Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies-Chapter 96 - : Tempt me
Chapter 96: Tempt me
After several days, the System came to fetch her.
The System was somehow green after doing whatever it did on the space station.
Did it go dye its color or something?
When Su Yinhe saw it, she hardly dared recognize it.
Who dyed it fluorescent green?
It almost blinded her damn eyes.
...
After sending her back, the System flew away. Rumor had it that it had snagged a high-quality host and was set to reestablish the System’s dignity by tormenting the host.
Su Yinhe: “…”
With such a tiny thing, it’s hard to say who would be tormenting whom.
All she could say was, good luck to it.
Su Yinhe had been away for a few days, but to everyone else, it was as if she’d never left.
No one noticed anything odd about Su Yinhe.
Only Chi Yan, who seemed to sense something, stared at her thoughtfully for a long time.
But he didn’t ask anything.
Since he didn’t ask, Su Yinhe acted as if he hadn’t noticed anything.
Su Yinhe invited the three of them to eat Snail Noodles.
This was her favorite place, and she had even asked the auntie to add lots of extra pickled bamboo shoots.
If they didn’t like it, it would be their loss.
Luckily, all three expressed their liking for it.
To be exact, Qin Mingzhou really liked it, Lin Murong liked everything, and Chi Yan…
Considering Su Yinhe offered it, he didn’t refuse.
Round that up, and it’s basically the same as liking it.
The four started slurping their noodles.
Qin Mingzhou, Lin Murong, and Su Yinhe ate with gusto.
Chi Yan, on the other hand, meticulously used a spoon, transferring noodles into it with his chopsticks before eating.
Su Yinhe didn’t quite understand, but she respected it.
Lin Murong made a quip, but quickly shut up as soon as Chi Yan looked his way.
Only Qin Mingzhou boldly grabbed the mic.
Then the two engaged in an under-the-table kicking contest while eating.
To avoid getting caught in the crossfire, Su Yinhe and Lin Murong skillfully tucked their legs up onto their chairs and focused on slurping their noodles.
Lin Murong ate the fastest and, upon finishing, stared at Su Yinhe as she ate.
Unable to bear his gaze, Su Yinhe fetched him a bowl of spicy and sour noodles.
Lin Murong verbally declined, but his body was all grown up—he picked up his chopsticks and started slurping again.
After polishing off a bowl of Snail Noodles and a bowl of spicy and sour noodles, Lin Murong looked at Su Yinhe with deep emotion.
“Galaxy, do you need a son?”
Su Yinhe: “!!!”
What the hell.
First wanting to warm her bed, now someone wanting to be her son.
Terrifying.
“It’s really not necessary,” she insisted. Just two bowls of noodles, after all.
She genuinely didn’t need a son.
“Galaxy, think about it. I’ve got a six-pack and I’m still a… virgin,” Lin Murong said, blushing as he looked at her.
Su Yinhe was truly startled.
“You, you, you… stay back, I really don’t need a son.” Su Yinhe slurped up her last mouthful hastily and ran off with her bowl.
“Hey! Galaxy, give it some thought. I have six-pack abs!”
Lin Murong didn’t want to be so shameless, but there were so many tasty dishes at Su Yinhe’s place, his principles started to slip away.
A sad but joyful truth, indeed.
Coming back to his senses, Lin Murong realized that Brother Chi and Qin Mingzhou had stopped their scuffle and were glaring at him with unsavory expressions.
“Son?”
“Six-pack?”
“Heh.”
…
“Damn it! Help! I was wrong!” Lin Murong tried to run, but he was trapped.
Two against one, he stood no chance of escape.
All he could do was tearfully take the beating.
Wailing… If he had known he’d get beaten up, he would’ve eaten another bowl.
Lin Murong covered his face, feeling devastated.
…
Having packed so much food, Su Yinhe’s kitchen saw no action for the following days.
She ate takeout every day.
But after a while, she started to miss her own cooking. So, she started cooking again.
Now it was like this: one day her own cooking, one day takeout, one day her own cooking, one day takeout…
Hmm.
Her own cooking was definitely better.
The other three also unanimously agreed that her cooking was better than those takeouts.
They weren’t eating for free, though; they had to pay with Crystal Cores.
Their superpowers were strong, so they had plenty of high-level crystal cores.
The money they got from trading crystal cores was way more than what they spent on takeouts.
Maybe tenfold more.
Both parties were satisfied.
It was only the system that was exhausted.

The temperature outside was very high, and the three of them had to go out every day to acclimate to the heat. Then they’d stay in the supermarket for a bit, but not too long.
The temperature inside the supermarket was too comfortable. Stay too long, and going back outside could prove fatal.
They had no choice but to go out; they had to adapt to this world.
Fail to adapt, and you’d be eliminated.
They often went out to fight zombies and hunt mutant animals.
The meat of these mutant animals was so unpalatable, it used to be barely tolerable, but after tasting Su Yinhe’s cooking, they became even pickier about it.
Usually, they’d just trade the meat of mutant animals to others.
In exchange for crystal cores to spend at Su Yinhe’s place.
However, after hearing about the mutant animals, Su Yinhe got quite interested.
She had them bring back some of the meat.
She tried cooking it.
It was indeed tough to cook and had a strange smell.
But she had a plethora of spices being a supermarket owner.
She tried stewing, grilling, pouring her heart into seasoning.
In the end, the result wasn’t bad—at the very least with that many seasonings, even a shoe sole would taste good.
However, after trying different methods, making jerky turned out to be the best.
Tough to chew and a great way to kill time. After finishing one piece, one feels a great sense of achievement.
After tasting the jerky, Chi Yan and the others declared they would give all the meat they got to Su Yinhe.
Su Yinhe couldn’t just take it for nothing.
So they made a deal: they’d supply the meat, do the processing, and she’d provide the spices.
The final jerky was split in half, with Su Yinhe taking one part, and the three of them secretly splitting the other half amongst themselves.
Jerky made from mutant animal meat had a unique flavor.
Su Yinhe planned to make more so she could share some with her friends when she got back, including a colleague who had swapped gossip with her.
She remembered her colleague really liked jerky.
As for the jerky Chi Yan and the others divided among themselves, Chi Yan and Lin Murong’s portions were easy to store, so they just tossed it into Chi Yan’s storage space.
Qin Mingzhou was less fortunate, as he had no such space. Reluctantly, he bought a bunch of sealable bags and cling film from the supermarket.
Then he enlisted his underlings and began the miserable task of packaging the jerky.
It was then that Chi Yan stood in front of him, flipping things in and out of his storage space.
Mainly just showing off.
Qin Mingzhou, earnestly packing jerky: “…”
Lunatic.
Qin Mingzhou enlisted underlings to pack the jerky, but as they were seduced by the fragrant jerky, they couldn’t resist sneaking some.
Packing and snacking went hand in hand.
When Qin Mingzhou discovered this, a portion of his jerky had already vanished.
Qin Mingzhou: “!!!”
He was sharply reminded of the inconvenience of having no storage space.
Qin Mingzhou furiously beat up his underling.
While moaning, the underling tried to make excuses.
“Brother Qin, you can’t blame me, it’s the jerky’s fault—it smelled so tempting, seducing me.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. The jerky smelled so good, how could we resist?”
Usually, they ate tasteless white rice, which Qin Mingzhou provided. Compared to others, they were eating quite well already.
But people are always greedy.
After having enough white rice, they fell in love with the jerky.
