Chapter 245: Family Meal

Jiang Siwan pulled away after telling me I would regret my actions, her calm, droopy eyes and faint smile returned as she sighed. The atmosphere transformed immediately with the simple change.

"Let’s go, dinner might not be extravagant, but it’ll be important for you."

"How so?"

I followed her with long strides.

Her hips swayed with a rhythmic bounce, and I couldn’t stop myself from enjoying the sight.

"Well, building a connection with my father would help you in the future, not to mention Lan’er will also be at the dinner. You’ve not spoken to her all day, I am sure she’s worried about what you might’ve been up to."

"I see..."

The reasons she gave were quite valid, but in reality, I didn’t care much for building a connection with the old man. I came here all because of Roulan’s quest and the fact that it would be safer to return to the base.

Although Wang Yin mentioned a few fights, the base seemed to be doing well. However, without the leader there, everyone became anxious.

So, staying here too long wouldn’t be a good idea.

Along the corridor, most people rushed by as if something big was about to happen—they looked over at us, gasped and then ran in the opposite direction.

"Why did they react that way?"

"It’s just a busy time, they are trying to prepare a sudden meal."

"Are you sure that’s it, Siwan?"

"Tch, calling me like that in public, you’ve got some big balls."

"Well, you’ve seen them."

"..."

Siwan stopped. She turned back to face me, her lips trembling. "Careful, don’t forget that nobody else can know."

"Tang Wei already knows, probably."

I couldn’t help but point out the truth, but Jiang Siwan just shook her head and pointed at me, her soft eye lifting to a sharp gaze. "Don’t push it."

"Don’t push it."

Somehow, Jiang Siwan seemed to hate losing the initiative and leadership role, which irritated me a little, although I agreed to sleep with her. Why did I have to jump through hoops to keep her happy?

As our footsteps echoed through the long hallway leading to the dining room, I decided to remind her that things wouldn’t always follow her plans. I matched her pace and reached out and grabbed her butt with one hand.

Her soft cheeks felt wonderful to squeeze, but she gasped loudly, and a tinge of red flushed across her pale skin. "What the hell are you doing?" Her voice trembled, whether in rage or pleasure, it wasn’t clear.

We continued to approach the door as the lovely woman blushed and pushed against me with her shoulder.

"I am just enjoying your nice body, don’t be stingy." I slipped up her skirt and grabbed her bare ass cheek, squeezing it while pushing my thumb towards her entrance. "Haaa..." Siwan breathed heavily, her steps slowing until we reached the doorway, and she faced me with a furious gaze that seemed almost erotic.

"Get your hand off me before I break it."

"Watch your mouth, or I’ll fuck you right here."

My thumb slipped closer to her pussy, but just before reaching her slippery entrance, a hand grabbed me in midair, the tight grip like a vice as Jiang Siwan’s voice trembled slightly when she spoke.

"If you don’t take your hands off me right now..."

Though she tried to be threatening, her breathless tone and quivering legs only made me want to push further. Before I could speak again, however, the sound of a door opening interrupted us.

Siwan quickly shifted her hips, and I removed my hands, leaving them by my side as a pretty young woman stepped outside.

"John!"

Jiang Roulan’s brown wavy hair bounced as she rushed up to me. Inside the room, various men and women sat around a large table, with some children seated at a smaller table in the corner. "You took so long, we’ve been waiting for you and... Mother? What are you doing with John? Your face looks a bit red..."

She stepped close to her mother, a slightly curious expression as she sniffed the air before frowning.

"Are you wearing a different perfume?"

Her eyes then darted between the two of us, her brows furrowed as I felt my heartbeat quicken in response. The atmosphere had turned tense and dangerous. However, Jiang Siwan didn’t falter under her daughter’s glare.

"Y-Yes, it’s hard to get expensive perfumes now, so I chose an older perfume." Siwan brushed her hair back, revealing a small kiss mark that she quickly covered, her eyes widening in surprise. "I was asking John about your relationship after he went out to finish your grandfather’s request."

Roulan looked at me with a doubtful look, her eyes lowering to my crotch, before she clicked her tongue.

