A sickening crack echoed across the battlefield as the Troll’s skull fractured under the force of Alex’s strike.

The Troll’s massive body fell to the ground with an earth-shaking thud, its head caved in from Alex’s devastating punch.

Including the 9 stat points he’d already earned, his total now sat at a hefty 48 stat points—all racked up in minutes.

Thanks to his title’s doubling effect, he was reaping rewards at an unprecedented pace.

That was almost the value of an upgrade stone, and this was just the beginning.

But there was no time to bask in victory.

A low, guttural growl echoed behind him, followed by a chorus of snarls and roars.

Alex turned to face the source, and his sharp gaze fell on the next wave of attackers.

Emerging from the shadows, a horde of corrupted beasts closed in on him, their glowing, hate-filled eyes fixed on their target.

[Blight Wolves] [Blight Deer]

[Blight Tiger] [Blight Bear]

[Blight Troll]

Their numbers swelled, easily totaling over a hundred.

The cursed sigil on Alex’s neck pulsed faintly, its dark energy acting like a beacon, drawing them all to him.

Alex let out a low chuckle, shaking his head.

"Looks like I’ve got a knack for attracting hordes of monsters," he said, a grin spreading across his face.

But he wasn’t intimidated.

No, he welcomed the challenge.

Every monster he killed meant more Nightmare Points.

Every kill meant more stat points to fuel his rise. This wasn’t just survival—it was an opportunity.

Alex ran a hand through his hair, brushing it back casually, though his eyes burned with determination.

"These aren’t just monsters trying to kill me," he muttered, his voice low but resolute.

"No… They’re the foundation for my rise to power. This entire nightmare…"

His blade hummed faintly in his hand, energy surging through it.

He raised the weapon, pointing it toward the monstrous horde encircling him.

"If I come out on top, my rise will truly begin," Alex declared, his tone calm but resolute. "And if I fail... well, I die. No middle ground."

With that, he shifted into a ready stance, the blade trembling slightly from the power building within it.

The monsters surged forward, their roars deafening, their charge unstoppable.

Alex grinned, adrenaline surging through his veins as he activated [Exploding Touch], infusing his sword’s hilt with volatile energy, primed to transfer.

It was time to blow some shit up.

Brief Interlude ~ Oracle

"No, no, no!"

The Oracle paced back and forth, his glowing eyes darting between the pulsating screens that filled his zone.

Each one displayed the same thing:

Alex tearing through the Nightmare World.

His claws flew over a glowing console as he tried to adjust the system settings.

Numbers and lines of code danced across the screens, but every adjustment was immediately rejected.

"No matter what I do... it won’t take hold!"

"Dammit!" he roared, slamming a clawed paw into the console.

A shockwave of energy radiated out, cracking the wall and sending shards of glowing crystal tumbling to the ground.

He slammed both paws down, breathing heavily, his fur bristling with frustration.

His sharp teeth ground together as he stared at the screen showing Alex standing triumphant, surrounded by the bodies of countless beasts.

The Oracle had seen Alex enter the Nightmare World—a brutal process designed to challenge players against a Beast Lord.

Survival was supposed to be next to impossible.

And yet...

"If I remember correctly," he muttered, gripping his snout, "I set the rewards to include Nightmare Points... and those damn Upgrade Stones."

He paused, shaking his head.

"Upgrade Stones... which are exactly what the anomaly needs to become even more of an anomaly."

His claws dug into the console, scratching deep grooves into its surface.

He’d left the rewards as they were, confident no one would ever survive the Nightmare Realm to claim them.

After all, the odds were stacked against anyone who dared try.

But Alex wasn’t just anyone.

The Oracle’s eyes narrowed, his tail lashing violently.

"That human... he’ll survive."

If Alex made it out alive, he wouldn’t just escape with his life.

He would have an absurd amount of attribute points, enough to completely upset the system.

"I messed up," the Oracle growled, slamming his fist into the console again.

He shouldn’t have given Alex the Attribute Converter as a reward for defeating the Cockatrice King.

But what choice did he have,

The alternatives were even more broken and he had to reward Alex no matter what.

He’d chosen the Converter, thinking it would slow him down as he would have to sacrifice his attribute points.

But how foolish he had been.

Now, Alex had a tool that let him channel his points into skills, scaling them to insane levels.

It was a weapon of progression, and in Alex’s hands, it would topple the entire tutorial phase.

The Oracle gripped his fur, yanking at the loose patches already falling out.

"He’s ruining everything!"

His once-pristine coat was ragged and thin, a testament to the stress this mere human had caused.

He took a deep breath, forcing himself to think clearly.

"There are still other Beast Lords in the Nightmare Realms," he muttered, pacing again. "Powerful ones... strong enough to take Alex down."

He stopped, his glowing eyes flickering with a mix of hope and fear.

"Alex’s personality ensures one thing—he’ll challenge them. He can’t resist a fight."

For a moment, relief washed over him. If Alex fell to these challenges, the problem would solve itself.

But then his claws flexed, digging into his panel.

"And if he doesn’t fall...?"

The thought sent a chill down his spine. If Alex survived, he would become a force beyond his control.

He’d grow stronger, faster, more skilled—an unstoppable juggernaut.

"A monster," the Oracle whispered, his voice trembling. "A being I cannot allow to exist."

His resolve hardened.

"No. That cannot happen. I need to stop this at all costs."

He turned back to his glowing console, his claws dancing across the keys.

A new screen appeared, displaying a list of names and glowing figures—his pawns.

"It’s time to make my move," the Oracle said, his voice cold.

He opened his stat window and began issuing commands.

"Alex... you won’t live long enough to become my nightmare."
