Chapter 384: Chapter 367: Chimeric Monster (Part 2)

"Have they been taking drugs or something?! How the hell are they so damn strong now!"

Lin Yi was shocked when he saw the chimeras running at a speed of over thirty kilometers per hour.

Moreover, these chimeras were eight meters tall and wore magically enhanced armor!

One chimera slammed into a shield that had activated its barrier, roaring angrily and pounding the shield like a lunatic until a plasma shotgun blew its head off.

After fending off the pursuers, Lin Yi’s squad regrouped with other soldiers.

The chimeras eventually rampaged for about an hour.

When it was over, the tunnels were filled with bodies, but hardly any humans were injured.

Their shields continuously charged with energy cores, enabling them to successfully repel the attacks.

Then everything suddenly went quiet...

"Stay ready! It’s not over yet!" Lin Yi ordered, frowning.

The scouts immediately began searching the area, and then it happened.

A huge hole opened in the floor of a massive underground room, and a gigantic, terrifying creature crawled out.

Lin Yi and his troops were right in this room at the time, and it was no coincidence...

A muscular white arm reached out from the hole, followed by another, and then a face, a gigantic face.

The face looked half-frog, half-human.

Its round head was about fifteen meters in diameter.

"Found you! Heh heh heh!"

"Take it down!"

Bullets, beams, plasma, and magic flew towards that horrifying face.

"Bah! Vile insects!" the monster roared, covering its enormous face.

Its arms, neck, and face were immediately covered in horrible wounds.

However, these wounds quickly healed—the creature had a remarkable regeneration ability.

The soldiers surrounded the monster, attacking it continuously, as reinforcements swiftly made their way through the tunnel.

Just in case, Lin Yi called for a significant number of elite reinforcements, hoping they might lure the creature outside...

"Disgusting insects!" the creature roared, then retreated into the hole.

A second later, it leapt out of the hole.

Accompanied by a deafening roar, the monster stood majestically before the soldiers.

It had six arms, a slender body, a snake-like tail, and eight pairs of insect-like wings, but that wasn’t its most terrifying feature.

There were hundreds of human faces on its chest, all howling, screaming, and begging for death.

"Witness your doom! I am the perfect being... I will kill all of you, you wretches!"

Contrary to the monster’s expectations, humans had no interest in its words.

The soldiers just kept attacking it.

A brave soldier shot directly into its open mouth, and another even managed to toss a grenade into it.

The monster was surrounded by soldiers wearing power armor and equipped with full-power third-level shields.

These shields were lifesavers; without them, they wouldn’t have been able to hold their ground.

The monster swept them with its tail, but to its surprise, the humans withstood its attack.

No one died, and not a single person was knocked away.

A few people fell, but then got back up to join the ranks again.

The "Slaughterer-3C" power armor was much stronger and heavier than previous models.

"Your attacks are like mosquito bites to me!" the creature roared.

It was under attack from hundreds of people, but the wounds healed instantly, so it held only contempt for these pitiful mortals and their futile attempts to harm it.

The human magical attacks hurt the most, but even they couldn’t inflict permanent damage.

"Now taste my power!" The faces on the creature’s chest seemed to shift along its flesh.

Moving to its limbs, tail, forehead, and other places closer to the frail humans.

"Activate the siege barriers!" Lin Yi shouted, and several golden energy domes suddenly appeared.

A few seconds later, once all the faces of the enemy were in position, they began spewing out magic from their mouths.

There were attacks of flame, lightning, water, stone projectiles, and even fierce wind.

"Shoot those faces!" Lin Yi ordered.

The soldiers took cover behind sixty siege barriers and continued attacking, destroying the faces contorted in pain and effort.

But those faces quickly regenerated, unable to attack until fully restored.

The magical attacks quickly ended, and the monster was once again consumed by rage.

"Die!" it roared, ramming one of the barriers.

The barrier held, but not for long...

Six fists and countless magic spells struck the energy dome again and again until it shattered, sending the device into a long recharge cycle.

Its next target was the soldiers, especially those not wearing power armor.

Despite being under constant attack, it used its powerful arms to throw soldiers around like ragdolls.

"Energy cannons!" Lin Yi barked, "Li, stop this monster!"

"Yes, boss!" A soldier in power armor ran forward and held out his hand.

An extremely powerful force pinned the monster to the ground.

"Argh! Your efforts are futile! I’ll kill you all!"

"Can’t hold on much longer... can’t..." the telekinesis user said with difficulty, his magic value depleting too fast.

And he was using a third-level energy core and a magic storage device!

But Lin Yi didn’t need much time.

All he had to do was charge the energy cannon and blast the monster to smithereens.

A furious scream echoed through the room, a shower of blood and flesh—the monster lost half its body.

However... as if by magic, it began regenerating again...

But then another barrage of attacks hit it.

All the energy cannons had overheated, needing to be sent back to storage, yet the creature still didn’t die.

A large chunk of flesh jumped into the pit, as if foreshadowing death that awaited them all.

"Mages!" Lin Yi shouted, and everything felt like when they faced the serpents back at the base.

The mages cast a spell forming a massive fireball, unleashing a torrent of flame into the pit.

For a moment, everything quieted down, with the wounded evacuated to the shelter.

"Your efforts are futile!" the monster taunted them again from the pit, then crawled back out.

It was now white, and its body size was more than double what it had been!

But the creature did not see the fear and despair it hoped for, greeted instead by more magical attacks, bullets, and other assaults...
