Tristan had originally thought that finding a second Goblin Den would be the peak of his leveling session. He never expected a surprise to be waiting for him.

The Goblin gathering itself wasn’t anything extraordinary, but once you added the word "settlement," it changed the whole picture. For a group to be called a settlement, it had to be at least a thousand Goblins strong.

Given that he’d already found two Goblin dens, Tristan had a feeling this settlement was going to be much bigger than he expected.

With so many Goblins in one place, and in a gathering with no defenses, the damage from Toxic Blood Plague would be catastrophic. Tristan couldn’t help but imagine the possibilities. If he wiped out this gathering, he’d probably level up twice, maybe even hit level 15, which would allow him to equip more powerful gear.

And with Bronze Grade Goblins already appearing in the dens, he was sure the settlement would have at least some Silver Grade Goblins in charge.

"This time, I have to run into a physical BOSS, right?" Tristan muttered with frustration.

His ring was practically bursting with unused gear—over a dozen items, half of which were magic-focused, and the rest required a lot more strength than he had.

In terms of his current setup, his equipment was embarrassingly weak. He was hoping this Goblin gathering would give him a break and drop some agility gear to improve his situation, or he’d really be in trouble.

He tucked the invitation away and opened up his map to look at the coordinates. It was still in the eastern part of Davi City, but much deeper into the wilderness.

The straight-line distance from Davi City was about fifty kilometers, and factoring in the terrain, it was even further. No wonder Horreo hadn’t found anything useful. With the distance and the inner saboteurs, locating the Goblin settlement was next to impossible.

Thinking of Horreo reminded him of something. Should he go back and reveal some info to trigger the next part of his quest?

After a moment’s thought, Tristan dropped the idea. Horreo had plenty of other quests to handle, and there would always be more chances. But a Goblin gathering like this was a rare opportunity. If he went back and word got out to the saboteurs, the gathering could be ruined.

If that happened, how would Tristan continue progressing?

"I’ll just bring back some evidence and have Horreo issue my reward later," Tristan decided.

With the exact location of the gathering, it was time to head out. At this stage in ExoGenesis, the in-game time was twelve hours ahead of real-world time. The servers went live at midnight, so when players logged in from their sleep pods, it was noon in-game. It had been five hours since launch, which meant it was already late afternoon in-game.

To make it to the gathering by midnight, he’d need to hurry. To avoid alerting anyone, Tristan decided to use Stealth.

With the Shadow Stealth ability and the speed boost, the journey would be faster.

Along the way, he encountered a number of Goblins heading in the same direction. There were already over a hundred Goblins just on his route. Given how many were headed to the same place, the total number would be staggering.

"This can’t even be called a gathering anymore," Tristan thought, impressed. "At this point, they should just call it the Goblin Kingdom."

The number of Goblins attending the gathering was already looking to be over 2,000. It was hard to fathom how much noise such a gathering would make. And yet, Davi City had shown no signs of reacting.

After a moment of reflection, Tristan realized his mistake. This was still the early stage of the game, and the major cities weren’t as developed as they would be later. It would take active participation from players to expand the cities, which meant that Davi City didn’t have enough guards to detect the Goblin settlement.

Looking around at the other players, Tristan knew that aside from him, the only one who had teleported to a main city was Ivan. Most other players were still stuck in the beginner villages, not even close to reaching level 10.

Speaking of levels, Tristan took a glance at the ranking board.

Drake’s name was prominently listed in the top 100. Though he was still level 8, Tristan knew it wouldn’t be long before he reached level 9. At that pace, Drake’s team would probably reach the main city in another two to three hours. But knowing Drake, he’d likely head for the Crimson Tomb first, at least to clear the adventure difficulty and get some decent gear. That was the usual path for most players—take on tougher dungeons for better equipment and to progress their classes.

Tristan’s mind wandered to his own gear stash.

[Armor-Breaking Greatsword: Silver Grade, Two-handed weapon, Attack +600, Strength +15, Requires Level 10, Strength > 120]

[Obsidian Plate Armor: Silver Grade, Defense +300, Health +1000, Strength +10, Requires Level 10, Strength > 50]

[Obsidian Necklace: Silver Grade, Health +100, Mana +300, Spirit +20, Requires Level 10, Spirit > 50]

Three pieces of Silver Grade gear from clearing the Crimson Tomb. He had intended to sell them in the shop, using the opportunity to create a bit of drama over who would take the Guild Token. But the moment he left the village, Drake messaged him saying he’d already found the Guild Token.

"Well, even without those three pieces, Drake’s team would still clear the adventure difficulty," Tristan mused.

Drake’s team was backed by the top-tier guild IFA, so getting good gear wasn’t a problem. Plus, every member of Drake’s squad was a hidden class, so their combat power was formidable. Completing the Crimson Tomb at the adventure difficulty wouldn’t be too difficult for them.

But for Tristan, he needed to stay focused on the Goblin gathering. If he could pull this off, he’d probably level up a couple of times, maybe even hit level 15, which would be a huge boost. Compared to that, selling equipment seemed like a minor concern.

Given his high agility and the added speed from Shadow Stealth, Tristan covered several dozen kilometers in just over an hour. He arrived at the coordinates and stealthily moved to a higher vantage point to survey the area.

What he saw below was a large valley. The towering mountains on either side stretched outward like the arms of a giant, enclosing a perfectly oval-shaped area. It was about two kilometers long and 700 to 800 meters wide.

It was just after 7 PM in the game, and the moonlight illuminated the valley, revealing the sight below. Goblins.

Countless Goblins.

There were dozens of campfires scattered across the valley, each surrounded by at least ten Goblins. This alone accounted for several hundred of them.

In the open spaces, even more Goblins were playing and chasing each other. Rough estimates placed the number of Goblins in the valley at around 1,500. And that wasn’t all—many more were still on their way.

Tristan was certain that this gathering would have over 3,000 Goblins in total!
