Ascension of the Sylvan Cosmos-Chapter 434. Mothkin Runic Field!
Chapter 434: Chapter 434. Mothkin Runic Field!
While the two Monster Queens battled it out in the middle of the nest, the rest of the armies clashed together in a brutal war. On the outer edge of the Terragore Empire, the allied army flooded through the tunnels and created spaces by sacrificing thousands of summons for it. The tank-specialized people then filled that space while healers and supports stayed closely behind each one of them. There were small groups made previously so that each tank had at least one healer and one supporter at all times.
Meanwhile, the long-range weapon masters, Aethermancers, Soulmancers, and monsters bombarded the edge of their domain so that all Terragore trying to cross over would be heavily injured even before they made contact. Then, to support the tanks, all short-range weapon masters and such helped them keep the flooding monsters in check.
The tactics practiced to the point of exhaustion during the last half a year bore fruit at this moment, creating a situation where almost no one was dying to the powerful and numerous Terragore monsters.
The frantic fight made time pass extremely quickly, and soon, one minute passed since Ignatia started clashing with the Terragore Queen. Ignatia’s grin twisted slightly as she felt a large part of her strength disappear. After all, Ant Queen’s Ire was a skill usually used during the last push of a battle to finish her opponents off and also enhance her children for that last push.
Still, since the Terragore Queen was so strong, Ignatia needed to use it straight away to keep the powerful monster from interfering with the army’s efforts to flood inside. ’My stats have fallen too much! I went from 81,000 to 65,000 Physique.’
As she thought that, the clear image of the Terragore Queen became somewhat of a blur before she appeared before her. The sharp claws of the monster approached her sides, ready to slash open her stomach. ’She is so ridiculously fast!’
As the attack approached and Ignatia despaired a bit, roots shot from the ground and quickly bent around the Terragore Queen’s body. "Liu Shu?"
"Step back!" Liu Shu’s voice boomed inside her head. Ignatia quickly jumped backward as roots surged from the ground and tried their best to tie the monster down.
"GRAAHHH!!"
The Terragore Queen angrily screamed, using her powerful body to pull and rip off the roots that were trying to cling to her body. Ignatia pointed forward, and a beam of heat scorched the air, smashing against the powerful monster.
BOOM!
[-2,150,000]!
Ignatia bit her lip. ’Only 21 Cores of damage?’ Her previous physical attacks dealt that amount of damage! Now her skills are dealing so little damage! During that one minute of strength, Ignatia dealt a total of 400 <Phoer Body Cores> of damage. However, that was not even 10% of the monstrous Terragore Queen’s 4300 <Phoer Body Core> reserves!
"Mariane!" Ignatia shouted, and over 200 mothkins flew over the battlefield, arriving on top of them. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Mariane shouted. "Already!? You’ve only been fighting for 2 minutes!"
Ignatia shouted again. "The strength of that monster is too high! Look at what it’s doing to Liu Shu’s roots for the high branches’ sake!"
Mariane and the other mothkins made their wings buzz while looking at how the Terragore Queen was chewing, pulling, and slashing off the sturdy roots of their World Tree.
A Terragore on the ground looked up and jumped onto a pillar, rushing upward with its powerful muscles and claws as if it was galloping on flat land. Ignatia noticed and shouted. "Careful!"
The Terragore jumped from the pillar, caring not for the height the mothkins flew at, and shot upward like a catapulted rock.
Whoosh!
Mariane’s face changed, and she pushed that younger mothkin out of the way. The Terragore’s arms captured Mariane and dragged her down onto the ground.
Ignatia shouted at the surprised mothkins. "Don’t stop! FOCUS!" She then shot forward through the masses of Terragore, blasting each one of them with one punch.
A few moments earlier, on the edge of the battlefield, the Sylvan groups had started transforming to start massacring people. Among them, a powerful bolt of lightning connected the ceiling and the ground as a powerful presence appeared at that location. That Lightning Sylvan looked as the Terragore snatched Mariane and pushed against the ground in her transformed state. Holding a gorgeous silver sword, Eila’s body transformed into an electric zap and crossed the distance that separated them.
As Mariane and the Terragore slammed against the ground, the mothkin’s face turned ferocious. "You stupid monster. <Moth Wing Allure Scale>."
Her wings slammed against the ground, and a powerful cloud of scales surrounded the area she landed. All Terragore rushing at her became somewhat dizzy, while the one on top of her started sneezing as its eyes lost focus.
At that moment, Eila arrived, smashing against the side of the Terragore.
BOOM!
The monster’s body got bent in a weird way as it flew and smashed through a group of them, creating damage everywhere. Not losing a single second, Eila grabbed one of Mariane’s arms and spun, picking up momentum to throw her skyward right after. Mariane grinned as she was blasted into the sky once more. "Thanks, Eila!"
Eila couldn’t answer as the Terragore around her rushed at her with the intention of ripping her to pieces. "<Verdant Chain Lightning>."
CRACKLE!
The lightning rushed everywhere around her, jumping from monster to monster and blasting them away. Nevertheless, the numbers around her were just too many. When she was getting worried, a bunch of Terragore were sliced on her right while another bunch were blasted over on her left. Ignatia and Edharen arrived at her position. Ignatia shouted. "Edharen, take Eila back! I’ll go help the moths!"
"Understood."
Eila and Edharen sped off through the hole Edharen created for a second, and cooperating together, they were able to return to the army’s perimeter.
