Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power-Chapter 105 - : The Tide Giant Strikes!
After a brief discussion, everyone set off.
Before leaving, Tristan glanced at Drake. The poor guy had seemingly recovered from his heartbreak, channeling his frustration into newfound strength. He was out hunting down members of the Shadow Legion all over the place.
When Tristan arrived at the coast, he found a quiet corner, raised his hand, and cast Shadow Dagger.
The sea monsters in the area ranged from level 15 to 20, which was considered quite high. The other players were struggling to fight them off. But with Tristan’s advancement to the next class and improvements to his gear and skills, he was more than able to hold his ground.
However, the moment Tristan made his move, it was clear to everyone else just how much of a difference there was.
Even without using Breaking Stealth Strike, the damage from his Shadow Dagger was enough to instantly kill these monsters. After a few shots, more monsters were killed.
This was just the beginning.
As these sea monsters perished, they spread the Toxic Blood Plague to their allies. Within seconds, the plague began to spread, with numerous damage numbers floating up.
Even though the sea monsters had high levels and thick health pools, Tristan’s Sniper God talent had reached Level 2, doubling his damage.
The monsters simply couldn’t endure the Toxic Blood Plague for five seconds, exploding into experience points.

Tristan wasn’t in a rush to engage the Tide Giant yet. For one, it was still a little far from the shoreline, and fighting in the water wouldn’t allow him to make full use of his agility. For another, with so many monsters gathered together, he wasn’t about to waste the opportunity to grind some levels.
While the Toxic Blood Plague ravaged the area, Tristan didn’t idle. He changed his direction and cast Rain of Corruption. After that, his Shadow Dagger was ready again, and he threw it out for another round of kills.
In the blink of an eye, the number of sea monsters in the area plummeted. The ocean surface grew emptier and emptier.
This dramatic scene naturally caught the attention of other players.
"WTF, is he cheating?"
"What kind of crazy skill is that? It’s like cutting down weeds!"
"I just spent so much time killing one of those monsters, and here he is, killing them in two seconds. How is that even possible?"
"Of course it’s possible, do you even know who that is?"
"Who is it? Who’s so cocky... Wait, it’s Blackshade!"
"Now I understand why Blackshade leveled up so quickly. No one can match this monster-killing speed!"
"But why do I get the feeling that Blackshade’s ranged damage is off the charts? Isn’t he an Assassin?"
"Well, that’s something I don’t know either."
One player, ever the schemer, quickly ran up to Tristan with a respectful tone: "Blackshade, could you help me level up? I’ll pay double what Drake gave you earlier!"
It was no secret that Drake had spent 2 million for Blackshade’s help with leveling, causing quite a stir. Many wealthy players felt they’d missed their chance. The idea of paying to level up was irresistible to them.
Now that Tristan was in the game, killing monsters like a pro, many of the players figured this was their chance.
Tristan paused for a second. It seemed someone had remembered that incident.
However, Tristan didn’t need to make money by helping others level up. The reason he helped Drake was to quickly level him up to 10 and get him to the main city to post a Guild Token announcement. But right after that, he had gotten a message.
So when the players asked him, Tristan had no hesitation in rejecting them: "Sorry, I’m not helping anyone level up, no matter how much you offer."
He then activated Shadow Stealth and disappeared. He had no time for these requests; he was more focused on leveling up elsewhere.
The players stood in stunned silence. One of them sighed, "I guess we didn’t offer enough... We should have just named a price."
Another teammate nodded in agreement, "Yeah, trying to let the boss name his price is a mistake. We should have been more straightforward."
Regretfully, the group decided to try again later.
The number of sea monsters showed no sign of slowing down. But the Dark Gold Grade Tide Giant remained unmoving, watching the scene from the waves.
Tristan took a few more glances, confirming that he hadn’t been mistaken.
[Tide Giant Kamsaletor (Dark Gold Grade)]
Level: 25
HP: 4,200,000/4,200,000
Attack: 13,000
Defense: 12,000
Skills: Dark Current Vortex, Skyward Water Column, Triple Whirlpool Shield, Furious Sea Raging Waves, Roar Water Dragon Blast, Deep Sea Prison
Description: A well-known strong member of the Tide Giant race with exceptional combat prowess.
It was indeed a Dark Gold Grade boss, but why wasn’t it making a move?
If it was unable to adapt to land, that would make sense. However, Tide Giants were amphibious and capable of fighting just as well on land as in water, though they were weaker out of their natural environment.
Tristan suspected the Tide Giant was just observing the situation, ensuring there were no other powerful enemies around that could threaten it.
"Is it really that cautious?" Tristan muttered under his breath. "You’re a Dark Gold Grade boss with four million HP. Do you really think you’ll die that easily?"
To avoid drawing attention too early, Tristan decided not to engage the Tide Giant yet. However, if it continued to stay out of reach, he would have no choice but to go after it himself, entering the water to fight the boss. He had gained Shadow Leap, after all, which allowed him to quickly move around, making it a relatively safe fight.
But for now, he figured he would continue grinding levels.
"You have reached Level 18!"
"You have gained 5 Free Attribute Points!"
"The power of shadows gathers within you. You have gained an additional 5 Free Attribute Points!"
"Beast Blessing activated. You have gained an additional 5 Free Attribute Points!"
Tristan leveled up while standing on top of the numerous sea monster corpses.
At this point, less than five minutes had passed since he entered the fray. The large-scale battle was perfect for leveling up.
Even if he didn’t manage to kill the Tide Giant this time, he felt that just gaining a few more levels would make the whole thing worth it.
"You have reached Level 19!"
"You have gained 5 Free Attribute Points!"
"The power of shadows gathers within you. You have gained an additional 5 Free Attribute Points!"
"Beast Blessing activated. You have gained an additional 5 Free Attribute Points!"
In just under half an hour, Tristan leveled up again. This was despite spending some time moving around to different spots. If he had a chance to stay in one position for continuous damage, he might have even reached level 20.
From the density of the monsters in the area, it seemed very possible.
But as with all good things, this peaceful time couldn’t last forever.
Just as Tristan was preparing to continue leveling, the Tide Giant finally made its move.
After observing for a while, the Tide Giant finally locked onto Tristan as its target. This enemy had to be killed—if not, the invasion would fail!
Tristan’s instincts flared, and without hesitation, he activated Shadow Leap, vanishing into the air and reappearing several dozen meters behind.
Boom!
A massive wave came crashing down, wiping out everything in the area, including several sea monsters and a number of unfortunate players.
Some players had hoped to follow Tristan’s lead and grab some easy kills, but instead, they were the ones to feel the full force of the boss’s deadly attack. They were obliterated and returned to their respawn points in an instant.
With one powerful strike, the Tide Giant began charging toward the shore, moving with unstoppable force.
Tristan’s expression grew serious.
But before he could make a move, a cheer erupted from a distance.
"Finally! The boss is coming! Everyone, charge with me!"
