Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 143: Gathering
Chapter 143: Gathering
Elena had already marked nineteen individuals so far.
In addition to the Paige siblings, she had also marked the Benette family and little Lucy a while ago.
They were stationed in different sectors of Paradise.
The Benette family oversaw the marine life in the Eastern Lake, while little Lucy joined Little Mia and Little Koby to feed the animals.
They diligently fulfilled their roles, ensuring that everything within the space thrived.
Elena then glanced at the Golden Tablet Mark List, and the sight of her expanding team brought a smile to her face.
The more people she gathered, the more they could oversee the space’s productions, allowing her to devote her energy to nurturing the baby.
But she would still have the final say on important matters, guiding her team to ensure every decision aligned with her vision.
"Dr. Paige, how do you feel now?" Ethan asked.
"I feel a soothing warmth coming from my head," Dr. Paige replied.
"That’s normal. Daniel, take Dr. Paige on a tour inside Paradise and explain the rules to him at the same time," Ethan instructed.
"Okay, brother."
Once inside Paradise, he exclaimed, finally grasping why the Caldwells had thrived amidst disaster.
As Daniel explained the rules and the skills offered by the Golden Tablet, the Paige siblings listened attentively.
They were overwhelmed by the information Daniel shared, but they were genuinely amazed by how this space functioned.
"There are five sectors inside Paradise, and your task is to focus on checking the animals’ situation, especially sister Elena’s pets."
"Alright," Dr. Paige replied eagerly.
They also saw the kids helping Grandpa Caldwell and greeted them enthusiastically—a stark contrast to the struggles faced by residents outside.
At least now, with the help of the mysterious shop, they can breathe a little easier.
’Speaking of the Paradise Shop, are they connected to them?’
"Daniel, do you know about the Paradise shop? Does this place called Paradise have any connection to it?" Dr. Paige asked, his curiosity piqued as he watched his sister shyly interact with the other kids.
"The Paradise owns that shop. As I mentioned earlier, we need to gather a lot of jades and antiques to maintain and upgrade the Golden Tablet," Daniel explained.
Dr. Paige felt excited at the thought of all the resources available in this space.
He realized he wouldn’t have to worry about going hungry anymore as long as he stayed with the Caldwell family.
"Oh, I almost forgot! If you need to request supplies, just head over to the Southern Inventory and ask for Butler Aki," Daniel added, ensuring Dr. Paige had all the information he needed.
Dr. Paige nodded in understanding, and soon after, he and Grandpa Caldwell began discussing matters related to animal care, diving into the details of their responsibilities.
As evening descended, everyone gathered around Grandpa Caldwell, and Ethan took the opportunity to introduce the newest member of their team.
"Nice to meet you!" Dr. Paige said with a friendly smile.
"Hello, I am Ramon and this is my wife Jessa."
"Dr. Paige, and this is my younger sister, Sera," Dr. Paige introduced, gesturing to his sister, who stood shyly beside him.
Everyone quickly bonded, their laughter and chatter filling the unit as they enjoyed their meals together and shared stories about their experiences. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"Let’s also grab some beer and wine for a quick drink," someone suggested, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Everyone agreed, and soon a round of drinks was poured.
This was the easiest way to get to know each other, fostering camaraderie that would help them work well together in space.
"Dr. Paige, are you okay staying on the 15th floor?" Olso asked, offering his unit since he was the only one there.
He was currently staying with his best friend, Xander, leaving his unit unattended.
"It’s still fine. There are a lot of residents knocking on my door, but I just ignore them," Dr. Paige replied.
"Then just stay in my unit. It would be safer that way. I’m currently in Xander’s guest room, leaving my unit unattended," Olso suggested.
Since Xander often had to guard the floor at night, he was worried about his sibling.
To ensure their safety, he invited Oslo to stay in his unit so they could look out for each other.
Dr. Paige considered Olso’s offer carefully.
Given his sister’s timid nature, it would indeed be safer for her to be with them. He decided not to decline this time.
After the meal, they began to leave one by one, making their way downstairs to their respective units.
When Ethan entered their home, he busied himself with various tasks, leaving Elana to relax on the sofa.
He soon returned, toothbrush in hand, ready to help clean his wife’s teeth.
Elana felt flustered, like a princess in a fairytale, waiting for everything to be done for her.
She quickly took the toothbrush from him, saying, "Alright, I know you care for me a lot, especially since I’m pregnant, but I still have my hands. Plus, the pregnancy is only a month along, so I can still move normally. No need to freak out, okay?"
Elena saw the anxiety in her husband’s eyes; he was always uneasy about her.
Every little thing she did sparked worry in him.
While she understood his concern, especially with the pregnancy, she wished he could relax.
"But the books say that a three-month pregnancy can be unstable. We need to be cautious." Ethan replied
"What book?" Elana asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I... the book about pregnancy," he stammered.
"Ban that book. Go talk to your aunt; she knows much more about my situation," she replied, trying to ease his worries.
"Wife, you still need to be cautious," Ethan insisted.
"Am I not? I haven’t helped with any tasks inside Paradise or at the shop downstairs. I’ll become a salted fish soon," she joked.
"It’s fine. You can be a salted fish; I can take care of everything," Ethan declared with determination.
Elana rolled her eyes and smiled. "As long as you’re happy. Don’t worry, I won’t tire myself out. My baby is my top priority right now."
