Chapter 60: Chapter 60- The Prodigy

Dante whistled at the dark pit. He turned around looking at the group.

"So who is the first? It might be a trap for all we know." Dante said.

Ashar smiled without saying a word and slowly walked toward the edge of the cliff. He nodded to himself and jumped.

Dante watched him fall until the darkness swallowed him whole.

"Guess. He is the crazy one." He muttered to himself.

"Yeah, he is like that. Sorry if we cause any trouble." Domas said and followed Ashar, leaping through the air with his sword.

Kale was the last. He gave a glance at Dante, not sure he wanted to trust him. He then let out a sigh and jumped. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Dante looked at the trio and his expression went cold. He needed to know more information about them, especially Ashar. That young man gave him a familiar feeling and yet even stranger one.

It was he was composed of many people. Talking him was like giving a speech to a crowd. This was not just a side effect of his power.

Dante grabbed his face.

"I hope they don’t see through my face." He said to himself and jumped down.

Immediately, gravity pulled down his body. Steady, his speed increased. He saw many strings handing on the wall, making it like a bridge for ant.

He grabbed the string and it snapped at the end. He looked at the string.

"Oh, it is surprisingly hard." Dante muttered.

"So where is that base."

Soon, his eyes picked up an sphere of mana embedded on the wall.

"Woah." His eyes widened as he saw High Heaven’s base. It was the opposite of their name.

The cave on the wall was large, bigger than the rebellion castle. Faint blue light illuminating form the entrance of the cave brightened up the dark atmosphere.

Maybe because of the wind, he couldn’t hear anything at all.

Dante maneuvered his body into a position where he could get close. He took out his two axe and stuck at the wall, slowing down his momentum.

His limbs were on fire, he grinned and channeled mana to strengthen his body.

Soon, he stopped, hanging on the wall.

Underneath his feet was darkness and if he could just move, he could entered into the cave.

So he did.

He swung his body and using that momentum to landed into the cave system.

"Phew.I almost feel like a ninja." Dante joked.

He stood up and looked around. The cave was massive. It didn’t appear to be man made either.

Dante walked over the stone and touched it.

The blue light was coming from the mana stone like the dungeon he once saw.

"Where is everyone?" He turned to the cave and continued walking.

He slowly walked, observing the cave. The more he observed, the more he was convinced that the cave was made by some sort of monster.

He stopped his step midway and turned around.

"Was my mind playing a trick?" Dante said.

He squinted his eyes at the entrance. The blue light was flickering.

He shrugged off and continued walking.

Again. He felt something.

Dante turned around to observe at the entrance of the cave. This time he was certain as the blue light didn’t exist anymore.

"Weird."

As he was walking, his eyes picked up something coming out from the wall. Dante immediately lifted up his cane to welcome the thing.

The wall crumbled and revealed a small hole.

Dante didn’t wait and fired off the mana bolt.

Dark shadow flashed and dodged the mana bolt, launchung at him. Dante managed to get a good look at the monster.

Dante swung his cane and managed to hit the monster, it leaped through the air and landed on to the wall.

The monster was a spider at the size of a hunting dog.

It sprang with terrifying violence, legs folding and then exploding outward like coiled steel. Air split with a dry snap as it hurtled toward him, fangs bared and dripping.

Dante staggered backward.

The spider slammed into where he’d stood an instant before, stone cracking under its bulk.

Dante raised his hand and fired off his most used spell.

Mana bolt.

A streak of concentrated energy lanced forward, exploding against the spider’s carapace. Sparks scattered. The creature shrieked.

"Great." Dante said.

[You have slain Ung spider.]

[200 points earned.]

Another shitty name.

He ignored the spider, not even bothering to take out the mana core.

Soon, he encountered human, the real human of High Heaven.

The man was tall, towering over him. He held a spear and stomped at the ground, trying to get his attention.

He looked at Dante from head to toe and asked.

"Who are you? Are you from that Union’s group?"

Dante shook his head. "We come together but not in the same group."

"What is your reason to our base?"

Dante thought for a moment. Unable to land on the satisfied answer, he decided to speak his mind with honesity.

"I am just hearing to check the rurmor boss called the Prodigy." Dante said.

The man nodded, appearing to satisfied with this. "Well then, welcome to the High Heaven. I am sure our boss is looking to see you."

The man stepped beside and gestured him to move forward.

Dante gave him a nod and passed him. He saw a towering gate, completely covering the cave.

It was made from the string he grabbed earlier.

There was a door made from wood. Dante opened and entered.

In a flip, the entire scenery shifted. From the ugly dark cave to the one filled with exotic ecosystem.

There were trees emerging from the hard ground. It was a giant dome.

In the middle was a huge castle. It was not grand like the rebellion but not modest either.

Dante’s eyes spread across the dome scanning each and every corner of the area.

There was not much he got get impressed by the dome. But what he noticed was the strength of people here.

Each and everyone were much stronger than the average people he saw in the rebellion. Now, he understood why High Heaven stood tall despite the two towering forces.

Dante looked around not sure where he could start. To be honest, he didn’t have any definitive plan for this trip.

"Where the heck are those guys?"

As he was strollinga around, he began to pick the gazes of people around him.

Soon, he found himself getting lost in the field. Judging from the marks on the ground, it seemed to be a training ground.

He turned his head as he noticed a movement and a familiar aura again.

A group of people were walking toward his direction.

In the center of the group was the man.

Red. Fierce. Powerful.

A series of words echoed in his mind. Those were the first thought he conjured when he saw the man.

He was dark skin with a long black hair tied neatly. He wore a red east Asian cloth similar to the one Dante wore.

The man gracefully walked, his aura overwhelmed everything around him as if the world didn’t complete without his presence.

He glanaced Dante and turned around.

Dante stepped beside, observinh them.

He saw Ashar stood in the middle of the field spreading his arm, welcoming the Prodigy to come forward.

Domas came to Dante’s side. "Took you long enough, bro."

Dante nodded and asked. "What is going on?"

"Oh this. Just our boss asking for a fight with the Prodigy."

Dante was confused by this. According to his information, The Union and High Heaven faced against each other with The Union suffering greatly against the Prodigy.

Did he not experience that battle?

Domas sensed the confusion on Dante and filled in.

"Our boss recently join us."

"Huh?"

"Yep, he only encountered just a few days ago. I don’t know why he joined the Union."

"Where was he?

"I don’t know. He never talked about us. Only saying, he was trapped in a cave and dug himself out. I think, he got teleported into the ground."

Dante nodded. "So that is why he decided to face the Prodigy? To see who is the stronger one."

"Like that."

"Domas." Kale called out, shooting a cold glance at him.

Domas nodded and let out a sigh.

Dante observed this exchange and turned his eyes to the fight that was going to happen.

Ashar stretched and did a series of strange movement. The Prodigy was silent, standing, placing his hand on the sword. He yawned, carefree of what was about to happen.

He didn’t seem to register Ashar as a threat.

"Do you think Ashar can beat the Prodigy?" Dante asked.

Domas smiled. "I don’t know. The Prodigy is pretty strong. No. In fact, he is the strongest I have ever met. But Ashar is strange."

"How?"

"Just gut feeling. He didn’t reveal much but I know he is strong and hiding something."

"You don’t trust him?"

Domas shook his head. "Trust doesn’t matter in this world. Only strength preserve."
