Chapter 132: Against an S2

There were about 5 men who had followed Zhang Xiao Qiang in, of which 4 were Brother Long’s men. They saw that He Wen Bin had woken up, and rushed over to explain to him how he got here, and how terrifying the zombies outside were. He didn’t seem to mind that he had lost his right arm, instead, he stood up to look towards Zhang Xiao Qiang. To him, Zhang Xiao Qiang had saved his life before, even if he gave it up to repay the favor, it was nothing to him.

The moment Zhang Xiao Qiang stepped out of the alleyway, he could see dismembered body parts and patches of blood everywhere. A few men were trembling in fear as they watched the S2 devour a person. Chen Yi and the D2 had disappeared, while Brother Long was lying on the ground, his fate uncertain. There were not many live survivors around, and they could hear gunshots and the enraged roars of the D2 from inside the granary. It must be Chen Yi still engaging the D2.

“What’s there to see!! Why aren’t you running?!” Zhang Xiao Qiang rushed over to the trembling men.

The few men looked at Zhang Xiao Qiang with eyes of hope. He pointed towards the entrance that the D2 had created when it came in, and they seem to stir from their terror, and quickly ran towards it. Zhang Xiao Qiang was also prepared to head out to meet with Yuan Yi, grab the .81 rifle to deal with the S2, then save He Wen Bin out of there. As for Chen Yi, he could just stay in the granary with the D2.

Zhang Xiao Qiang grabbed his M1911A1 handgun, pointing at the S2, and fired 7 times consecutively, hitting its back. It roared out in pain, turning around and throwing its meal down before pouncing towards Zhang Xiao Qiang. As it was about to reach Zhang Xiao Qiang, Yang Ke’er swept out with the Beast Horn Spear, striking it and causing it to tumble across the ground.

Zhang Xiao Qiang had not turned yet, and he saw Yuan Yi appearing behind the S2, her eyes bloodshot. Before she raised her blade, the S2 had charged at her. She only had time to raise the shield in front of her, and immediately, “Peng!” The sound of the claws of the S2 rang out. The claws rebounded before the other claw slashed forward. The shield was sturdy enough to fend off the blows, but the speed was too fast. Before the claw was retracted, the other claw had swung forwards again, slashing out a few deep gashes on the shield.

Yuan Yi could feel her hold of the shield becoming unsteady with the constant blows of the S2. Fortunately, the shield was also clasped to her shoulder. She could not help but retreat each time it struck, and the force of the blows traveled to her shoulders, causing it to hurt and slowly become numb.

Seeing Yuan Yi in danger, Zhang Xiao Qiang raised his gun again and fired at the S2. He finally got its attention. When it was sent flying again once more by Yang Ke’er, he quickly stepped forwards and sliced down. Who knew the S2 was too nimble, and it managed to slither around while Zhang Xiao Qiang’s blade was still in mid-swing. It then swung out at his legs, and he had no choice but to change the trajectory of his blade, forcefully blocking its claws.

Zhang Xiao Qiang then retreated swiftly, dodging the follow-up attack. “Ha!” Yang Ke’er charged over with a shout, thrusting the spear towards the S2’s head. It detected the wind and quickly rolled around to dodge the blow. The strong force behind Yang Ke’er’s thrust struck the ground, causing a deep gash.

Before she could withdraw the spear, the S2 slashed out at the spear body, leaving 5 deep claw marks. Zhang Xiao Qiang routed around Yang Ke’er who was standing in front of him but saw that the S2 had already straightened itself, and did not wait for him to raise his blade, before it ran to one side, leaving him with no chance to strike.

Although the S2 had dodged out of that encirclement, it didn’t run far away. It continued in its face off against them, where Yuan Yi had already run forwards to join them. With the 3 of them in the center, the S2 continued to circle around them. Zhang Xiao Qiang could not afford to be careless, and he pulled out his handgun to reload. He then fired at the S2. However, it was too fast. The bullets flew past it and resulted in small holes in the ground. As for Yang Ke’er and Yuan Yi, both of them held their own handguns and seemed to fire at will. Their accuracy was bad as well and just fired at the general location of the S2.

