Apocalypse Landlord: My Tenants Are All Beautiful Heroines.-Chapter 33: Preparations
Five people were gathered in the meeting room. James was familiarizing himself with the workshop while Alisha was preparing food for the group with Lily’s help.
The first phase of trading with the survivor camp was a success and Karina had herself vouched for the items they had sent. But even she was surprised that Old Joe didn’t send any Evo-Gear despite the request.
As much as she wanted to charge back into the camp and bring the gear, Aiden stopped her. Firstly, there weren’t many people who could use the Evo-Gear in his faction. So he wasn’t in any hurry to get them.
Besides, even Marcus mentioned something was off about the camp. Hopefully, it was Old Joe acting out. If that were the case, it would make Aiden’s job easier when he eventually made a move to absorb the camp.
But before that, he needed them to do the thing he had hired them for.
"I already talked with James," Aiden said. "The goblins are trapped on the first five floors and the two basement levels. So here’s the plan I came up with."
He nodded, and Marcus spread a rough sketch of the building on the table. Aiden had made it by tracing his [Map], so it was accurate.
"You will start from the fifth floor first," he explained. "You’ll bar as many doors as you can, then move around the corridor killing any goblins if you find them. Once the corridors are cleared, open one room at a time."
Aiden continued, "If you find any survivors, one of you would guide them up through the stairs. If they tried entering the floor with the elevator, the barrier would let the elevator pass, but crush the people into a paste."
Since the barrier’s security had increased, no one without tenancy could enter the place. If they tried entering through the elevator, the barrier would allow the elevator to pass, but keep the people outside. So, essentially, they’ll get crushed to death.
It was a beneficial situation for Aiden as he would control their fate if they wanted security.
"What about the corpses?" Glenn questioned. "Staying optimistic is good, but I refuse to believe no one has died trapped in their units."
"Send them up through the elevator along with the goblin corpses," Aiden replied nonchalantly. "The system would convert them into resources once they get close enough."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Since the system could clean them up, it would curb the possibility of illnesses spreading from decay.
"I know Karina would use her gauntlet to deal with them," Aiden said, turning to the wolves. "What about you guys?"
Damian, the silent one in the group, smiled like he had been waiting for Aiden to ask it and dropped a kukri and a combat knife on the table.
With one look, anyone could say those were Damian’s babies. Aiden picked the kukri and gently tapped the table’s edge with it.
Even without putting any force, the blade went into the wood. It was the same with the combat knife.
Kinetic weapons might not work against monsters, but goblins did not have sturdy skin. These blades would slice through them like butter.
"Do you mind if I borrow them for a second?" Aiden asked, then, without waiting for Damian’s reply, activated the shop.

Nice. These are decent weapons to give to a beginner once I establish the marketplace for the tenants.
In collaboration with the system, Aiden had already made big plans to execute in the future. But that will happen only once he can give the basic version of the system to the tenants.
Not only will it ease Aiden’s burden in day-to-day operations, but it will also improve his hold on the tenants so he won’t always have to depend on contract clauses.
Marcus didn’t have to be asked and placed his revolver on the table. It used magnum cartridges, hence could blow holes through lower-grade monsters like goblins.
However, since the gun was deafeningly loud, Marcus preferred using it as a small club instead. Aiden believed it was a waste to use such a magnificent weapon like that, but he agreed with Marcus’s decision.
After registering them as well, it was Glenn’s turn. Unlike the rest of his group, the guy didn’t have weapons, but two different shields.
First was a normal riot shield made of polycarbonate, but the other was a ballistic shield.
"I mostly use this one," Glenn said, hitting the riot shield. "It’s light and can stop attacks from goblins. The other one is heavier, but I still carry it on my back just in case."
"I wasn’t expecting this, but it’s great!" Aiden nodded, quickly registering both the shields. "I was worried none of you had any defense equipment. You’re more competent than I believed."
At the same time, he bought some handguns, ammunition, and a couple of smoke grenades from the shop and placed them on the table, casually exposing his ’secret’.
"What the hell..."
The ever-quiet Damian was the one to speak, while the rest were stunned into silence. In the days they had been there, none of them had seen Aiden make things spawn out of thin air.
Everything just happened to be there behind closed doors. Now they understood that Aiden wasn’t scavenging things like them. He was creating them, and he casually showed his ability to them.
An evolver’s abilities were a closely guarded secret in the apocalypse. After all, someone could use it against them. But Aiden showed it to them. In their eyes, it was a sign of trust.
[Tenant: Glenn Thompson’s trust rose to 59%]
[Tenant: Marcus Holloway achieved an emotional breakthrough. Trust has been upgraded to Belief.]
[Tenant: Marcus Holloway’s belief rose to 3%]
[Tenant: Damian Saint’s trust rose to 39%]
[Tenant: Karina Shaw’s affection rose to 18%]
"No wonder you weren’t worried about getting raided," Karina mumbled, still in disbelief. "Even if someone somehow got past the barrier, they wouldn’t find anything of use."
"Even if they did take something, it would get replaced in a second..." Marcus chimed in, his eyes shining like he had found his savior.
"Creating things... out of thin air..." Glenn whispered, still in disbelief.
"It’s not that simple," Aiden replied, leaning back in his chair. "But yes, I can make things out of thin air. Well, now that you’re armed, let’s discuss the final part of the plan."
