Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 251: Grandpa Chu’s Past Memories
Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Grandpa Chu’s Past Memories
Grandpa Chu looked at the middle-aged man wearing silver armour and wrist guards. He had on boots that seemed to have been made from beast skin and was wielding a heavy sword.
What surprised him was that he seemed to be in a huge empty arena. The sword in hand and constantly practicing the same move.
The move looked extremely simple, it was just drawing the sword from its scabbard. But as he practiced over and over again, he seemed to feel a certain energy following the movement of the sword.
That sword was all too familiar to him. It had a hilt made of a red gem carved into a dragon head.
The scene changed again and this time the middle-aged man had aged a bit and had some grey hairs on the temple. However, his face still maintained its youth and looked a little younger than when he was middle-aged.
He was still practicing the sword technique but this time there were other moves that followed the first sword drawing technique he had practised before.
He was in a deep mountain with huge ancient trees and large rocks. This was a forest that he had never seen or heard of before.
It was full of life and vitality. Even though it felt like he was seeing a vision, he could feel the dense spiritual energy in the air within that forest.
The man drew his sword using the sword technique and a huge boulder was turned into powder.
Grandpa Chu couldn’t help but marvel at how lethal that technique was. Moreover, it was just drawing the sword and he had not even started to swing it yet.
The next moment, the man continued to execute other techniques that caused significant damage to the ancient trees and boulders in the forest.
The place within a hundred miles of where the man was had been turned into a clearing with dust from the boulders and splinters from the trees.
Unfortunately, apart from the sword drawing technique, Grandpa Chu couldn’t see the other techniques clearly. Everything was blurry as if a layer of fog was preventing him from seeing them.
When he tried to concentrate and see them clearly, his head hurt so much he felt as if it would explode.
He deduced that he was probably not strong enough to see the other techniques and they might hurt his cultivation if he continued to investigate.
As he continued to follow the vision, the scene changed again and this time he saw the man in a battlefield.
He was at the front like a commander leading a large troupe of soldiers in battle and killing enemies with a swing of a sword as if he was slicing butter with a hot knife.
Wherever he passed, enemy soldiers fell like poisoned chicken. freewёbnoνel.com
Amidst the battle, he saw a young girl, about thirteen years old also holding a long sword and fighting like her life depended on it.
Just like the man, she was swinging the sword with so much strength that didn’t fit her young age and small body.
The only difference was that her swordsmanship didn’t seem to have a specific technique. She was simply fighting with her own style.
She was wearing a mini-size armor that looked the same as the general leading the soldiers at the front.
When grandpa Chu finally focused on the faces of the two people, he was so shocked that he woke up from the mysterious state he had entered.
When everyone saw that he was awake, they looked at him curiously. Chu Miao took a glass of water and offered it to him to calm himself down as she could tell he was agitated.
After drinking the water, he turned to look at his granddaughter and suddenly burst into laughter.
The rest of the family looked at each other wondering whether their grandfather had gone crazy or something.
He was fine an hour ago before he entered that mysterious state after seeing the sword technique drawn by Chu Hao. Now, he was behaving like that and laughing so happily, what did he gain?
Everyone was asking themselves the same question.
After laughing for a while and calming down, Grandpa Chu finally spoke.
"I gained some of the memories of my previous life. Bunny was right, I took her to the battlefield when she was very young.
The Bunny I just saw was only about thirteen years old but was already killing enemies on the battlefield. Truly, my Chu Zheng’s precious granddaughter.
I hope I remember more in the future." Grandpa Chu said with another satisfied laugh.
"Grandpa, what do you mean?" Chu Hao asked the question in everyone’s mind.
They wondered what kind of memories he had gained. Wasn’t he supposed to be studying the sword technique? So, why was he talking about the past life?
"When I saw that sword technique Chu Hao had drawn, I was immediately pulled into a place I didn’t recognize.
The first looked like a large arena with four pillars, one pillar in every corner. However, there wasn’t a wall, so I don’t get what the pillars were for.
The next place I saw was a dense mountain forest filled with dense spiritual energy, huge ancient trees, and large boulders.
And the last place I saw was a large-scale battlefield filled with killing, blood, and all types of weapons and techniques.
But, it was the people I saw in these places that shocked me into waking up." Grandpa Chu started to explain what had happened when he opened that book.
"Who did you see?" Chu Mo asked his father.
The person I had been following in all those places turned out to be a younger version of myself. I also saw a thirteen year old Bunny on the battlefield." Grandpa Chu replied immediately with some awe.
He was still surprised that what he had seen had actually happened. But remembering the things Chu Miao had talked about when she woke up from her coma after being hit by a truck, he had to believe it.
It looked like he would probably regain his past life’s memories slowly when he sees things related to his past.
"The sword technique Chu Hao drew is one I saw myself use in the arena for practice, in the forest, and also in the battlefield.
However, in the arena, I was only practicing the first move, which is just drawing the sword from its scabbard.
Don’t look down on it. From the memories I just remembered, that move could cut down an ancient tree that can’t be circled by five men.
In the battlefield, the moment I drew my sword, even before I could swing it, those close to me would fall with their bodies severed.
I had never thought that a sword technique could be so powerful. I must say that I am impressed.
However, I noticed that I seemed to be the only one using that sword technique. So, it must have something to do with the bloodline of the Chu family." Grandpa Chu explained and also voiced his doubts about the usage of the sword technique.
"Are you suspecting that only members of the Chu family who carry the bloodline of the family can practice this sword technique?" Chu Hao asked after analysing what his grandfather had said.
"Yes, not only that, but I think even within the Chu family, not everyone with their bloodline could practice it. There must be restrictions imposed upon by the ancestors who created the technique.
However, since ancestor Chu Batian gave Chu Hao this inheritance, it means that he is qualified to practice it. I will teach you the first move while I re-learn it myself.
Even though I have gained some memories about my past life and especially with concern to the sword technique, I couldn’t see everything clearly, as if a certain force was preventing me from doing so.
Therefore, I can only use what I experienced in that vision and practice." Grandpa Chu explained his plan to his grandson.
If the two practise together, maybe they will get results faster.
"Okay. By the way, Bunny, unlike grandpa who only had vague memories of the past life, yours are clear, do you know what those places grandpa mentioned are?" Chu Hao suddenly wanted to know if his grandfather really remembered some things from his past life or if it was just an illusion.
"Those places indeed exist. The arena with four pillars grandpa mentioned is the competition arena of the Chu family.
It had an invisible barrier that would be activated during competition to prevent the onlookers from getting hurt by the energy or attacks spilling out of the arena.
The pillars are where energy was injected to activate the barrier. It needed at least four elders in the golden core stage to activate it.
During competitions, the Chu family elders who preferred to live in seclusion would come early to activate the barrier before going back." Chu Miao explained the use of the arena and its origin.