The Terragore Queen’s roar shook the entire cavern at that moment.
"GRAHHH!!!!"
Liu Shu’s voice followed, sounding somewhat anxious. "Mothkins, it is now or never!"
Mariane managed to return to their side as the Terragore Queen sliced off most of Liu Shu’s roots holding her back. She shouted, taking out a giant pen and holding it with her four arms. "<Suppression Rune Field: World Tree’s Weight>!"
Several runes glowed golden, green, and white above and combined as Mariane waved her giant pen. This created a massive circle of runes that slammed down onto the Terragore Queen.
BOOM!
The powerful monster queen was slammed against the ground, creating a depression the same form as her own body as she sank into the hard rock. Her red eyes were slightly surprised at first before they burst with killing intent as she glared at the mothkins in the sky. "G-GRAAAAHH!!!"
Even while suppressed, she roared to her group to slaughter those mothkin. The Terragore in the surroundings stopped looking outward and all looked at the 200 mothkin in the sky. Mariane’s body burst into chills. "Eh... being glared at by these monsters is not pleasant, haha."
Her mother at the side muttered. "I just wanted to progress my crafting... Why am I being eyed at by thousands of flesh-eating monsters in the middle of a war?"
Seeing the Terragore rush toward the pillars with the intention of doing the same as before, the mothkins became somewhat nervous. "U-Um, Lady Mariane..."
Mariane spoke. "Hold your positions."
As those monsters climbed further and further up, ready to jump, the mothkin trembled slightly. They were not a combative species, so this kind of situation was unusual for them. "L-Lady Mariane!"
Mariane understood their worries. However, now was the time when they needed to keep their position, or all their efforts would go to waste! Therefore, she spoke in an unusual, fierce tone. "I said, WAIT! Hold your positions!" Her outburst made all of them stop complaining.
The Terragore Queen who was suppressed below, looked at them with a sneer and wicked joy, already expecting how good it would feel ripping those wings from their backs.
When the fastest monster jumped, and the Terragore Queen’s red eyes glowed as her monstrous face gained a vicious smile, a multicolored blur streaked across the sky. "<Myriad World Elemental Manipulation>!"
Light, Space, and Life Aether Mana struck the Terragore mid-air, creating a giant explosion that sent the jumping monster flying. Mariane’s lips arched. "You were almost too late, my little friend Flor."
Flor’s face was serious as she looked down on her enemies. "I was late once, and I lost a friend. Not anymore."
As other Terragore began jumping, lights of many different creatures flew from the sides, and more and more fairies arrived. After just a few seconds, there were over 800 fairies from the multitude of races floating around them. Alba, the Rose Fairy Queen, raised her arms and then pushed them down. A stream of wind burst from the sky, pushing everything down. Her attitude was much more mature than in the past after such a long time leading the Rose Fairies.
Flor ordered solemnly as multiple different elements of Aether Mana swirled around her like a whirlwind of power. "Defend the mothkin!"
With the sky covered, the transformed Sylvans on the ground began gaining terrain for the entire army, while the summons started to get stacked. As the Terragore were unable to kill all the summons, they began piling up and created an increasingly large threat.
Dead Terragore were blasted everywhere in the surroundings, and the Terragore Queen could do nothing but look. Angered, her body started twitching, and her harder-than-iron muscles bulged. Because the suppression rune field was slightly imbalanced, attacking the Terragore Queen while she was inside would only disrupt her suppressed state.
Ignatia was getting tired, so she jumped on the pillars and then toward the mothkins. Two Rose Fairies moved and caught the Ant Queen, helping her fly by their side. Flor laughed a bit without letting her guard down. "You were beaten quite quickly. That was somewhat disappointing."
Ignatia snorted. "I want to see you fight a <Fourth Energy Cycle> alone for even a minute. Let’s see how you do."
Flor coughed. If she tried that, she would probably be in quite a dangerous situation. Flor was somewhat focused on offense, so fighting at close range placed her at a disadvantage. She glanced to the side and spoke. "Verdantia and the others are doing quite well. Look over there."
Ignatia glanced over while summoning fireballs to rain on the monsters below. "Verdantia and Harmonixia are much stronger than the other two... Is that a coincidence?"
Flor smiled wryly. "No. Those two have been growing at a ridiculous pace after they... Well, became one with Liu Shu. It’s honestly quite ridiculous that they can get stronger from doing that."
Ignatia smirked. "Hehe. If we got stronger like that, wouldn’t we be able to dominate the entire planet by now?"
Mariane coughed. "You two... we are not in a private space. Please focus on the tasks and stop flirting; some single people like myself are about to cry out of envy!"
Flor blushed, and Ignatia laughed aloud. Alba spoke with a frown. "Um... Is the Terragore Queen moving, or is it just my imagination?"
Looking down, they saw the Terragore Queen’s wrathful face twisting as she looked at them, her long arms slowly retracting and placing her palms against the ground. "GgrraaaAAHHH!!"
C-CRACK!
Spiderweb-like fissures spread everywhere as the Monster Queen pushed against the ground. Seeing her upper torso lift momentarily from the ground made the mothkin gulp down with fear. "W-What kind of stupid strength does she have? The weight that’s pushing her down is similar to having 20% of Liu Shu on top of her!"
Alba muttered, stunned. "D-Did Lady Ignatia really exchange blows with that thing for over a minute?"
Everyone felt their admiration growing for the Ant Queen.
