Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 149: Wife, come back now
Chapter 149: Wife, come back now
The moment she finally gathered her thoughts, the first thing she checked was the baby.
She gently caressed her belly, comforting the baby, as she worried that she might have frightened it.
"Baby, it’s alright."
Fortunately, based on her reaction and observation, the baby seemed fine. Still, she would ask Aunt Liza for a thorough check-up later.
Afterward, she stood up and realized that her husband was missing.
’Where is he?’
Using her [Telepathy] skill, she tried to communicate with him, but there was no response from his side.
She closed her eyes to assess the situation inside the space and discovered that all the marked individuals were gone, but the unmarked living beings were still inside.
Soon, she understood: she was isolated.
Poochi and Mimi, along with the other pets, were still roaming around, confused about the kids’ whereabouts.
They had been playing a while ago, happily chasing each other, but then the kids disappeared.
Now he was barking nonstop, looking around every corner for the kids.
Back to her situation, Elena exclaimed as she gazed at the Golden Tablet still hovering above her.
"What now? Can I leave Paradise while you carry out your updates?"
But the Golden Tablet remained still, leaving her feeling utterly helpless.
With nothing else to do, she quickly teleported and checked each sector for any changes.
She went to Western Fertile Soil to see Poochi and Mimi and calming them down, as they had been barking for a while now.
Seeing her appear, Poochi ran excitedly, circling her side while barking in confusion.
"Aw~aw~aw."
’Mistress, I’m glad you’re still here. Why is everyone not around anymore?’
Elena quickly petted him, knowing Poochi was not used to being without his human masters.
"They are outside, so there’s no need to search inside the Paradise. We will leave together later to reunite with them."
"Meow~meow~meow," Mimi whined, nudging her head against Elena’s legs and trying to look adorable as she begged for food.
’I want food, pretty owner. I’m hungry looking for my best friend Mia.’
Elena then retrieved a selection of dog and cat food, along with provisions for rare animals, so they could enjoy their early dinner and be rewarded for actively searching for their human friends.
While Elena was isolated inside the space, the situation outside was becoming concerning; it had been almost two hours, and there was still no sign of her.
"Still no update?" Grandpa Caldwell asked, noticing his grandson’s calm demeanor, though he could sense the worry beneath the surface.
"No updates yet. The [Emergency] trigger isn’t working, but the [Inventory] skills are functioning. Let’s just wait; maybe she will appear now," Ethan replied, hoping that Elena would soon show up safe with the baby.
He glanced at his watch, which read four o’clock in the afternoon.
’It was almost evening. Wife, come back now.’
The kids sensed the unease around them as the adults grew more tense.
They exchanged confused glances, their playful energy fading as they realized something was wrong.
Everyone was on edge, anxiously awaiting Elena’s return, utterly unaware that someone was plotting against them.

Meanwhile, the old, shameless woman plotted once again on the 26th floor above.
Her daughter had died at their hands, igniting her desire for revenge. She was ready to confront them head-on, determined to take down as many as she could.
With no will left to live, she felt nothing to lose.
The robbers had left grenades around her unit, and she planned to use them against the residents above.
But when the leader of the robbers she had once contacted returned to her unit, asking about their members’ whereabouts and why they had gone missing, she quickly changed her plan.
"It’s not me; the floor above did it. They killed them all," the old woman exclaimed, acting pitiful while blaming the residents above.
"You better tell us everything, otherwise..." The leader glared at her with a threatening smile.
They braved the snowstorm outside to come here from Building B, wanting to know the whereabouts of his trusted subordinates.
At the same time, they aimed to uncover the secrets of the mysterious shop and forcefully take it over. ƒreewebɳovel.com
The old woman quickly spilled everything she knew; she needed their strengths and numbers to take down the residents above.
"They were supposed to hijack unit 1501, but they never returned with my daughter. Sir, the only possibility is that the residents on the floor above might have information about the raid, so they must have killed your subbordinates in the process."
"Hmmp, tell me about the residents above."
The old woman continued to spill everything. "Sir, based on my observations over the past few days, I’ve never seen them leave their floor. With this cold weather, they might freeze to death. We should take action now."
"Shut up, don’t tell us what to do. We’ll take action when we want to. Aside from that, tell us about this mysterious shop."
Yes, they wanted revenge, but the mysterious shop’s resources were more important now.
But the old woman insisted, trying to bait them more to take action.
"Sir, the residents above have a lot of resources. Plus, the last time they modified their unit, it might have something to do with this disaster. If you take action and force them to give up the floor, it would be yours."
The leader was intrigued, studying the old woman to see if she was telling the truth.
"Where did you get this information?"
"The manager informed us about the situation, and I also confronted them about the noise from their floor renovations."
The leader did not respond and looked at his subordinate’s opinion.
"What do you think?"
"Let’s raid them while we wait for the mysterious shop to appear and investigate. We can make their floor our new hideout, Boss, since Building B isn’t livable anymore."
Soon, they busied themselves waiting for the evening to come.
Though the floor was dark and eerie with no one around, they still wanted to surprise them once they fell asleep.
