Apocalypse: Infinite Breaker Online-Chapter 46: World Event: Arrival of Mythos (1)
After twenty minutes of continuous, intense ravaging, Lexi lay in a pool of white stuff, twitching uncontrollably.
Axir exhausted his production of 720 Constitution and 1050 Agility stats. To put it into perspective, he had a daily load as big as approximately 100,000 men with these stats.
After wearing his clothes, he vanished and arrived two kilometers away a second later.
His current attire was gray formal pants, a black inner shirt, and a red suit over it. His medium-long jet-black hair shone under the sun as he looked down at the location.
Then he stomped his foot.
BOOM!
A metal gate blasted open as he fell down.
This was a military base. Five players had already entered, and the battle had just started.
The main way into the base was from underwater, while the surface here was camouflaged and had launch pads for releasing nukes.
Axir entered from one such launch pad.
He tore through the ground using the 2-star card Earthburrow Travel and arrived inside the base.
"Hmm?" Axir froze.
Not deliberately.
He was frozen by some external power.
Then he noticed it was not just him, but everything and everyone.
[Abyss Has Arrived.]
The entire Earth trembled.
For a moment, the Sun and Moon vanished. They flickered as if they were mere lights in someone’s house.
ROAR!
A roar passed through the entire Earth, then thrummed throughout the entire universe.
Earth cracked in ten places.
From those ten cracks, ten exotic abyssal gates spawned, each one different, but each with the same countdown above them.
[23:59 until it opens]
[World Event Initiated!]
[The Gods Have Descended!]
The sky over Earth, from all sides, split open with colorful radiance and auspicious gold.
The radiance did not descend as a single army.
It arrived as fleets, each bound by belief, myth, and authority older than recorded time. The sky layered itself, reality folding into tiers as every pantheon claimed its own dominion of appearance.
An old, archaic voice rang in everyone’s ears.
[Before sky. Before Earth. Before even existence understood itself. A formless presence unfolded across reality.]
[Chaos did not arrive. It simply stopped being here.]
[Henceforth, from the boundless chaos, form crystallized.]
Everyone saw the same scene, as, from a crack, a colossal female figure emerged halfway from the sky, wearing continents as her garment and nature as her jewelry. Her skin was stone, veined with glowing emerald lines like flowing rivers.
[Gaia, All-Nourishing Mother of Nature]
Another crack widened beside Gaia’s presence.
Darkness poured out, thick and vertical, like a slit carved straight through reality.
From it, a tall humanoid figure slowly descended.
His body looked carved from absolute black stone, its surface swallowing all light. No armor. No ornament. His chest was hollow, an endless vertical void running through him like an open wound.
The air bent inward toward him.
The ground below began sinking without contact.
Where his feet should have touched the world, depth simply increased.
[Tartarus, Lord of the Depth]
Above him, the sky dimmed further.
Stars vanished as if wiped away by an unseen hand.
From another crack, a slender woman stepped through barefoot.
Her skin shimmered like deep space, speckled with faint stars drifting beneath it. Her long hair flowed downward like liquid night, constantly changing shape.
She wore a simple dark robe, yet the moment she appeared, night claimed the sky, regardless of time zone.
[Nyx, the Eternal Darkness]
Beside her, space twisted.
Not torn, but pulled.
A youthful winged figure emerged midair, hovering casually. Golden light traced his bare skin, faint symbols pulsing over his heart and palms.
His eyes burned with playful intensity. His lips curved into a faint smile.
Wherever he looked, matter leaned closer.
Wherever he hovered, distance shortened.
[Eros, the Harmony of the World]
After these Greek Primordials arrived, the northern sky ruptured violently.
Ice and fire burst outward as a massive humanoid giant forced his way through the gate and roared.
[Between heat and frost, the sky tore open.]
[A bottomless chasm formed.]
[Ginnungagap expanded outward, swallowing clouds, light, and sound.]
[From within it, a colossal silhouette emerged. With a single exhale, glaciers formed midair while flames evaporated oceans elsewhere.]
[Slaying him, the All-Father formed the world from his flesh.]
The sky did not close.
It widened.
Runes burned across the crack like scars that refused to heal.
Cold and thunder rolled together.
From the center of the opening, a middle-aged man stepped forward, piercing his spear into the giant and tearing it apart.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, wrapped in a dark cloak that rippled like storm clouds. His long white hair flowed freely, untouched by gravity.
One eye burned with sharp, piercing clarity. The other was sealed beneath a carved metal eyepatch with ancient runes etched deep into its surface.
The moment he appeared, every storm system on Earth shifted direction toward him.
Crows circled above his head, their eyes glowing faintly blue.
