Chapter 30: 030 Holding the Gang Leader Hostage to Uphold Justice_1
No one paid attention to Feng Shiyi’s escape; with the Gang Leader under attack, the Iron Palm Gang was in complete disarray, swarming around.
“Stop!”
“Stop!”
“Quick, save the Gang Leader.”
…
In a moment’s time, Duge found himself surrounded by the Iron Palm Gang. He no longer stabbed Qiu Yuanlang in the lower back but pressed the small flying dagger against the back of his neck. With a slight force, the blade pricked the skin, “Gang Master Qiu, tell them to stop.”
“Nobody move.”
Qiu Yuanlang ordered, gasping for air.
Excluding the first two stabs, the others weren’t deep; but the sheer number of times Duge stabbed was overwhelming! No matter how strong his Inner Strength was, being stabbed still hurt, and losing too much blood made him dizzy. He felt as though his lower back was being turned into a sieve. Moreover, the first two stabs Duge delivered had hurt his organs. Now, he was struggling to hold on.
Additionally, he could feel the arm Duge had wrapped around his neck growing stronger. If the struggle continued, he would suffocate to death even if the little dagger didn’t kill him.
Qiu Yuanlang hadn’t really believed Feng Qi was a Heavenly Demon who’d possessed someone, but now, he did.
He knew the strength of his own palm force and was aware that Feng Qi’s arm had been broken by him in several places. While healing tendons and bones ought to take a hundred days, in just a brief moment, Feng Qi’s arm had healed as if nothing had happened, stronger than before. No human could possibly have such regenerative abilities. He was a Heavenly Demon.
If the two of them continued to tangle, he was sure to be the first to die.
“Release the Gang Leader, or I’ll make sure you have no grave to be buried in,” one Hall Master, holding a longsword, glared at Duge, his voice harsh and threatening.
Another Hall Master had captured Wang San, a longsword at his neck, threatening, “Let go of the Gang Leader, or else, I’ll kill your companion first.”
Wang San still held the severed hand he had picked up, obsessively caressing it as if oblivious to his current predicament. He occasionally lifted his gaze to Feng Qi with a resentful look but remained silent.
The blade was already at his neck, and he didn’t dare speak out. If his captor, panicked, slit his throat, to whom would he complain?
“Using him to threaten me is useless. For the sake of the Martial Worlds’ morality, anyone can be sacrificed. Feng Qi can, and so can Wang San,” Duge’s eyes flashed with madness. “If I die, countless others will stand up to continue the fight against you.”
“You think I won’t dare kill him if you talk like that? Release the Gang Leader,” the Hall Master pressed the longsword downward, and a blood line appeared on Wang San’s neck, which then slowly healed as he continued to caress the severed hand.
Despite this, Wang San still shivered subconsciously.
“You release the Gang Leader, and I’ll let him go,” the Hall Master urged.
Classic hostage situations in movies, the villain threatening the good guy? He wasn’t going to fall for that!
“Kill him!” Duge laughed lightly, “If you had accurate intelligence, you should know that I didn’t know him a day ago. Besides, as Heavenly Demons competing against each other, we are inherently at odds. Killing him means no loss to me.”
“…” That person.
“Did you hear that? I told you, capturing me is useless,” Wang San said somberly.
“Han Zuo, let him go,” Qiu Yuanlang gave him a look and commanded loudly.
“Gang Leader,” the Hall Master named Han Zuo hesitated for a moment but didn’t move.
“Let him go. Am I giving orders in vain even before I am dead?” Qiu Yuanlang snapped.
“Yes, Gang Leader,” Han Zuo, with a dark expression, grudgingly released Wang San.
Wang San glanced at him scornfully, clutching his collected severed hand, and nonchalantly moved to stand beside Duge.
“Mr. Seven’s methods are truly extraordinary,” Qiu Yuanlang stabilized his emotions, “You have not killed me immediately, which must mean you’re considering your own exit strategy. How about this: you let me go, and I’ll ensure your safe departure. As for tonight’s events, let bygones be bygones. What do you say? If you delay any further and I die, I fear you’ll never be able to leave the Iron Palm Gang.”
“Gang Master Qiu, Feng Qi killed you to uphold the righteousness of the Martial Worlds…” Duge insisted.