For some reason, there was a miracle, and the S2 had been hit by a few of the bullets in the resulting chaos. It roared out in pain, before charging for the 3 of them. Its aim was Zhang Xiao Qiang who stood in the center. Right as it was about to near, Yang Ke’er brought the spear through a semicircle in the air towards it. This time, the S2 had become smarter, and it dodged slightly to the side, and the spear swung past its head.

The S2 evaded the Beast Horn Spear and pounced towards Zhang Xiao Qiang, who had raised his Jing Wei Sword in preparation to slash at it. A shadow appeared in front of him, raising the shield to knock into the S2. Yuan Yi was sent sprawling by the impact, while the S2 was knocked onto the ground by the shield. Seizing the opportunity, Zhang Xiao Qiang immediately swung down and pierced the chest of the S2.

The S2 did not stay down even with the Jing Wei Sword in its chest. It slammed its elbows into the ground forcefully, its legs trying to propel it backward. The blade tore through its chest all the way to its abdomen, and it screeched out in agony as something major must have been damaged by it.

Although the Jing Wei Sword had ripped its entire chest apart, it managed to pull itself free with the sword. The sword had been stabbed through it, that was stuck in the ground, finally came free. At this time, Yang Ke’er had raised the Beast Horn Spear and brought it down towards the body. Yang Ke’er had also grown smarter and knew the head was an easy target to miss. Hence, she decided to go for the largest surface area. As the S2 struggled to get up, its claws reaching to grab the sword from its chest, Yang Ke’er strike reached it, and the spear slammed into the chest of the S2, sending it flying.

What kind of strength did Yang Ke’er possess? What sort of unearthly power did she have? The small frame of the S2 was seen soaring over 10m in the sky, and tumbled onto the ground, rolling a few times before coming to a stop. It stopped moving. Yang Ke’er stood the spear and started to celebrate, but Zhang Xiao Qiang immediately grabbed the shield from Yuan Yi and ran towards the S2. The previous experience had taught him that the S2 must be beheaded. He did not want to be caught off-guard again.

When he was about 7 or 8 meters away, the S2 still did not move. However, Zhang Xiao Qiang stopped where was, and picked up a still hot part of the debris from the earlier explosion, and flung it at the S2. The metal part was heavy and when it soared through the air, landing on the S2. When it touched the S2, the S2 suddenly flipped and grabbed the part, tearing into it with its jaws. The metal part was hard though, how could the teeth of the S2 be a match for it. It screamed in agony, as it teeth fell out, and before it could continue screeching, a flash of a blade appeared. Its head was removed as it bounced onto the ground. The headless body slumped to the floor, twitching slightly.

“Hu…” Seeing the dead body of the S2, Zhang Xiao Qiang heaved a sigh of relief. He had finally taken care of this S2. There were no tricks, no plans. It had been a confrontation, and although Yang Ke’er and Yuan Yi had provided help, he could not help but feel proud. Previously, he had killed one, but it was disabled, having lost its sense of smell. This time, it was different, this was an S2 at its peak, without a single handicap in its abilities. It could be considered a sense of achievement.

He pulled out the Jing Wei Sword from the corpse and looked around. The entire carpark looked like a battlefield, with burning vehicles, broken glass, and debris of vehicles. There were dismembered bodies lying around, blood everywhere. The once-peaceful and gray carpark had been turned into a scene from hell with all sorts of pain and death painted, the brightest of which was the blood.

Zhang Xiao Qiang led Yang Ke’er and Yuan Yi to go receive He Wen Bin and the rest out, towards the gate. When he got the survivors up in the car, he prepared to board to leave this hellish-place, when he noticed Yang Ke’er entering the granary.
