Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 214: Meat for Poochi
Chapter 214: Meat for Poochi
The next day, Elena and Ethan were busy organising the supplies requested by the military.
These included essential food items like tons of flour, packs of noodles, and dried meats.
The list also featured staple goods such as rice, wheat, potatoes, corn, and beans—all ideal for long-term storage.
Additionally, the military asked for sugar and salt.
Sugar offers a quick energy boost to help maintain strength during tough times, while salt is vital for balancing electrolytes and preserving food.
Fortunately, sugarcane had already been planted in the Farm section and was now ready for harvest.
However, they needed to build an additional processor to refine it properly.
As for salt, it could be extracted from the lake water, but doing it manually would take too much time and effort.
They would need special equipment to make the process more efficient.
The [Building] function required a complete blueprint in order to create the necessary machines.
Luckily, the books they had hoarded from previous libraries contained the blueprints they needed.
Elena began envisioning a plantation for salt production, planning to work on it later when she had more time.
The list also included tons of bottled water.
Elena grew worried about where to get more bottles.
Plastic bottles were now rare, as there was no production anymore.
She considered whether to build a factory to produce plastic bottles herself.
Air pollution wasn’t a concern; the space was protected by a spell with an auto-clean feature that kept the air fresh and clean.
The only problem was that this spell required a large amount of spiritual energy to keep running—especially now, as the Golden Tablet had become increasingly greedy to maintain its functions.
"Water bottles seem to be running out fast. Should we let customers bring their own bottles and offer them a discount if they do?" Elena suggested.
"Let’s do that for now," Ethan agreed.
"I’ll speak with someone later and try to find a blueprint for a plastic factory. I’ll also study the ingredients needed to make plastic items."
"Also, look into creating a cellophane factory for packaging," Elena added, clearly excited by the thought of labelling everything with ’Paradise Product.’
She was now on the path to becoming the richest person in the apocalypse—but her excitement quickly faded when she remembered that all the jade and antiques would still end up being fed to the Golden Tablet.
She sighed.
"Alright, let me handle everything. Just give the orders, okay?" Ethan said gently, worried that she might get tired.
Elena nodded and pushed the thought aside, turning her focus to the next item on the list.
Next was the meat.
The military requested massive amounts of pork, beef, chicken, fish, and seafood—basically, any kind of meat.
Elena started by using their hoarded stock, clearing it out of the Inventory until only the meat produced by Paradise remained.
Paradise-grown meat was far superior.
It had a better taste, lasted longer, and even contained a bit of spiritual energy, making it ideal for long-term use.
When her eyes landed on the seafood, Elena couldn’t help but swallow hard. She secretly decided to have some for her lunch later.
"How are they even going to move all this meat?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the towering stacks on the other side.
"Don’t worry about that, wife. Our job is to produce. Collecting it is their problem," Ethan replied reassuringly.
She agreed and got ready for the next item on the list—fruits.
Tons of oranges, apples, bananas, berries, strawberries, and more.
The military wanted these fruits to give their officers much-needed vitamins.
They then started retrieving the fruits based on the military’s request.
"So many? Can they even finish all of this?" Butler Aki asked, eyeing the mountain of oranges piled to one side.
"Don’t underestimate the military," Ethan replied, peeling some fruit for Elena.
"They haven’t had fresh fruit in months. This might not even be enough. Remember, there are still thousands of people at their base."
He then peeled another one.
Whenever he had the chance, Ethan always made sure to feed his wife—especially with nutritious fruits that were good for the baby’s development.
Next on the list was medicine.
It included paracetamol, antibiotics, pain relievers, morphine, potassium iodide, and drugs for chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension.
But the most important item was the all-purpose ’Paradise Cream,’ now widely known for providing instant relief from injuries.
The military wanted thousands of it, but Elena refused.
The cream was difficult to make and could only be produced in their pharmaceutical lab—fifty units per day at most.
After they gathered all the supplies, the goods were stacked in front of the Southern Inventory Sector, forming a tall and impressive structure ready for dispatch.
"It looks like this is all," Elena said, glancing at the list one last time.
"When are we going to proceed with the exchange?" Ethan asked.
"Tomorrow afternoon. In the morning, we’ll move these supplies to the abandoned building we talked about."
"Alright, wife, let’s have lunch now," he agreed, taking her hand, ready to leave.
"Let’s finish building another pond in the Eastern Lake Sector first. I might forget later," she replied.
Ethan nodded, and Elena was just about to teleport when they heard laughter and chatter coming their way.
The kids had found the supplies and were now running around, full of energy, and trying to climb on top of the stacks.
Elena didn’t know how they had reached the Southern Inventory Sector, but when she spotted Poochi and Mimi with them, she sighed.
She figured the dog must have led them there.
"Poochi, there’s a lot of meat for you! Sis Ele really loves you and prepared all this meat," little Mia shouted with joy.
"Aw~aw~aww!" Poochi wagged his tail happily as he stared at the mountain of meat.
’Meat for me’, he thought proudly.
He then ran over to Elena, hoping to sneak a bite.
Of course, Mimi followed.
By now, she had finally realised that Elena was the true boss of this space, not Ethan, and so she rubbed her fluffy fur against Elena’s leg, meowing sweetly.
"Meow~meow~meow," she cried, her eyes pleading. free𝑤ebnovel.com
’Give me the meat, please.’
Ethan couldn’t take it anymore.
He quickly pulled Poochi and Mimi away from his wife.
"I’ll give you some later. And kids—stop running around the supplies and don’t touch them!"
Elena laughed, watching Ethan look overwhelmed by the kids’ boundless energy.
Thankfully, Aunt Liza had said it was normal.
So, she had allowed the kids to keep drinking the well water—which only made them even more hyper.
