do not disrupt the co-existence of all races."

Atlas spread his hands as he finished his words and then shrugged, "Well? What do you say?" he muttered.

As soon as he finished, each of the Archbishops fell to their knees and said, "We are at your service, sir." and fell silent.

Atlas was about to speak when Cassandra said, "I will speak to the Pope of the Church of Night personally, don’t worry."

Atlas shook his head up and down and turned to the members of Ares’ church standing next to his sister and said, "I hope you understand."

The church members immediately shook their heads, but Atlas, as if he had nothing to do anymore, said, "I really need to rest now. Tomorrow is the arena exam after all." and then shrugged his shoulders and prepared to get up.

Cordelia had no intention of letting him go, though.

She quickly sent the members of both churches out of her office and then pinned Atlas to his seat with her spell.

As Atlas struggled to understand what was going on, Cordelia approached him and then muttered, "So, are you going to tell me how you used all the flames or am I going to torture you?"

"Gulp."

Atlas swallowed loudly in what seemed to be a serious, slightly comical situation, then smiled and said, "Um...Cough..." and fell silent.

"Hmm?" Cordelia questioned, looking at Atlas with a frown.

"I’ve always been able to do it, I mean, I’ve been able to do it since I started using magic," Atlas couldn’t take it anymore.

Cordelia smiled at these words and then questioned, "Are you serious?"

When Atlas shook his head, the ancient woman stopped enveloping him in her magic and then said, "Oh...well, that was unexpected." and took the seat behind him.

Cordelia wasn’t the only one surprised, of course. 8 Sacred Fire was something much deeper than expected. It was something that could not be understood by the capacity of mortal minds.

All that was known was that there had never been anyone who could use more than one colour of flame unless they were literal god-borns that were being said that they did exist. So even if there had been a human that could pull this up, neither Cordelia nor the others knew about it.

It was something more associated with the gods of flame, and even they would have taken a great deal of time to fully accomplish it. And these were people who were literally born gods and goddesses. It was absurd for an ordinary person to be able to use all the colours of flame, while even those whose bodies were omnipotent had to work.

"You need to get stronger. We are doing our best to protect you at all costs, I should give you some pills, at least to increase your mana gain..." Cordelia said, and then she looked Atlas in the eye and said the following words:

"Atlas...my precious student...you can’t die, you can never, ever die."

Atlas scratched his head when he heard those few words. He just looked at his only teacher where he was and could do nothing but blink his eyes and say, "I promise, master."

After those words, it was time for Atlas to rest. Cordelia and the others had stopped him, though, and officially created a bed in the office.

Before Atlas even realised what was happening, Cordelia said, "You must be protected. Many ruthless nobles from many empires and kingdoms are here. Even if their children become good people because of you, it’s impossible to say you won’t be assassinated out of the blue."

Atlas turned to Cordelia, forcibly tucked into bed, and said, "The other students? What if something happens to them?" he questioned.

"The exam only lasts for two days, Atlas. Dumgrith and the others are personally checking all the students every second, don’t worry and rest," Cordelia replied.

With that, Atlas took a deep breath as if he understood and then questioned, "Is everyone going to stay here or are you going to let me sleep?"

In his words, everyone had officially moved to the other side of the office to get away from him.

Atlas managed to fall asleep after a very, very short time. The realm of dreams was waiting for him...

Atlas opened his eyes to find himself in Cordelia’s office. The office was empty. Cordelia, who had told him he needed to be protected, and perhaps every single person he had come to care about, seemed to have disappeared.

The voices that had been raised in the entire academy had disappeared and silence seemed to reign over everything.

Atlas stood up from where he was lying. After wandering around the office for a bit, he left the office and looked left and right, trying to find someone.

He failed to see anyone and then started walking to the left of the office in an effort to get down to the lower floors.

Normally the entire floor would be full of mage guards, but the fact that no one was currently on this floor worried Atlas inwardly.

With each step he took, the anxiety in him grew and he began to get the impression that someone was watching him.

He began to walk around the huge academy and searched each area one by one in about an hour.

No one was there. There was not a sound. Not a bird glittering, not a stream of water, not the sound of anyone talking.

Atlas began to walk towards the main garden of the academy. He was constantly looking behind him and mostly around him, and the feeling that someone was watching him was growing stronger and stronger.

It was at that moment that Atlas felt his shadow begin to grow and two cats jumped out of it.

"Amon! Surtur! Thank God there’s someone!" Atlas muttered and was about to pet the cats when his whole body shook from head to toe. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Amon and Surtur were instantly angry, the cats were going crazy.

Atlas turned directly behind him and saw someone with dark, red eyes staring back at him. It was an incredibly large being.

Before he could question who it was, the dark figure had appeared in front of Atlas. The dark figure looked right into Atlas’ eyes and then a mouth formed on its face. The dark figure suddenly spoke.

"+*$#<!"

Atlas fell to his knees as soon as he heard this figure’s voice. He had to cover his ears. The voice was so sultry, sarcastic and screeching that Atlas felt like his eardrums would burst.

The dark figure tried to reach for the cats behind Atlas at that moment.

Atlas instantly stopped covering his ears and punched the dark figure square in the face.

"What do you think you’re doing to my children?!" shouted Atlas. Of course, he was not going to let any harm come to his precious cats.

The dark figure screamed in pain and took a few steps backwards. At that moment, the area around Atlas began to change.

Before Atlas realised what was happening, Atlas had come to a place where others were crying. It was raining, dark clouds covered the sky and umbrellas were opening around, taking the sound of the rain.

Atlas was in front of a coffin. Aether and Aelia were with him.

Atlas knew what this image was. Of course, he knew what this image was, the one he had never forgotten, the one that had haunted him for years and years.

How... how could he forget?