"Tsk, Mother, did he try anything... strange?"

I wanted to shout that her mother is the one who asked me to go down on her, but Siwan glared at me and nervously answered with a shaky voice.

"S-Strange? Why would your boyfriend ask me something strange, darling?"

I stayed silent and nodded.

Roulan seemed to relax slightly when she suspiciously looked at her mother before smiling at me.

"Okay, let’s have dinner, shall we?" She grabbed my arm and led me into the room, where several dishes sat on the table.

The meal looked quite impressive for a month into the apocalypse, with plates of stir-fried meat, barbecue pork, chicken, rice and vegetables, but the atmosphere grew tense with the sudden entrance of Jiang Siwan. The children all stopped chatting and stared with wide eyes at the sound of chopsticks clanking on a plate, while she moved towards her seat.

Well, not that the children could hold back if they wanted to eat; most of the adults seemed to be waiting with the hotplates, keeping the food on the rotating table warm. I focused on the faces, but I only paid attention to Jiang Luo. Although he frowned at me, the aggression from before had vanished.

"Come, sit here, John~ Qinglan and the others are waiting."

Jiang Roulan pulled me to a second table beside the elders. On the table, I found my lovers. Mu Qinglan sat quietly, her back straight and calm. Tang Wei wore a military uniform over her bodysuit, blushing with a slightly sweaty brow. Li Ya also joined the same table.

"John~ where did you go?" Shen Yifei’s bright voice startled me, and I noticed the cold stare of Qinglan as we shared a glance; her lips quivered before curling into a smile.

"Darling, I thought you left me."

"I was just completing a task, and how could I leave you?"

Roulan wrapped my arm, and we sat at the table, with one more opening beside me. Qinglan and Yifei eyed the open spot, their hips shifting, before Jiang Siwan appeared with a cold face.

I had a bad feeling.

Jiang Roulan’s mouth twisted as she stared at her mother with a sharp glare, before looking at me with a soft expression. "John, I want you to know that you should be careful of being alone with my mother..."

"Why is that?"

"Because..." Her eyes lingered on the main table as Jiang Siwan whispered into her grandfather’s ear before swaying with short strides towards the table. "She’s just dangerous..."

Jiang Roulan’s warning made me want to cry, because I already knew the danger of that cougar.

However, what stunned me was that Jiang Siwan didn’t take the empty seat beside her father... but shifted to our table and placed her hand on the chair beside me.

"Hello everyone, I am Jiang Siwan. Xiao Roulan’s mother."

"Mother!?"

Then, before anyone could complain, her delicious rump dropped on the chair beside me, the tablecloth covering her thighs as she reached out underneath and placed a hand on my thigh.

"I am happy to meet the ones who helped Xiao Roulan come this far."

Jiang Siwan smiled like a mother, her eyes warm and gentle as she started to thank everyone. But... with her hand rubbing my leg under the table before slipping between my thighs destroyed that image.

However, I noticed a slight change in everyone else’s expressions...

Mu Qinglan looked at me with a calm smile that reminded me of an icy river in the dead of winter. Shen Yifei had her head down while fidgeting in her seat, Li Ya stared at my face, and Tang Wei seemed more concerned about the food than anything.

"Ah, hello... My name is Mu Qinglan."

"Shen Yifei."

"Tang Wei, Ma’am."

"Li Ya, Ma’am!"

Everyone greeted her, while I tried to focus on the food... her fingertips touching my sleeping dragon, rolling its eggs between her fingers.

"Well, I believe the meal will start soon. It’s a pleasure to greet you all again."

Jiang Siwan pulled back from my crotch, the tablecloth flapping slightly before she wiped the sweat on her blouse. Roulan looked at her mother with doubtful eyes, while everyone else remained quiet and focused on the food.

Clang!

Someone tapped a glass before Jiang Luo’s gruff voice echoed through the room.

"Welcome one and all, to the Jiang Family dinner. Since we have guests, we have tried to match the foreign etiquette to make them feel welcomed."

His eyes lingered on me with that announcement... did he mistake me for a Westerner?
