Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power-Chapter 103 - : The Sea Tribe
As the players left the city, more and more gathered, heading in the same direction. Among them were several players with the ID "Shadow Legion" above their heads.
Drake turned around and made a cutting motion with his hand, asking, "Should we take out these Shadow Legion lackeys?"
Tristan responded irritably, "Do I look like the kind of person who’s that cruel?"
"…."
A brief silence fell over the group.
Drake was momentarily speechless.
To be honest, Blackshade didn’t seem to be the violent type. In fact, he was quite easy to talk to.
Feeling a little embarrassed, Drake apologized, "I acted on impulse."
Tristan shook his head. "What I mean is, if we get into a fight, don’t ask me about it. Don’t make it look like I’m the one calling the shots—I’m all for peace."
Drake understood and immediately signaled for his team to intercept the Shadow Legion members.
Soon, the sounds of combat echoed from behind them.
Drake wasn’t worried about offending Shadow Legion. They had clashed countless times before, both openly and in the shadows—this wouldn’t be any different.
On the coast, DarkSaber received news and immediately jumped up in anger, shouting, "Damn Drake, always going against me!"
The few vice-presidents beside him remained silent.

What could they say?
Telling the leader to calm down? That would only make things worse.
Besides, it wasn’t like Shadow Legion hadn’t been a thorn in IFA’s side before. Back in the newbie villages, they’d fought over training spots many times. Even now, as elite teams were leaving the beginner areas to head to the main city, the tension between the two guilds hadn’t died down. If they crossed paths in the wild, they’d always end up clashing before they continued leveling.
A vice-president named RagingBlood spoke up, "Leader, ShieldBreaker still won’t budge. What do you want to do about it?"
DarkSaber sighed in frustration. He had never anticipated that building a guild would be so complicated in this game. Even though his team had already taken down several BOSSes, the Guild Token still hadn’t dropped.
The only Guild Token on the market was the one in ShieldBreaker’s hands.
This was driving DarkSaber crazy. He was eager to be the first to establish a guild and make a name for himself. The longer he waited, the more unpredictable things would get.
The only silver lining was that other guilds hadn’t managed to get their Guild Tokens either, meaning they were all still on the same starting line.
DarkSaber had brought his whole team to Sonar City specifically to tackle the Dark Gold Grade BOSS and, hopefully, get that Guild Token as a reward while also collecting top-tier gear.
But the news had leaked, and other guilds had started to gather their forces too.
Without the ability to organize a raid, it was uncertain whether he’d even be able to claim the loot.
RagingBlood glanced at DarkSaber’s expression, hesitated for a moment, then finally said, "Leader, Blackshade’s come to Sonar City too."
The atmosphere grew tense.
Though the two guilds hadn’t had direct interactions recently, and Blackshade hadn’t made any more public appearances, everyone knew that Blackshade wasn’t slacking off—he had likely been quietly leveling up. That was evident from his level, which had reached 17, far surpassing the global rankings. Even Ivan, who was second place, was still at level 14, a full three levels behind him.
Based on DarkSaber’s sources, Ivan had the strongest SSS-level talent!
Yet he still couldn’t catch up to Blackshade.
Could Blackshade also be an SSS-level talent?
Thinking about this, DarkSaber felt a sense of suffocation in his chest. Where had Blackshade even come from? Why was he constantly in his way?
If he thought back, besides that one time when they tried to contest a BOSS in the newbie village, there wasn’t really any personal animosity between them. Yes, DarkSaber had sent people to block Blackshade at the resurrection point, but hadn’t Blackshade already dealt with that? Could it be that Blackshade was still holding a grudge over that?
Couldn’t he just let it go?
Grumbling to himself, DarkSaber then declared, "Don’t worry about him. I’ve prepared a secret weapon this time. I’ll make sure he never comes back!"
The vice-presidents exchanged glances, doubt visible in their eyes.
They remembered how confident DarkSaber had been in the past. The first time was when they tried to fight the giant wild rabbit, thinking his level 3 Flare spell could break Blackshade’s Stealth. That failed.
The second time was when they faced the Silver BOSS, Jerobi the Obsidian Giant. DarkSaber confidently used a revealing scroll, the Light God’s Gaze. That failed too.
Now, would this time actually succeed?
Noticing the skepticism in his subordinates’ eyes, DarkSaber’s anger flared. He shared a piece of item information with the team.
Upon seeing its incredible stats, the vice-presidents immediately believed it. They started to shower him with praise.
"This time, we’re definitely going to take down Blackshade!"
"Exactly. Blackshade is asking for trouble by going up against the leader!"
"I can’t wait to see Blackshade’s expression when it all goes down."
"Remember to activate the game’s screenshot feature, guys! We need to capture Blackshade’s humiliation and post it to the forums. Let’s ruin his reputation!"
"Absolutely."
Listening to the team’s chatter, DarkSaber couldn’t hide his satisfaction. Blackshade, this time, there’s no way you’re getting away!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Drums echoed across the sea.
Beneath the surface, dark shadows slowly rose, quickly expanding in size.
When they emerged from the water, players along the shore gaped in shock.
What a feast!
As the waves crashed, countless ocean creatures appeared in the players’ sights. There were lobsters over two meters long, their giant pincers covered in iron armor. Even a fully equipped soldier would be sliced in half if caught between those claws.
Aside from the lobsters, there were giant octopuses, their tentacles swirling with spears, waiting to strike.
And there were countless other sea monsters.
The front lines alone consisted of nearly 2,000 creatures, a massive, dark horde that covered the ocean’s surface.
And behind them, even more monsters were surfacing from the depths.
It was no exaggeration to say the entire sea horizon was filled with sea creatures.
Such a sight had many players trembling in fear.
Lobsters and crabs weren’t particularly frightening—they’d seen them before. But these two- to three-meter-tall creatures? That was something else entirely.
However, some players were excited.
With so many monsters, the experience points were going to skyrocket!
Of course, most players, including Tristan, were scanning the area, looking for the rumored Dark Gold Grade BOSS.
But after looking around, they found nothing.
Drake’s voice broke the silence: "What?! The information was wrong?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the sea erupted in waves, and a massive black shape slowly rose from the water.
It was a giant, standing over five meters tall.
Its body was covered in dark green scales, its face grotesque and terrifying. It had webbed fingers and wielded a black trident as it marched through the waves.
Tristan immediately recognized what kind of creature it was.
A Tide Giant.
Among the sea tribes, it was a formidable race. Fully grown individuals typically had Silver Grade or higher power, far outclassing the goblins outside Davi City.
Tristan couldn’t help but wonder—how unlucky could Sonar City be to face such a powerful opponent right at the start?