The air itself seemed to listen.
[Odin, the All-Father of Nine Realms]
Soon after, thunder followed.
Not sound.
Impact.
The crack exploded outward as a massive red-haired man burst through, landing midair as if standing on invisible ground.
His beard burned like embers, his long hair flowing wild. His body was built like living siege weaponry, muscles carved and scarred.
In his right hand, a short-handled hammer crackled with contained lightning.
Every bolt of lightning on Earth hesitated.
Then bent toward him.
Clouds compressed into a dense ceiling above his head, roaring in approval.
He grinned.
Wild.
Predatory.
[Thor, Champion of Asgard]
The storm calmed.
Warmth spread.
From the same large crack, light softened into gold.
A tall, breathtaking woman stepped out, long golden hair cascading over armor that shimmered like woven sunlight. Her eyes glowed softly, neither cruel nor gentle, but commanding.
Flowers bloomed in the air beneath her feet before fading into sparks. War and love clung to her presence in equal measure.
Looking at her caused courage to surge and desire to coil tight in one’s chest.
She carried no visible weapon.
She did not need one.
[Freya, the Golden Lady of Vanir]
After these four representatives of the Norse mythos appeared, the scenery before all human eyes shifted.
The sky unfolded like painted silk, and the archaic voice echoed again, introducing another pantheon.
[A single, deafening crack echoed through reality.]
[Darkness and light separated.]
[Standing between them was Pangu. With each slow breath, the sky rose higher and the Earth pressed lower. His body defined creation.]
[Thus, chaos and order found equilibrium.]
From the first crack, an old man with a long white beard and an imperceptible symbol on his forehead appeared, wearing robes that flowed like starry space.
His beard glowed faintly, his eyes deep and unfathomable, as if staring directly at the moment creation began.
Behind him, reality looked unfinished, raw, as if still awaiting definition.
[Yuanshi Tianzun, Jade Pure of Origin]
To his left, symbols ignited across the sky.
A second regal humanoid figure stepped forward, draped in robes of blue and gold, countless glowing talismans orbiting his body like slow-moving constellations.
Scrolls of light unfurled behind him, each inscribed with laws, names, and destinies. Time itself seemed cataloged in his presence.
He did not look at Earth.
He evaluated it.
[Lingbao Tianzun, Jade Pure of Chaos and Order]
Between them, the air softened.
From a calm ripple in space emerged an old man riding a celestial ox, robes simple, expression peaceful.
He appeared almost ordinary.
Almost.
Yet the moment he arrived, pressure vanished, tension eased, and even the gods already present felt their authority quietly overridden.
His eyes held no judgment.
Only inevitability.
The Tao flowed invisibly around him, obeying without command.
[Daode Tianzun, Jade Pure of Desire and Wisdom]
The sky beneath the Three Pure Ones lowered itself.
Clouds compressed into layered terraces of white and gold, forming a vast celestial court suspended above the world.
At its center, space parted cleanly.
From the opening stepped a solemn, middle-aged man clad in imperial robes of jade, white, and gold. A square celestial crown rested upon his head, engraved with Heaven’s mandate.
His expression was calm.
Unyielding.
Every god already present felt an invisible pressure settle upon their shoulders.
Not force.
Law.
Wind stilled.
Clouds froze.
The celestial terraces aligned perfectly behind him, forming an endless palace of light.
[Jade Emperor, Supreme Ruler of Heaven]
At his right side, the sky split vertically.
From the crack descended a tall warrior god clad in silver and blue armor etched with divine runes. A vertical third eye sat closed upon his forehead.
A spear rested casually in his grip.
The moment his feet touched the air, the third eye opened.
Golden light pierced downward, scanning the world below.
Mountains trembled.
Illusions evaporated.
[Erlang Shen, the Heavenly General]
To the Jade Emperor’s left, the clouds darkened into twilight.
A regal woman stepped forward, robes flowing like sunset clouds, her presence ancient and aloof. Her hair was adorned with jade pins shaped like peaches and phoenix feathers.
Behind her, a phantom orchard shimmered briefly, branches heavy with glowing fruit.
Immortality itself pulsed in the air.
[Queen Mother of the West, Keeper of Eternal Life]
Then came laughter.
And light too fast to follow.
From a narrow crack that should not have existed, a slender, golden-furred figure burst out, landing upside down in midair before flipping upright effortlessly.
He wore simple armor and a flowing red scarf. A long staff rested across his shoulders.
His eyes burned bright with rebellion.
Arrogance.
Joy.
He looked at Heaven.
Then on Earth.
Then grinned brightly as his teeth spread radiance across the world.
[Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven]
