Tenancy Agreement:

The Landlord, hereafter referred to as Party A, has offered the Stranger, hereafter referred to as Party B, a tenancy contract for the property:

Property type: Protected Residential Unit

>> Provisions Offered by Party A

Upon acceptance of this agreement, Party B shall receive:

• Packaged drinking water × 10 liters per day.

• Access to a powered dwelling.

• Access to a basic shower (additional 5 liters of water will be provided).

• Priority to basic medical services (when a medicare center is established).

• Additional benefits can be given in time. These benefits would be solely at Party A’s discretion and Party B’s performance.

• Abide by the shelter’s rules.

• Completion of assigned tasks.

• Pay daily rent in exp.

"Basic shower? Shouldn’t I get a proper shower?" Karina asked.

"The sooner you find a plumber, the sooner you’ll get a proper shower," Aiden replied without a second thought.

Karina nodded and returned to reading the contract. Next to her were three other men, also reading the contracts. They were part of the wolves’ crew, but only a third of the entire group.

Old Joe was adamant that he needed the rest to protect the camp. Even Karina drew a hard line there, so Old Joe left for the camp with the rest of the crew.

Aiden didn’t care all that much since he would get the upgrade that he wanted as soon as they accepted the contract.

That’s the sole reason I let you off easy.

Aiden thought, sneakily glancing at his fingers.

Although he had stopped Karina’s attack, he could feel the stinging pain. That, too, when the sanctuary barrier was protecting him. Because of her insane strength, Aiden didn’t want to let her go and went soft on her.

Out of all the things he expected her to do, he didn’t think she’d attack him. Her unpredictability was the reason Aiden put two more obligations under Karina and her soldiers’ contracts.

First, they couldn’t harm Aiden or any other tenant there without his permission. And second, they cannot void the contract without Aiden’s involvement.

As long as they signed the contract, they would essentially be his slaves, unlike Alisha.

Maybe I should edit her contract as well. Just because she hadn’t tried anything yet doesn’t mean she wouldn’t do it in the future.

The chime of notifications snapped him out of his thoughts.

[Four tenants have been registered!]

[Current Tenants: 7/5]

[Expansion Mission (I) completed!]

[Energy credits x5,000 were added to the inventory.]

[Funds have been rounded off to $25,000,000]

[Skill points x3 have been awarded.]

[Class has been upgraded to: Floor Manager!]

[Please wait while expansion is in progress...]

As soon as the last notification appeared, the entire floor started shaking. Alisha hurriedly grabbed the kitchen counter, while others grabbed the walls. Only Aiden and Karina remained in their place.

"An earthquake?" Karina wondered, casually walking to the window. "Everything seems fine outside."

Aiden didn’t comment on her observation and instead opened the door once the trembling ceased. He walked out into the corridor and did not get zapped back inside the apartment.

Not only that, the dirty corridor was cleaned like it were new. Even the faulty lights from before had been replaced by new ones. Also, the lift seemed functional now.

Aiden reached to call the elevator, only to get zapped again.

[A caretaker is forbidden from leaving their property.]

"...this shit again."

"Boss, w-what’s going on!?" James yelled, panting from running down the stairs. "Wait! B-Boss, you’re outside!"

Alisha, Karina, and the others joined them in the corridor too, though after checking Aiden was safe, Alisha hurried back to his apartment to check on Lily. Thankfully, the little one had slept through the expansion.

From a limit of five to fifty residents, huh? But that aside, the Sanctuary skill finally got an upgrade.

Before anything else, Aiden clicked on the upgraded skill to check it out.

The first difference was that now the sanctuary didn’t protect individual units and entry points. It protected the entire floor.

Previously, the barrier only prevented the monsters from venturing inside and protected Aiden from being harmed, but now that benefit was extended to all tenants.

Also, now only tenants are allowed to enter or leave the barrier. Meaning, no one who wasn’t a tenant was allowed inside without Aiden’s approval. If someone tried, they’d get zapped, but the pain would be much worse than the shocks Aiden received.

"The barrier also got a new passive."

[Automatic Scavenging: The barrier releases a pulse originating from the Landlord’s dwelling that eliminates hostile entities lingering near the property perimeter once every three hours.]

[Automatic Scavenging cleared Floor 15 and 14.]

[27 human corpses scavenged!]

[9 goblin corpses scavenged!]

[1 Hobgoblin corpse scavenged!]

[Please select what to exchange the scavenged resources for:]

[Funds / Utility Resources / Randomized Evo-Gear blueprint fragment (basic)]

Aiden didn’t hesitate and clicked on Evo-Gear blueprint. If he could get them on his own, then perhaps he wouldn’t need the camp to exchange them for food.

But all that depends on the rarity of the equipment first.

[Error! Workshop not found. Please establish a workshop before procuring a blueprint.]

And how do I get that?

[Workshop can be set up as a utility room. Constructing a utility room requires Utility resources and funds.]

Alright, exchange the corpses for utility resources.

[Exchange Complete.]

[Acquired: Mechanical Parts +4]

[Acquired: Medical Supplies +12]

[Items have been deposited in Utility Resource Storage.]

[Items would be used automatically while constructing utility room(s).]

[Proceed with constructing Workshop?]
