Apocalypse: Reborn with a Soul Sync Farming Space System-Chapter 111 Violet Door Unlocked
The chair screeched loudly as it scraped across the floor.
"You can’t do that..." Stefan said, his voice cracking. "Let me bury her, it is the last thing I can do for her, please."
Laurel’s eyes softened for a moment, and she quickly turned her back against him. "To prevent any mishap from happening, the body needs to be burned, I’ll bring the ashes for you." She said, already walking out of the room.
"No, no, please." Stefan rushed behind her.
Seeing his sudden movement, two soldiers rushed inside restraining him.
"Don’t hurt him," Laurel quickly commanded.
The soldier’s grip on him loosened.
Laurel glanced over her shoulder. "Please try to understand this is the protocol, don’t make it harder than it already is." She said, before walking out the door.
"Uncuff him and bring him to a nicer room." Laurel’s voice echoed down the hallway.
"Yes, Commander." The soldiers immediately saluted.
When Laurel stepped out of the isolation center, she let out a deep breath of exasperation.
[Mission 008: Plant annual crops completed.
Reward:
Points: {12000}
Coins: {500}]
The system’s blue screen hovered above her.
Laurel’s step faltered as she glanced to see if anyone was looking. When she saw no one, she turned back to the screen.
[The space behind the Violet door is now unlocked. Hosts may purchase it now.
Cost: 1000 points.]
Laurel stared at the screen with an indifferent expression, she was too tired both emotionally and psychologically to react to the system’s words.
"System, apart from farming and unlocking space houses, and trading what else can you do?" Laurel asked, feeling down. She felt she had no one to talk... No way to listen to her and understand her.
[I can do a lot of things, it depends on whether your level is high enough to use those skills.]
Again, she had encountered another dead end.
"Make the purchase," Laurel muttered under her breath.
[Sure.]
[Purchase completed.]
[1000 points deducted.
Balance:
Points: {23120}
Coins: {1290}]
"Tell me what the space behind the violet door is used for?" Laurel asked mindlessly, resuming walking again.
She hoped the talk would keep her occupied, and help her forget the things she wanted to.
[The space behind the violet door is known as the rearing space. Hosts now have the ability to rear farm animals. The space functions exactly like the real world, and the animals reared can be sold or eaten.
However, Host’s current level is still low and can only rear three animals; Chicken, goat, and cow.]
"Oh," Laurel shook her head. "And you never said anything about rearing animals." A line of crease formed between her brows.
Although they had some live chickens, they did not buy any live cow or goat, the ones they had were grilled, fried, boiled, or smoked.
[The information was withheld as hosts haven’t reached the right stage to know about it.]
Of course, the system would always have justifiable excuses for every single one of its actions. Even if she wanted to get farm animals now, it would be as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack.
The animals would already be infected by the red mist or eaten by the infected. Either way, it led to a dead end.
[Host should not worry about getting farm animals, you can easily purchase them from the dimensional market... It will cost a little coin.]
Coins? Laurel frowned, she and Ling Xuan were saving the coins to purchase weapons and alloys from other dimensions, why would they want to waste them on farm animals? Except it brings double the value of the cost, otherwise it would not be worth it.
Laurel massaged her temples feeling exhausted and her head was already throbbing.
"System, let’s talk later... my head is throbbing." Laurel’s voice became weak and her gaze became a little disoriented.
[Host is advised to immediately enter the space house to recuperate.]
"But..."
Before she could finish her words, the earth tilted and she felt herself falling. Before she could touch the ground, a blinding light flickered through her vision.
"Master Laurel!" Luo’s voice was disoriented and distant in Laurel’s ears.
Her eyes fluttered as she tried to stay awake. Her vision was blurred, but she saw a distorted feminine figure walking towards her and she didn’t need to be told to deduce that it was Ling Xuan.
Before Ling Xuan could reach her, she suddenly held her head, staggering back.
She shook her head as if it would help in clearing her mind, and she felt pain shoot through her as if it was tearing every inch of her apart.
Ling Xuan’s body swayed, falling to the ground facing Laurel who was now unconscious, but her brows pulled together in pain.
"What..." Before Ling Xuan could finish her words, everything went blank.
Luo rushed towards them, "Masters! What is going on?!" its face turned to one of worry.
[Stay away from them and don’t disrupt the process.]
"What process?" Luo asked with a deeper frown.
[You’ll know after they succeed.]
Luo didn’t like the answer, but there was nothing it could do, after all the system could be regarded as its boss.
Luo paced around like a mother hen worrying about its missing chicks.
Meanwhile, in the outside world, no one knew where the Commander had gone.
Alexander frowned at the answer he received from the soldiers in the isolation center. He had gone to Laurel’s place before coming here, and they were still telling him she had gone back home.
"When did she leave?" Alexander asked.
"A couple of hours ago." The soldier replied.
Alexander walked out of the isolation center, he tilted his head to the sky, and it was almost dark red, which meant it was midnight, yet his wife was nowhere to be found.
’Could it be that she is with Mr. Lennox?’ At that thought, his expression darkened dangerously.
He began walking in a long stride, his hands balled into a fist, and his teeth gritted so hard that the sound could be heard.
