Armed Train in the Apocalypse-Chapter 413 - 270: Bastard, Kill Me!
"Since you were small, I’ve sent you to the best schools and hired the best etiquette teachers..."
"Everything you eat and use is top-notch. Just look at what you’re wearing now..."
"..."
"Even after the apocalypse, the resources I’ve spent on your evolution could buy his life! Buy his life and everyone on his ramshackle train!"
"Did you see the eyes of your peers outside looking at you?"
"Don’t you feel ashamed?!"
Mother seems to love her more than Mr. Shu does, but Shu Wei had realized early on that she was merely a tool in her mother’s hand, a dagger for Wang Yi to wield against Mr. Shu during their fights.
But Mr. Shu didn’t care about this dagger.
He even willingly took it upon discovering its worth.
What puzzled her was why Wang Yi couldn’t see the things she could perceive as a teenager.
From then on, whenever Wang Yi reprimanded her or went hysterical, Shu Wei would hide, waiting silently for her anger to dissipate.
As for living alone, she had considered it, but every time Wang Yi would manipulate her to come back.
Eventually, she grew tired of resisting.
Wang Yi could torment herself however she wanted.
She had never considered the foolish notion of cutting ties.
Wang Yi’s annual pocket money surpassed the value of her own company, so enduring a few curses was nothing.
Isn’t wealth more important than love?
As long as she had money, everyone would look up to her, isn’t that delightful?
Now, the resources representing power had simply shifted from money to strength.
So between her parents and the train conductor, she would unhesitatingly choose the latter.
Only by following the conductor could she become stronger.
Stronger than she ever was beside her parents.
Though her mother was right about one thing.
This outfit was indeed lacking.
She casually brushed away the makeup pen lifting her chin, and with Wang Yi’s vacant gaze, walked towards rows of dresses behind her.
’If it’s this one, perhaps he would like it?’
...
Compared to the tension in the changing room, the powder-keg atmosphere in the compartment was equally volatile.
Unnoticed, a dozen attendants had already stood at attention outside the compartment, Zhong You caressed the short spear in his hand, squinting at the tall shadow in the corner with four arms, chatting aimlessly with Bao Qingqing beside him.
Bao Qingqing covered her mouth in a coquettish laugh, "Are your missions always this interesting?"
Zhong You’s face remained taut, slightly speechless; each mission claimed several lives, what’s so funny about it, did this woman not understand his words?
Unable to engage in a meaningful conversation, he could only respond perfunctorily, as per Cao Yong’s advice.
"By the way, that person is quite odd, do you know him?"
Bao Qingqing pointed at the corner’s four-armed silhouette.
Zhong You frowned and lowered her hand, "That’s ’Four-armed Fierce Ghost’ Han Lie. If you don’t want to die, don’t point at people indiscriminately."
"Ah, is he that powerful?"
Bao Qingqing was slightly surprised.
"Then, who’s stronger, you or him?"
"It depends on the environment, a forty-sixty chance."
Thinking of his title, Bao Qingqing appeared contemplative, "And on land?"
Zhong You slightly shifted to block Han Lie’s line of sight, his voice steady, "On land, I’ve a sixty percent chance to beat him, forty percent chance to be killed."
Bao Qingqing marveled, "With you two here, doesn’t it mean that the train conductor is doomed?"
Zhong You’s eyes darkened, it’s not just two people.
Since entering, he’d only seen Han Lie, he couldn’t find the other Tier Two Powerhouse no matter how hard he searched.
Though he acknowledged Han Lie’s strength, based on the conductor’s displayed momentum, two might defeat him, but to completely overpower him... perhaps insufficient.
Just waiting to see who the company prepared as the third powerhouse.
If a controlling Tier Two expert, that’d be best.
As he pondered, a soft, sweet voice suddenly appeared by his ear.
"The action’s started, little handsome."
Zhong You instantly identified the voice and linked it to his mental image, his pupils sharply contracted.
"Yes!"
...
In the hall, a giraffe devouring fruit instinctively raised its head.
Leaning to the side, Bai Lu clutched a dragon fruit, while lifting an assault rifle in her embrace, shifting her feet, leaning against the giraffe’s back.
The hall’s guests rapidly departed, attendants retreated swiftly.
Without thinking, the two dashed towards the inner hall’s entrance.
"The conversation inside isn’t over, you two should just stay put, afterward I’ll plead with Mr. Shu, so you won’t be killed."
A wild voice sounded from outside the door.
Black Kite Special Service personnel in black tactical exoskeleton suits burst in with weapons drawn, swiftly aiming at them, with a man in the center, wearing a golden iris brooch on his collar.
He too wore a tactical suit but was unarmed.
Nevertheless, they were on high alert.
Under these dense gun barrels, in the vast empty hall, even Bai Lu, a Tier One Evolver, couldn’t escape alive.
"Before I go to execute the mission, I’ll give you ten seconds to consider."
The man assessed their standard tactical postures, his eyes revealing appreciation.
Initially, to ensure the purity of combat personnel, the company didn’t extensively recruit retired soldiers, despite the Black Kite’s Special Service personnel undergoing prolonged tactical training, in his view, they were only decent, nothing more.
Lacking that sort of "organization" discipline training, they’re slightly unmanageable everywhere, seemingly awkward to utilize.
And these two here, at a glance, are seasoned veterans.
Perfect for training exercise effect.
"How’s it? You have six seconds left to decide."
He glanced at his watch, continuously pressuring them.
The giraffe’s eyes flashed fiercely, sneering, "Old Bai, think of surrendering, no?"
"He Jie would kill me."
"But doesn’t the situation seem doomed?"
"I might try that technique."
Bai Lu said, uncertainly. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The giraffe’s mouth twitched, he’d once trusted that damn intuition only to end up abducted onto the train by that old dog.
"Which proves my technique was fine."
A slap sounded.
Not a crisp gunshot, but the sound of an assault rifle hitting the ground.
The smile on the golden iris man’s face grew stronger.
The giraffe hesitated, looking back, seeing Bai Lu had dismantled all her gear and was now removing her bulletproof vest.
Her gun had somehow been placed down.
Bai Lu turned to the man in the center and asked, "You guys are heading inside, right?"
The man shrugged his nose, "Yes, about your choice..."
Before he finished, the man frowned, watching Bai Lu fiercely bind the door handle with a belt, snapping it shut.
The giraffe instantly understood his old partner’s intention, laughing bitterly, beginning to remove his equipment too.
"Death is one thing, but you’ve deprived me of dying peacefully."
Bai Lu’s gaze bore an unfamiliar calm, "I want to know why we were abandoned, only the conductor is willing to seek this answer, only he is willing to lead us in search of this answer."
The giraffe looked complexly at his old brother, sensing a radiant glow of wisdom in Bai Lu once dubbed an idiot.
The man grew impatient, unkindly saying, "What do you mean? Ready to die?"
Bai Lu tugged, ensuring the belt was firmly tied.
Though knowing it couldn’t stop them.
But it could cut off her own retreat.
She silently turned and snarled at the man, "Bastard, shoot me dead!"
Like thunder, the roar echoed in the hall, drowning out the music bleeding through the door seam, akin to the first barrage descending, transforming the luxurious hall into a smoky battlefield!
The golden iris man’s eye twitched with rage, veins bulging, "Shoot them to death!"
Watching his subordinates raise their guns, he suddenly recalled they had disarmed, quickly correcting, "Capture them alive! Capture them alive!"
