Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies-Chapter 213: Don’t disgust me
The woman shook off the hands of the two women and rushed. She pushed one and scratched the other before rushing at the man who was holding her son. She hated this man to the point that she wished she could die with him. Not only did he capture her and make her carry his children, he even abused her son because Meng Guo was not as good as other children and was slower than the rest.
"Let go of my child!" Jiang Haidai screamed at the man as she scratched his hands and face.
"Ah, you crazy woman!" The man didn’t expect Jiang Haidai to rush at him. He was startled and didn’t think twice before letting go of the child and pushing the woman away from him.
"GUO GUO!"
Jiang Haidai didn’t care about herself and scrambled to her feet. When she saw that her son was falling and was about to plummet to death, her eyes widened in fear and her knees buckled.
Just then —
A large water hand appeared out of thin air and caught Meng Guo. The child who was crying paused and looked around; though he knew that he was saved, he didn’t dare to move.
Even though he was young, he had seen many things in the last few days. He knew that his dad disliked him, but in the past few days, his father got angry at the smallest thing and even beat him up when he ate just a piece of bread.
Because Meng Guo went through a lot of things, he learnt to be careful and didn’t yell out in delight even if the water was not cold and didn’t feel dangerous.
Bai Meiyue caught the child in her arms just as the water hand dissipated. When Dacheng saw her holding and cradling the child as if he were her own, he sneered and spat on the road.
Women. They were always weak when it came to children. Now this was good. These people would definitely use the mother of the child and ask them to save their lives.
Just as Dacheng expected, the father of Meng Guo looked at Bai Meiyue and caught hold of Jiang Haidai and said to Bai Meiyue, "You have to save us! The child cannot live without his mother. You won’t be so heartless as to take the child alone without taking his mother, right?"
"Look at this. His mother is pregnant and has another child; you can’t leave them alone!" The man knew that the woman would never ask him to throw Jiang Haidai down, which meant she would have to come upstairs and clean the zombies if she wanted to save Jiang Haidai.

As he pushed her to the front, he threatened her, "You better cry for help or else I will throw you downstairs."
Jiang Haidai sucked in a breath as she turned to look at the woman who was holding her son. She parted her lips to beg but before she could say anything, she heard Bai Meiyue say,
"Who says that I am not heartless?" sneered Bai Meiyue as she coddled the boy in her arms. She raised her head and looked at the man who was using a child and a pregnant woman to threaten her. She turned and looked at the woman before saying, "Your son looks good, even though he is a bit slow. With his good looks, I believe he will fetch a good price."
She curled her lips in a cruel smirk and questioned, "Tell me, how many supplies will I get if I were to sell your son? Now that the world has turned lawless like this, I bet there will be many perverts willing to buy your son for a good price, right?"
"No, you won’t!" Jiang Haidai was scared out of her wits when she heard Bai Meiyue’s words. Her son was so young; if he was sold off to a pervert, would he be able to survive?
"Why won’t I?" Bai Meiyue sneered when she heard the woman’s words. "He is not my son and thus, I share no obligation to raise and protect him. You are his mother; you should be protecting him. Are you still lost in the daydream where this man would wake up and rescue and protect your son?"
"Then you might as well jump down and kill yourself. You cannot protect this child; what makes you think that you can save the one in your belly?"

Bai Meiyue was not being harsh. She was being practical. When she was living in the post-apocalyptic world, she knew how hard it was to survive with a big belly. People often called her useless and a fool; if not for her abilities, she would have been sooner or later killed by the zombies because she was just a burden on her team and no one wanted to bother with her.
This woman’s situation was even worse than hers; she had not awakened as an ability user and her belly was already seven months old. If this woman wanted to survive then she needed to buck up. If not, then dying was a better option.
"It’s just that." Bai Meiyue looked down at the child in her arms and snickered, "I wonder what would become of this boy once his mother is dead."
"I—I am scared," the woman cried out while looking at the monsters that were surrounding the building; even though they were not facing the building where she was living, it was still scary. "It’s so terrifying... I—can’t you take care of my son?"
"You think that the world is terrifying for just you?" Bai Meiyue sneered as she hugged the child in her arms and stated with a cold voice, "Is the world not scary for me and them? I don’t care if you, as his mother won’t care for him; why should I? Isn’t it better to let this boy die? At least before dying he will be able to see the cowardice of his mother!"