“In the Martial Worlds, there’s no lack of maggots and strays. Who dares claim purity among the five sects and three factions? Without seizing by force, how could they have obtained their current status?” Qiu Yuanlang scoffed coldly, “If you kill me, does that purify the ethos of the jianghu?”
He gasped for breath, “Mr. Seven, you have Divine Skills, and I have martial might. If the two of us joined forces and held sway over the Iron Palm Gang together, relishing in wealth and honor, wouldn’t that be splendid? Mr. Seven is a wise man. If you truly cared about the righteousness of the jianghu, you would have killed Qiu long ago. Why put on such an act and constrain me to use as a hostage…”
“Gang Master Qiu, one man alone cannot change the crooked energy of this jianghu. Therefore, I didn’t finish you off!” Duge suddenly laughed. He looked at the two Hall Masters and the eager Gang members opposite him, “Gang Master, among us mortals, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Heavenly Demons. For their selfish desires, they might wreak havoc in the jianghu at any moment. It grieves me deeply to think such chaos could unfold.
So, it’s not only the righteousness of the Martial Worlds that I wish to uphold but also to quell the impending turmoil to maintain peace. Gang Master Qiu, my intention was to have you help me, leveraging the strength of the Iron Palm Gang, to uphold the justice of the Martial Worlds. To expel the Heavenly Demon and return to the jianghu its bright and clear order…”
…
Wang San’s breathing stalled, suddenly understanding Feng Qi’s intent. This guy was really flipping the table again; he was determined to dash headlong down the path of death!
—————–
Madman!
A mouthful of blood sprayed out from Qiu Yuanlang. If you want to deal with others, then do so. Why fabricate such a grandiose reason?
To win me over, you had to inflict grave injuries first? Couldn’t we have discussed this properly?
Who does things like that?
Upholding the righteousness of the jianghu?
Pah!
“Fine, I agree to it,” Qiu Yuanlang said urgently.
“Gang Master Qiu agrees so readily. Could it be some trick?” Duge paused, then asked.
“Trick, my ass,” Qiu Yuanlang retorted angrily, “Do you not know how many times you’ve stabbed me? If I keep bargaining with you, I’m going to bloody well die. If I die, who among them can take charge?”
…
Duge paused for a moment, then chuckled dryly, “Gang Master Qiu speaks reasonably.”
“If you want to cooperate, find someone to treat my injuries quickly…” Qiu Yuanlang, having been forcefully holding himself up, felt his willpower dissipate the moment he understood Duge’s true motives, and he rapidly slumped into unconsciousness after blurting out his sentence.
Duge’s arm around his neck suddenly sank; he quickly put in more effort to hold up Qiu Yuanlang and checked his breathing, then shouted frantically, “Han Zuo, what are you standing there for? Go find someone to treat the Gang Master’s injuries. If the Gang Master dies, you’ll be the sinner of the Iron Palm Gang.”

Han Zuo choked, thinking, NMB, the Gang Master’s injuries were caused by you, and yet if he dies, it’s my responsibility?
Though he grumbled inwardly, he did not dare to dally, throwing Duge a heavy glare before leaping away to seek a physician.
The remaining Gang members still encircled Duge vigilantly, fearing he might escape.
Duge smiled faintly, propping up Qiu Yuanlang with his arm around the neck, while a thrown knife pressed against his throat. He addressed the remaining Hall Master, “Hall Master, please control your disciples. The Gang Master and I have just forged an alliance; I do not wish his demise to disrupt the great peace that the Martial Worlds are about to welcome, as that would make Feng Qi the sinner of the entire jianghu.”
…
Wang San glanced at Duge, his heart pounding wildly—damn, this guy actually pulled it off!
It’s only been two days!
Feng Qi actually managed to take a top second-rate master hostage, turning a major second-tier faction into his own power base. Is there no justice in the world?
He silently checked his profile, staring at his own rank now raised to 33, involuntarily swallowing. Just by being an accessory to the scheme, he had advanced over two hundred places. As for Feng Qi, who orchestrated the whole affair, his rank might already be number one in the simulation field!
…
Among the Iron Palm Gang’s disciples, a lowly lackey who had witnessed everything widened his eyes in disbelief at Duge and Wang San, nearly going insane.
Who are these guys?
They’re too fierce!
I’d just managed to get a firm foothold in the Iron Palm Gang, hoping to find an opportunity to climb the ladder, and now you’ve gone and seized it, making me look utterly incompetent!
