Apocalypse: I Built the Infinite Train-Chapter 199: Firepower
The Infinite Train sat silently at the station, its black, heavy armor absorbing the faint glow of the dim track lights. Outside, a convoy of dozens of people had already slipped into the cover of a hidden forest, their countless eyes locked onto the imposing train.
Several agile gunmen had already scouted the station’s perimeter, taking cover behind buildings. At this moment, Infinite Train was completely surrounded.
“Brother Rong, this train is wrapped in armor so tightly that we can’t even find a vent. How the hell are we supposed to get the bone worms inside?”
A skinny man at the front whispered into his walkie-talkie, his tone filled with frustration.
“There’s no way it’s completely sealed. Otherwise, the people inside would’ve suffocated already. Find the cracks—those bone worms can sniff out human scent and crawl their way in.”
Inside the forest, Luo Rong stepped off the vehicle, raising his binoculars to carefully observe the train.
“Brother Rong, Guo Sheng and Team Three are already stationed at the outer tracks. Are we really not going to support Brother Ding?” Another voice, this one belonging to a stocky man, came through the comms.
“No need.”
Luo Rong’s expression turned cold, but he grinned. “Brother Ding likes playing the good guy. As for this kind of job that leaves no survivors, I’ll handle it for him.”
His gaze sharpened as he fixed his eyes on the train.
At the start, the King Kong Convoy had fought its way eastward under Ding Qing’s leadership, showing remarkable courage and tenacity. They had battled through countless nights, growing stronger as a team, enduring hardships, and resisting the darkness together.
But after so long on the run, fatigue and numbness crept into their minds. Even Ding Qing himself had started to doubt whether their group could survive another day.
That was when they arrived at Rain Town.
At first, the Impostors lurking in the town had caused some casualties, but after a period of rest, the group realized something unusual—there were no endless waves of zombies, no eerie entities flooding the streets at night. As long as they hid in a shelter and learned to detect impostors, they could enjoy a rare sense of safety and respite.
However, it wasn’t long before eerie entities began appearing in town again. Just when they thought Rain Town was no longer safe, some long-time survivors revealed a chilling secret:
By throwing corpses into the deep pool at the chemical plant, offering them as nourishment for the Lantern Flower, the eerie entities would disappear.
Upon discovering this “rule,” the convoy members saw it as a blessing. But when fresh corpses ran out, they started waiting for new survivors to die in town. Then, they would scavenge their supplies and dump their bodies into the chemical plant, creating a gruesome balance of survival.
The King Kong Convoy and the town’s original survivors lived off these supplies and this newfound safety, taking on the responsibility of “feeding” the Lantern Flower.
But over time, as resources dwindled, their mindset changed.
Luo Rong, along with others, began luring unsuspecting survivors into Rain Town.
At first, he convinced Ding Qing and Duan Min that they were simply helping lost survivors find refuge from the horrors of the night. Whether they chose to leave in the morning or explore the town for supplies was their decision. If they died, well… that wasn’t their fault.
Deep down, everyone knew this was just an excuse to ease their guilt. But as fear of the night took hold and reliance on Rain Town’s “shelter” grew, even Ding Qing seemed to accept it.
Until Luo Rong started directly attacking survivors who entered town.
That was when they realized—they had already become executioners of the night.
And now, this ambush on the Infinite Train was orchestrated by Luo Rong and his men—ruthless killers who had long since abandoned morality. To them, survival in Rain Town was worth any cost.
"Everyone, get ready."
Luo Rong raised his walkie-talkie.
“When Team Three blows up the tracks, open fire. Let’s see how they react. If they panic and try to escape, we’ll wait until they derail—then we move in. Team Two, guard the station gates and prevent their teammates from counterattacking.”
“Roger that, Brother Rong.”
The shadows in the forest stirred.
A trap was quietly set in place.
The King Kong Convoy’s vehicles were armed with heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, and other firepower. Their team had fought and evolved through countless battles, and their individual combat abilities were nothing to scoff at.
Inside the Infinite Train
In Car No. 10, Luo Sha stood by the window, gripping the Roarer K23 Electric Gatling Gun, his eyes scanning the surroundings with caution.
In Car No. 2, Luo Shasha stared at the surveillance screens, her brows furrowing as she noticed movement in the trees.
“Brother Lin was right. These people really are here to attack our train.”
“But what are they up to…?”

The Sentinel System, combined with the Radar System, could detect infrared and heat signatures. Luo Rong’s squads, despite their attempts to move stealthily, appeared completely exposed on Shasha’s screen. She activated the targeting function, setting the system to track their movements in advance.
“Shasha.”
A voice came through the communicator—it was Chen Sixuan.
“Someone’s moving in from behind the train.”
Shasha nodded and signaled to Luo Hua, who immediately headed toward Car No. 11.
“I see some of them heading to the front tracks. Looks like they’re planning to blow up the rail.”
Chen Sixuan slowly adjusted her aim, her finger resting on the trigger.
“Chen-jie!”
Shasha hurriedly warned, “Don’t fire yet! If they spot you, we’ll be in trouble.”
Chen Sixuan hesitated, then exhaled and let go of the trigger.
“Fine… I almost acted on impulse.”
She thought for a moment before saying, “Let’s let them blow it up. They probably think we’ll be trapped without a way to escape—that’s when they’ll make their move.”
“Exactly.” Shasha smirked. “They’ll also be watching for Sister Shu Qin to return. Let’s keep them occupied and catch them off guard.”
Chen Sixuan hummed in agreement.
For someone so young, Shasha was remarkably composed. Even when surrounded by enemies, she was thinking about baiting them into a trap.
Seeing her teammates remain calm, Chen Sixuan took a deep breath and focused her scope on the convoy’s heavy weapons.
BOOM! BOOM!
Suddenly, two deafening explosions erupted from the east and west ends of the station.
Thick black smoke billowed into the sky, shaking even the glass windows of the platform.
“Brother Rui, it’s done!”
Hiding behind cover, Luo Rui and his men watched closely for any reaction from the train.
Hearing the explosion, everyone raised their weapons, awaiting Luo Rong’s order to fire.
Luo Rui narrowed his eyes, gripping his walkie-talkie.
Minutes passed.
The train remained motionless.
Luo Rui turned his binoculars toward the town—no vehicles were coming out.
“What’s going on? Aren’t they calling for backup?” The stocky man asked.
“They’re hesitating.” Luo Rui sneered. “The tracks are gone—they’ve got nowhere to run.”
He lifted his walkie-talkie.
“Team Two, get into position inside the station. If their teammates return, kill them all.”
“Understood.”
His men swiftly moved behind the station’s buildings.
Meanwhile, Luo Rui climbed into his vehicle and grabbed a radio transceiver.
He shot a glance at one of his subordinates.
The man immediately understood.
Without hesitation, he opened fire on the train.
RATATATAT!
Gunfire erupted, breaking the silence and igniting the battle.
Luo Rui pressed the transceiver button, his voice echoing through the train’s external speakers.
“Listen up, people on the train! We’ve blown up the tracks. Your friends aren’t coming back.
I’m giving you one minute to open the doors and surrender—or we’ll show you what real firepower looks like.
The train stays, but you?
You don’t.”
