Yang Shao was not convinced that the corpse in front of him was killed by a zombie. There were no teeth marks on her wounds. f𝒓𝗲𝗲𝒘𝑒𝚋ｎoѵ𝒆𝗹.co𝗺

In conclusion, this person was not bitten by a zombie!

Li Ran reminded him, “Our enemies are not only the zombies. There are also mutated plants and rats. Who knows what else is out there.”

“You’re right. There might not be anyone around this place at all.”

Yang Shao felt more at ease.

Li Ran raised her eyebrows.

“Aren’t mutated plants and animals just as scary?”

It seemed that Yang Shao did not think so.

“Humans will always be the scariest. Everyone has their own thoughts. You’ll never know what they’re thinking or what they’ll do.”

They continued to walk around the place while ignoring the corpse.

There was really nothing they could do about it.

Nonetheless, Yang Shao still glanced at the corpse from time to time.

Suddenly, he thought of something and asked, “Will that corpse turn into a zombie? From the looks of it, she had just recently died. Blood is still flowing out from her body.”

“I don’t know. Probably not.”

They found a door and opened it.

The first thing they laid their eyes on was a luxurious reception desk. Other than that, the place was just filled with garbage. There was an unpleasant smell in the air.

Li Ran instantly covered her mouth and nose.

In the end, she could not resist and vomited.

Yang Shao patted Li Ran’s back to comfort her.

Then, he asked in a concerned tone, “Are you alright? I can go back to the car and get you a bottle of water.”

Li Ran immediately shook her head and pointed at her waist bag.

Usually, that was where she kept her pistols and knives. It was rather convenient.

However, since she had left behind the gun for Wang Gang and the others, she stuffed a bottle of water into the bag instead.

Li Ran took out the bottle and drank a mouthful of water. After rinsing her mouth, she felt much better.

She breathed a sigh of relief and gradually got used to the stench. It was not as bad as before.

Nonetheless, it was still very unpleasant.

They quickly searched the place.

Behind the front desk was an open lounge. It took up most of the space at the back.

There were bookshelves and many of the books had been torn apart.

Most of the bookshelves had fallen down. There were black dots on them.

Li Ran and Yang Shao decided to get a closer look.

Each black dot was about the size of a person’s finger. Some were also smaller than the others.

Upon closer inspection, Yang Shao shouted, “F*ck!”

He finally recognized what they were.

“It’s rat poop! How are they so big?”

Li Ran was stunned.

If these black dots were all rat poop, then there could only be one explanation for the sea of black dots in front of her.

“This place is most likely infested with rats. Maybe there’s a lot of food in this building and that’s what attracted them.”

Li Ran voiced her opinion.

Yang Shao scratched his head. He signaled Li Ran to follow him. They went to another room to investigate. 𝒇𝒓eewe𝒃𝑛𝒐𝘃𝒆𝚕.co𝘮

The experimental drug should be in the basement. It would be better for them to fully scout the first floor beforehand.

As they were walking, a burst of violent coughing could be heard, followed by an angry voice.

However, they could not make out what the voice was saying.

Li Ran and Yang Shao looked at each other. Then, they headed towards the room where the sound was coming from.

They slowed down their footsteps and made absolutely no noise.
